Other group

"Lia!!" A loud voice suddenly sounded from the other side of the street, the voice was a bit far away despite how loud it was.

Lia did not need to see who the person was as she recognized the voice instantly.

"Priscal? What's she doing here?!" Lia wondered out loud while trying to push the zombie off of her.

Priscal was the one In charge of the third group and they were supposed to be clearing other buildings.

.....

A few minutes ago….

After everyone had separated to complete their tasks, Priscal led her group under the heavy downpour and moved deeper into the street.

They ran into a small group of zombies that happened to be roaming around in the rain as well but they easily dealt with the zombies since their numbers were not much, they killed all the zombies without any of them sustaining any injuries. The group had yet to catch their breath when another stray zombie spotted them and started running towards them, the group had planned to deal with this zombie as well since it was only one zombie but they were gravely mistaken after a few seconds of trying to kill the zombie.

They had not been able to see it clearly when the zombie was afar due to the rain reducing their eyesight but it became as clear as day after the zombie got close and they started fighting the zombie. This particular zombie was more than 6 feet tall and had a very bulky figure just like Fablo, it was in a torn and tattered military uniform along with a pair of black boots.

Half of its lower jaw was gone, revealing the bloody mess that was left and also causing it to be unable to hold back the slimy liquid in its mouth and it constantly poured out like an endless stream of nightmare.

But even with all these terrifying features of the zombie and its intimidating size, it was not what almost drove the group to dismay. The group had previously ignored this matter as they focused more on killing the zombie but soon came to realize their mistake after minutes of being unable to even inflict a single wound on the zombie.

The zombie had green eyes!!!

They only came to realize that it was an abnormal zombie after the zombie constantly overpowered them and its speed was almost too fast for them to react to. They had ignored this earlier simply because the eyes of the zombie were not completely green yet and still had a bit of redness in them but the green occupied more space unlike the one Fablo had encountered earlier.

Worse case, none of them used or had a sword like Lia and none of them were in possession of any sharp weapon, all of them were eight holding bats or steel bars which could not pierce through the hard skin of this zombie or cut it.

The bone of the zombie was also surprisingly very tough that they could not forcefully damage it no matter how much force they applied to their attacks and that was even on the note that they were able to land a hit because the zombie was too fast for them.

Not only was it an abnormal zombie, but it also behaved strangely at times like suddenly dodging or blocking a strike with its large rotten hands. These weird actions happened only a couple of times which made them believe that the zombie was acting on instincts mostly based on its past life since they could clearly tell that it did not have any intelligence as of now.

It would have been a disaster if the zombie had even a bit of intelligence and this was precisely the reason that they were not dead yet because despite how fast the zombie was along with its monstrous strength, it was still, in the end, an empty husk that was driven by its hunger for flesh so all of its attacks could almost be predicted and it would sometimes focus on one person, giving the others the chance to attack it and throw it around even if they could not kill it.

BAM!!

Priscal placed her bat in front of her as the arm of the zombie suddenly appeared in front of her and slammed into her bat, causing her to slide backward on the wet street.

She stopped sliding a few meters away from her initial position with a pained look on her face as her arms trembled slightly due to the impact of the zombie's attack.

"Just what is this abomination?!" Priscal hissed in a mixture of dread and annoyance as she stared at the zombie who had turned to face another person while the others hit and stabbed at it with their weapons.

She had seen the zombie suddenly lunge in her direction with its hand raised back to deliver a strike, had she been a second slower, that attack might have ended up colliding with her chest. She doubted if she would have been able to get up had that attack connected.

She ran forward to once again assist the others in fighting the zombie.

BAM! BAM!! BAM!!!

Attacks rained on the zombie but every time they landed a hit felt like they were hitting a solid wall which caused them to feel a numb sensation in their fingers. The fight continued for a few more minutes and another person was once again thrown back by a sudden leg strike from the zombie, this action was totally out of their imaginations and left them shocked for a few seconds which gave the zombie the chance to attack again.

It suddenly rushed towards one of the men who was standing close to it, its neck bent forward with its hellish opening of a mouth spread wide open as rows of bloody teeth were revealed, and was about to bite on the shoulder of the man.

Gasp!!

The sudden actions of the zombie was so fast that they were finding it difficult to keep up both mentally and in term of speed, the man did not even think before placing his bat above his shoulder as the zombie's mouth bit on it the next second.

BAM! Crunch!!

The bat exploded into splinters after the zombie bite on it, dividing the hard baseball bat into two with a single bite.

The eyes of the man opened wide seeing that his weapon did not survive that bite, he did not dare imagine what would have been left of his shoulder had that zombie successfully gotten his shoulder in its mouth.

"Hurry, get away from it!" Another man shouted before Priscal could voice out the same thing as they all charged at the zombie again and began to attack it like before even though it was proving to be pointless.

They could not just leave the zombie and Walk away, could they? The zombie would definitely not let them go so easily.

The man who had lost his weapon after using it to save his skin quickly went to find something else which was not an issue in this present day earth.

"Just die already you beast!" A woman screamed in a desperate tone as she smashed her steel on the head of the zombie but it did nothing as expected which caused her to bite her lip in frustration.

Right at this moment, they all caught sight of a large number of figures from afar. Due to the low visibility caused by the rain and the fact that the figures were quite far away, Priscal and the group were unable to identify them but what they were sure about was that the numbers of these figures were more than thirty and they were approaching them.

Priscal and the others were completely terrified by this because they thought those approaching figures were zombies as well, after all, who else in their right mindset would roam around in such large numbers? Were they not afraid of attracting the attention of the zombies nearby?

'Why is this happening? Am I going to die like this? I'm still a virgin, sob!' Priscal lamented inwardly while on the verge of tears. They were already having trouble with one zombie but a larger group were heading for them when they could not even run.

"Hey, it's the zombie!" A loud shout suddenly sounded from the group of thirty-plus figures marching towards them under the rain.

"What? That zombie?!"

"Yeah, it is and it looks like there are people fighting with it!"

"Damn, that bloody zombie, we finally found it!"

More voices sounded as the figures got closer enough for Priscal and her group to finally make out their outlines.

They turned out to be a group of thirty-plus men in tattered clothes and were all armed with different weapons, swords, daggers, poles, matches, and so on.

The group wasted no time on Priscal's group first as they all attacked the zombie in military uniform, it appears that they had been searching for the zombie before it encountered Priscal's group.
