“What do you want?”

She cackled at my question. “Didn’t your mother ever teach you respect?”

I tried to focus on breathing in and out a few times. It wasn’t like Queen Vivian knew my family was hiding Katherine in our basement. At least I hoped so. Yeah. It was a safe bet she knew nothing about that.

I folded my arms and stared at her. “Respect isn’t an entitlement; it’s earned.”

“I didn’t come here for banter,” Queen Vivian said, brushing her hand over the fur of her coat.

I rolled my eyes. “You haven’t answered my question.”

“I know you’ve been seeing my brother.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Sure, you do. You two are dating.”

I sneered. “You’re wasting my time.”

“I want peace,” Queen Vivian said.

“Excuse me?” I asked.

“I’m serious. Losing my parents has made me realize the importance of siblings.”
