It has been a couple of days since the events at Hammerhead's mansion, where I managed to get Felicia to switch sides and become a 'good guy'.
Teaching her how to use the web shooters to swing around and fight was a lot easier for her than it was for Rogue since she was already used to using her grappling hooks. Just an hour of making rounds around the city with them was more than enough for her to look like a pro.
Diana as well is now hard at work spreading the "Friendly neighborhood Cat" propaganda, as I call it. She had thousands of accounts in separate forums and comment sections talking about how Black Cat had either been doing a lot of good lately or had personally saved them. She also made sure any news articles talking bad about her would be conveniently pushed to the bottom of all pages so they would be less likely to be seen by people while doing the opposite with articles that speak anything good about her.
Felicia thinks it is going to be a difficult and long journey to change people's perception of her, but from my experience, most people tend to forget about old things really quickly. In a few weeks, nobody will even talk about how she used to be a thief.
In my free time, I had also spent some more time at the dungeon grinding my levels, and currently, I have made my way up to level 99, with 89% of the way to the next level already done. A few scrubs or just one more supervillain would be enough to get me up there, and with Kingpin rapidly losing power over people, they were starting to pop up everywhere.
It was really a snowball effect. When I beat up a villain and sent them to prison, the others under him would see that he would soon be unable to protect them like he used to and started breaking off to do their own thing only to get sent to prison, repeating the process.
To get my final needed experience, Felicia and I were currently scouting the city for any crime we could see while also having Diana on alert for anything she could pick up on.
I hadn't yet told Felicia about my system. So far, the only one who knew about it was Diana since she was with me while I was in the dungeon though I was soon planning on telling Felicia, Gwen, and Rogue about it. The only problem I was worried about was that mind readers like Xavier would be able to look into their minds to learn about it if I did tell them. I need some sort of a countermeasure to deal with that.
If I could get them into the dungeons to level them up, then that would be ideal, as people around me would always be at risk with the number of enemies I am making. I would rather have them get strong enough not to have to worry about them being killed or kidnapped to be used against me.
I currently have my secret identity, but let's be honest here. I have been swinging into my apartment in the middle of Manhattan while wearing my spiderman costume, basically daily. If Shield and, consequently, Hydra have still been unable to figure out my identity, then they might as well disband now. In fact, I can say for a fact they know about me since Diana has already gotten into their systems and database.
I'm just hoping that they don't do anything to me until I max out a few more classes, as at that point, Hydra wouldn't be able to do any harm to me, no matter how much they wish to.
"I'm so bored of beating up these numbnuts who wave around their tiny knives. Can't we get a real challenge like the Rhino or the Shocker doing something?" Felicia complains as we land on a random rooftop for a quick breather. It's been an uneventful day, taking down small-time gangs and dealing with alleyway robberies for hours on end.
"When you say it like that..:" I momentarily freeze at her complaint as they always seem to invite trouble onto us. This cat is bad luck. Although, in the current situation, I would welcome trouble, I need my xp.
As if on cue, Diana announces to both of us. "I've got reports of two attacks on a bank starting simultaneously. The Vulture, along with a new, never before seen villain wearing a suit made to look like a scorpion, are attacking a bank convoy driving over the Ed Koch Queensboro bridge while the bank these convoys are heading to is now under attack by a man inside what the cops are only describing as " A Big Wheel.""
Oh dear god, why is that villain a thing? I dread the day the legendary "Wall" becomes my enemy in this world.
"Two robberies going on at the same time, which one should we head to? We probably won't have enough time to stop both." I say, making Felicia question me.
"Why don't we just split up? I mean, the point of us teaming up in the first place was so that we could do things you couldn't do alone, correct?" She asks before her smile turns mischievous. "Or are you going to turn into an overprotective father figure who tells me that I would never be able to take on these big baddies by myself and must stay with you?"
I shake my head. "Oh no, You will easily be able to manage on your own, have been for a long time."
Well, she should be able to manage against Big Wheel, at least. I'm not so sure if she could solo The Vulture and The Scorpion at the same time.
Taking that into account, I say. "Well, alright then, how about you head to that bank and take care of the wheely big guy there, and I go see what The Vulture is up to. Oh, and don't take any money from the bank while you are there, or at least don't let anyone see you taking some."
"No need to worry. I'm a changed woman." She says, giving me a salute and jumping off the roof to swing toward her destination.
And as for me… "So which one is the Ed Koch Queensboro bridge? Isn't it on like the other side of the city from me?" I ask Diana while bringing up a map.
"Affirmative," Diana says before continuing. "But it seems you don't have to go there by yourself. A jet should be going above your head any second now. Just look behind you."
"A jet?" I wonder out loud and turn around to take a look at what Diana is talking about. In the distance, I notice a small dot that is quickly approaching me.
"The Fantastic Four, a superhero team in NYC, has just returned from a three-month trip to Europe, and it appears that they are going to the same place as you. Might as well swing onto their jet and get a free ride." Diana says, and I have no objections. Attaching a web to the jet as it flies overhead, I pull myself up onto the roof of their vehicle.

Note: It seems as if every time I get a good thing going with this fanfic, real life comes in the way. Sorry for the period of silence, as I was busy with stuff, but it's back now.
