“Don’t worry. I’ll be fine.”

“Whatever you want. Anyway, please tell me that you still stuck to your no-violence policy when getting things?”

“Yes,” he said, snickering. “I only used mind control.”

“That’s a relief. I’d hate to think my boyfriend was a violent criminal.”

He stared into my eyes. Almost as if he wanted to melt me with his gaze. “Boyfriend? You’ve never called me that before.”

My heart pounded faster. Hopefully, I hadn’t said something wrong. I didn’t know what I would’ve done if I had messed up our dynamic. “Isn’t that what we are?”

“Yeah,” he said with a smile, “I guess you’re my boyfriend. Although I’ve never had one before.”

“I haven’t either. It’s good we’re on the same page.”

What I said was important, regardless of how obvious it sounded. Because we didn’t need any miscommunications. I allowed myself to enjoy a moment of happiness. If I wanted our relationship to grow, then we would have to be honest with each other.
