A kiss from my perfect husband

The words buzzed in Auric's ears like the annoying sting of a queen bee. Did he hear her well?

Did this insignificant being that he married just say those words?

Auric looked confused, he thought that giving her riches was enough to settle the score so why the hell did she ask that question?

On the surface, he looked calmer than ever giving Carrissa bumps.

Auric stared at her for a couple more minutes, he wanted to leave but he couldn't as the feeling was addictive. She could nullify his punishment when she was ten feet near him so he decided to answer.

"Because you're beautiful." And this wasn't a lie. Auric felt that Carrissa could pass the beauty standard in the Heavenly realm and even best a few of them.

A smile crawled onto Carrissa's face and she coughed to hide it. This was the first time she felt happy when someone told her that she was beautiful.

The others got their noses broken on 'accident' or their carriages broke down mid-way. She didn't understand why but she concluded that it must be because he was handsome.

She cleared her throat and asked, "Is that all?" Carrissa asked, hoping to hear more praises.

Auric's cold eyes landed on hers. She should be happy that he complimented her and here she was asking for more.

"There is nothing else, I married you because of your beauty if not, your barbarian nature would have scared me off," Auric replied with mockery lingering in his tone. How could a woman be so fierce, he thought he had seen it all but this was new to him.

His tone irked Carrissa badly. Her blue eyes glimmered coldly. Since she was an infant, no one dared to speak to her like that nor go to the extent of mocking her. Aside from her family's power, she stood up for herself.

"Then why have we not done the deed? Huh?" She questioned angrily. A noble lady was taught that her use in this world was to pleasure her husband sexually and bear children for him so it was no wonder Carrissa asked such a question.

Carrissa cursed internally, she hated this topic more than anything and always wondered why it was thought but out of anger she blurted it out in front of Auric.

Auric understood what she meant, he wasn't a child. He scoffed lightly and said. ''I didn't marry you for that. If I wanted to do it, I would have pinned you down that day that you were wandering in my garden. " Auric responded as he took the last sip from the wine. He placed the glass down and stared at Carrissa like she was a lost animal.

"Have you swung to the opposite side? You never kissed me before nor have we consummated our marriage and neither do you stare at me in admiration as you admire my beauty. " Carrissa questioned. Her brave nature returned out of nowhere and queried the man who was about to leave.

She wasn't that interested in those things, all she wanted was to find loops so that she could live her life freely without him roping her with the responsibilities of a Queen. It didn't matter to her whether he liked men or had a mistress.

Auric stared at her for a few minutes, his eyes intensely on her while his face was straight, a couple of seconds passed and finally he let out a laugh.

Carrissa stared at him with her mouth on the floor. He looked stunning when he smiled. His ravishing face was thrown back as he laughed.

She was mesmerized and caught in a trance which she didn't want to release herself. She didn't know a person could be this handsome.

Auric's laughter ceased and he realized his composure, looking colder than before." The next time you question me in this manner, you will be spending your night in the dungeon. " Auric threatened. He straightened up his shirt and made for the door.

Carrissa stared at him, she had not escaped from her trance yet and at that moment, she lost all reasoning and...

Auric felt something heavy land at his back. He knew who it was and he couldn't even dodge it, he stepped back and placed her on a nearby couch. Turning around, he was ready to spell out her punishment when she did something he didn't expect.

Auric felt as though he had been electrocuted and he suddenly jerked back breaking the kiss.

Carrissa broke out of her trance and she realized what she had done. Her mouth was open in disbelief. What the hell was wrong with her? Why did she kiss him?

Her thoughts ran helter-skelter in her mind as she contemplated what to do next.

Her eyes drifted to the lips of Auric who squatted in front of her. She quickly diverted it and gave herself an internal slap.

What is she thinking? Just because he is handsome doesn't mean that she has to go and kiss him.

She waited for Auric to say something and saw him stare at her with no emotion she decided to turn it on him so that she could oud punishment. She still remembered her last punishment.

"You are queer. You broke off the kiss within a second. " She started while waiting for a retort. Receiving none, she continued." Why did you marry if this was how you were going to behave? You are not interested... "

The words sounded like the confusing language of the ants of Auric. He was still captivated by that kiss. Even though he was quite popular in the heavenly realms, this was his first kiss and it was stolen by a human. He was supposed to be angry but he felt like he wanted more. Her lips looked appealing to him and he wanted to gulp it down.

He couldn't understand why he was feeling this way but now was not the time to think. His brain was too mushy to process anything and bring out something useful.

"...lets... " Carrissa was interrupted with a lip pressing on hers. Auric kissed her fiercely as though his life depended on it.

He held her waist and pulled her closer to get more space. Carrissa was stunned at first but she couldn't resist the temptation and kissed him back. Her hands were roaming about in his long hair.

Auric raised her in his arms, sat down and put her on his lap. His hand moved toward the zip of her dress and he stopped abruptly.
