Knowledge over ignorance

Having a place where you can go when you are stressed or you're in desperate need of peace is really essential in the lives of lonely people.

Carrissa had her mouth open agape when she saw the scene being displayed in front of her.

The scene was too stunning for her to believe that it was real.

After a long time of being mesmerized, she began walking around in a daze.

She stood beside the river and watched the fish swim and the sound of the water washing away.

She felt peaceful and there was something which stirred her heart and made her feel like staying here forever. Something magical.

"You are not welcome here." A solemn voice echoed behind Carrissa pulling her out of her daze.

She jerked and fell on her butt.

"Ouch!" She rubbed her hand on her butt while glaring at Auric.

"What do you mean by I am not welcome here? Huh? Am I not the Queen? ''

Carrissa asked a flurry of questions after getting up from the ground.

The environment was too comfortable for her to leave.

She crossed her hand on her chest and stared at him with her blue eyes.

Auric looked down on the little girl who had the guts to question him. He knew that she was following him but he didn't know she would follow him to his personal space. Not even Odin knew about this place so it was not acceptable that she came here.

He still had an indifferent look on his face like he didn't give a damn about anything that went on in this world.

"You aren't allowed here. " He reiterated.

Carrissa stared at him unmoving with a raised brow as if asking him, 'What can you do'

In response to her expression, Auric caught hold of her dainty hands in a flash and began pulling her to the exit.

Carrissa's eyes widened, she didn't even see the time he held onto her hand.

She began struggling, hoping to extricate herself from him which ended in vain.

She furrowed her brows, tried to put all her weight on the ground and made him drag her and that made his job easier.

"Hey! What are you doing,?! Leave me you pervert!"

She screamed with all her might and tried biting him which also didn't end well. His grip on her was as strong as iron on a magnet.

"Okay, okay I will leave. Let go of me! "

Auric paused and slowly let go of her hand while still looking ahead.

Carrissa breathed in a bit and walked a step ahead, she tilted her head to the side and began running to the opposite side where the garden was situated.

A mischievous smile was on her beautiful face. She knew that she couldn't win him by brawn thus she had to win him by brain.

As Carrissa continued running, she felt a certain unease settling in her.

She could see a tree in front of her and the distance was short but no matter how hard she ran, she couldn't cover the distance.

It was like she was on a treadmill.

She suddenly felt the impulse to turn and upon turning she saw the helm of her dress being held up by a masculine hand.

Her expression became ugly to behold. How is he that strong?! Even though she knew that she didn't weigh much but she was still heavy.

Her expression became sorrowful in an instant as she was being pulled out.

Why was the heavens so unfair? Why would they make someone so perfect? She was sure that he would be good in other aspects too.

Her face heated up when she thought of this and soon enough she was brought out and the gate was closed at her.

She stared at the gate and quietly walked away.

She needed something to do, to rid her mind of her naughty thoughts and the magical garden.

As she was walking around, she met Odin by chance who was also speaking to a minister.

The minister bowed upon seeing her and Odin also paid his respects to her.

The minister soon left leaving the duo to converse.

Odin had his usual smile on his face and he looked exceptionally tidy.

Carrissa sighed and wondered why she was not married to this man, at least she would have grown to love this smiling face.

"Hah. "

"Is anything the matter, Carrissa? " Odin asked after hearing her sigh. Carrissa, upon jerking back to the present covered her mouth and apologized.

"Sorry. I didn't know that that came out loud. I was thinking about something. "

Carrissa said.

Her bright blue eyes stared at Odin.

"If I may ask, what is disturbing the lady? "

Odin asked like a gentleman.

"Oh but before that, let's sit down to some tea. "

Carrissa readily followed him into the tea room and soon a maid came by serving tea and biscuits.

"So if I may ask? " Odin began, he was sitting opposite Carrissa and could see her expression from that view.

He knew that she wanted company and since he was not doing anything, he wouldn't mind accompanying her.

"I feel bored. " Carrissa began, her finger tracing the exquisite design on the cup.

"I understand. You are not used to life at the palace. "

"But you would get over it soon. "

Odin comforted with a genuine smile on his face.

"I hope I will. "

Silence soon prevailed between them while they drank their tea in silence while looking out towards the glass window.

"Animals have got it easy in life. " Odin started.

"Their lives have been set up in stages for them. A stage for birthing, a stage for growing, a stage for finding love and a stage for mating. " His voice had a certain longing and sorrow attached to it.

Carrissa stared at him while she waited for him to continue.

"Isn't Mother Nature amazing? Humans chose knowledge over ignorance. We would have been living a life of bliss, free from betrayal and other ill emotions. Don't you think so? " Odin turned and stared straight into Carrissa's eyes.

Carrissa kept quiet and stared at him, his eyes held secrets. They held the same emotions as Auric but Auric's own was much more intense than Odin's.

Auric looked empty like he had given up on life but Odin still had hope in his eyes and the candle of life burned brightly in his eyes compared to that of Auric.

"I was talking nonsense, don't mind me. What about you? Can you do me the honour of telling me about yourself? "

In an instant, Carrissa noticed the quick change in his eyes. He had resumed his usual playfulness.

Dear readers, it's with utmost sorrow and helplessness that I inform you that I won't be able to write for about a month or two...maybe three.

But just remember that I will always put you first if I get the time and wish me luck while I am going back to school.

Love you guys. Ciao.
