Chapter 27: Lola comes through!
"Oh Danni, you've suffered a lot. And I still feel guilty...." She began with remorse
Then I interrupted, I knew where she was driving at and wasn't ready to hear her wallow
"...Lola? We talked about this, didn't we? I need your help...This Mandy girl Is really not for good. The aura says it better!" I said
"I know this girl. I know her somewhere, I'm just trying to recall!"
She stood in silence for a while then boom! She turned to me immediately, I figured she got the answer.
"There! My Ex boss's whore. He was Married but they got this.....thing going on for almost six months." She said
"Six months you say?" I asked to clarify
"Yes! Then how on earth did she meet Hunter?" Lola asked in confusion
We were Dumbfounded and still wondered what actually happened, then I figured through my assumptions.
"Or could it be that in the middle of their fling shot, she had Hunter in her life as well?"
"I think so too. She was a multiple whore though!" Lola rolled her eyes in response and continued "Did she really last with Hunter, like that long?"
"Hunter only mentioned that they've been in a short complicated relationship even before Hunter and I met. This bissh is crazy, i can't believe Carol fell for this shit!" I added with a smirk
"Carol messed up! I thought she was more than this? This is not the woman I met sometime ago." Lola asked
"You know how she gets. For every IceCube there's always a melting point. She was only vulnerable because....it was Hunter otherwise none!" I explained
"Whatever Danni, you'd do anything to defend their sanity!" Lola shrugged with a smile
"C'mon LaLa!" We laughed clinking our glass of wine against each other.
Now, we had a mission to find about Mandy. It became much easier now that Lola had a clue about Mandy.
Lola was in the living room with Jordan seeing a live show while I conversed through the phone with Jeremy, Bella's son.
"Yes Jeremy! Your mother spoke to me earlier about some problems y'all have been going through. I decided maybe you could come around for a couple of days before you return...." I opted
"Oh ma'am! I can't measure up to such amount....." He began
"...You didn't let me finish, boy!" We laughed then i continued "I'd arrange a quick flight for you then you'd arrive tonight, how about that? Your mother would be so excited to see you."
I could hear him from the background depicting how excited he was about my offer, he wouldn't stop appreciating as well
"Just hold on, I'd get back to you in minutes ok? Its our little secret remember, she does not have to know just yet!" I added
After the phone call, Lola asked about it
"Someone's doing some surprise huh?"
I laughed
"Nah! Its for Belle. I'm tryna arrange a quick flight for the poor kid, he misses his mom likewise her, so?" I said concentrating on my phones' screen
"That's thoughtful, I wonder how large your heart is to accommodate everyone; bissh you're selfless!" Lola teased as well both laughed.
I believed in giving and supporting, so it wasn't a big job for me to give a hand if I always could.
Meanwhile, at the McClure's, it got intense.
Firstly, Ada was in no support of such Overriding actions her mother, Carol displayed. Adam decided to confront her mother who was sitting in her study.
"Mother, could you please leave me out of this? This is breaking my relationship with Danielle, can't you see?" Ada explained
"Spare me all that, Ada! This is Hunter's son not some random or ordinary child.
Its no crime trying to fight for your late brother. You are getting this job done, alright?" Carol instructed
"Mother, Can you listen to yourself? She never wanted these properties in the first place, you coaxed her into this; so why act different over someone you barely know?" Ada fired outrightly.
Carol smiled at Ada's defiance and continued calmly but authoritatively
"My dear! You'd do as I say or else, its me against you. Do this for Hunter not Danielle....Come to think of it, you should be all about defending your brother's offspring not being against it!" Carol said
"Woah mother! Did you ever like Danielle? Hunter would never acknowledge this you know. Trying to threaten me wouldn't be of help either...." Ada replied
"Ok! Let's see how far you go with this. Don't forget that I'm the first lady not some woman out there, I'd advise you stay on my side or lose the name you've ever labored for!" Carol added turning away
"You can't make the law flexible to your advantage, 'coz I wouldn't watch you go extra!"
A knock interrupted, it was Eric. He tilted his head noticing some abnormality
"Is everything ok in here?"
"How could it be?" Ada walked out angrily
"Mother?" Eric asked Carol
"You should talk to your wife, Eric!"
"Well, the agency meeting would start in 15. You know we've waited for this day!" Eric pointed out
Carol sighed and replied
"Yes Eric, I'd be there. Just a moment!"
He nodded positively walking out.
Eric headed to the living room where Ada stood pacing back and forth. He drew her close pressing her against his masculine physique instead, giving her a swift kiss on the lips then asked
"Baby, Are you ok?"
"No Eric, I'm not. I can't believe my mother's trying to create a scene using me as some crazy fallacy. Where did i go wrong?" Ada complained bitterly
"We'd figure it out ok, just relax. I guess she's being too obsessed with this child-thing....Could you believe she came thru with a threat? Nah! I'm not keeping shut this time. How many times do I have to compromise my license for some dubious shit?"
"Hey? We'd sort it out, you don't have to go dubious Ada. Be you!" He assured with a warm hug
"Thank you, Eric! Danni, has been through a lot....I don't want to be a part of this!" She whispered in his ears
It was one thing fighting and the another thing fighting to stay alive. I wondered why Carol changed instantly, the governor was obviously busy with state affairs not some unlawful claim. All wanted was to prove to Carol with or without her consent that Mandy was an imposter and a manipulator.
