It was a week past from the new year festival. The Westminster city of London was still choked up with life and happiness.
Priest Fredrick was home that night, he knew he had to let his son Eugene know the truth about his background. Who really he is, and his role here on earth. He had this weary heart feeling like he had failed to pass on the story of the family, he feels like he had kept the truth so long from his son, the next heir of the long existing priesthood.
During the era of these demons, the priests were left with the responsibility of passing on the throne of leadership and also the knowledge of the invasion of earth by demons, civilization had breached that role, now the world had changed, and the priest no longer had his tabernacle, but now they served in different catholic denominations.
It has been a thousand years of exile, a thousand years since the portal was sealed. And up till the present generation, the role of leadership and the knowledge of the invasion of earth by demons had been passed on. It came to be a secretive priesthood. Passed on, not publicly spoken of again, now the story now sounded too superstitious, LOL, too superstitious to be said to be a coincidence.
But no, it wasn't a coincidence. Maybe the world may have let it slide but no, not for the priest's lineage, we were given a cure, not just the seal, but we were gifted with words to say, words that could only be said by an offspring of the priest's lineage. No other word from any other priest could be disastrous for these demons.
It was now late into the night and every member of Frederick's family had gone to bed. Priest Fredrick could not sleep, he was reckless, he was not able to have a nice sleep that night. He kept hearing voices and whenever he closed his brown eyes to try to grab a piece of sleep he would be filled with so much horror, he would see the demons, he would see the demons about to launch a terrible attack once again on humanity.
This dream had lived long enough to become a reality, this dream had been his greatest companion since his childhood. This dream had lived with him right from the day the knowledge of the demons invasion of earth was passed on to him, he had been tortured in his dream ever since then.
That was the sole reason he felt reluctant to pass on the story to his son Eugene, he knew the torments he passed through, leaving a terrified scream in the room. Soaked with sweat most of the nights and sometimes he would wake up with his heart pounding too fast like it was about to tear open his chest to jump out, maybe it could find comfort in the outer world than being locked up in his body, and whenever he woke up with such a heavy pounding heart he would have teary eyes as a companion.
He had derailed from his dream partially and was caught up focusing on the art of being a successful priest someday. He was just that usual weird young lad in highschool, no friends, his eyebrows gradually had grey hairs, and his physique became manly and his voice was now bass, that was when he came to realize that he never enjoyed his childhood days but rather he was caught up in his own fears and mindset of being the savior of humanity someday.
He was broken, he couldn't match up with his peers, but then he wasn't still bad enough to be called a brilliant graduate of the University of Oxford. He had met his beautiful wife Jemma in his second year of his study at the Oxford University and they both had gotten married after their graduation from the University of Oxford.
He had prayed it all ended in his own time, rather than passing on the grief to another, he was happy when his wife had given birth to Hazel, he kept on believing that his wife Jemma, won't give birth to a son, but then after a year later his wife had given birth to a son, and when he finally heard the cry of his second born, the echo reverberating from the room brought tears to his eyes again. Now he has to face his own fears.
His fears had conquered him, but no more, he couldn't die with the knowledge.
"If while I live I am tormented then howbeit when I shall depart from this world? My soul shall be casted into the hades and tormented day and night in a fiery fire." He had muttered as he looked at his face at the mirror brushing his grey coloured beards with his fingers, he had so much disdain for his face as they were now having wrinkles on his face already. He had walked into the bathroom and washed his face and had cleaned it with his towel.
Priest Fredrick had leaved a Huge sigh as he exited his room to go have a brief discussion with Eugene, it was time to let Eugene know that he wasn't just like every ordinary human here on earth, it was time Eugene comes to know that he was more like a god when it comes to humanity, he was a messiah because he was the only one capable of sealing the portal if broken again.
Priest Fredrick had walked into Eugene's room after he had briefly knocked at the door three times. He had locked his face immediately as he had walked into Eugene's room. He had so much contempt for what he was about to say to his son Eugene, but no, it has to be. Time was no longer on his side, so he had to face his fears. He heaved as he arranged his shirt, he had looked straight into Eugene brown eyes, Eugene had reciprocated the look but in a rather much confused state.
"Why would dad be in my room by this time? Mm hmm I hope all is well? I hope he isn't here to do his sermon things?" Different thoughts had stormed in at a time, he had sat down on his bed not saying a word to Priest Fredrick…..
PRIEST FREDRICK POV:
In a cold and an unclear voice I had called out to him, bringing an end to the few minutes of silence that had occupied the room.
"Eugene?" I wasn't expecting any answer from him, I was still unsure of what I was about to do, I had two options left, either to stand up and walk the hell out of his room or sit down and say whatever thing that needed to be said.
•••
My son Eugene, you know? I grew up with so much torment as a child. I had battled with so many nights of torment and somehow I became more like a ridicule before my peers. It was the truth that had caused a rampage in my life. I couldn't just fit in any longer and I never wanted the same for my boy, but I had to let it out for your good.
You're of the lineage of priests, for over a thousand years now it has kept on passing from generation to generation. I am not just an ordinary priest, I am more like a messiah, like a god when it comes to humanity.
You have always bumped into a book titled the book of demons. It's not just a fairytale book, it's real. Now let me tell you a brief story.
After the first outbreak of the curse, after the demons had settled on earth. The people had consulted the priest, humans died almost everyday, and drought took over the earth. They had offered bulls, rams, and the most healthiest of fruits before the Sovereign Father. Our forefathers was the then priest, and when the Sovereign Father had sent the Imperials and when the Imperials had conquered the demons they spoke to the priest who had succeeded the latter after his death. And then the new priest had written their words down and had written down the event and ever since then the book had been passed down from generation to generation and now I think it is time I pass it down to you.
And my son, never fail to pass it down to your children, keep the fire burning and never let it quench because if it does then forever evil shall conquer good, and the creation of the Almighty Sovereign Father's creation would be sent to the abyss. I had failed to teach you while you were young because I never wanted to be the reason for any trauma you pass through.
I was taught while I was just ten, and I am familiar with the duties of the priesthood. I study the book day and night so you get familiar because I can feel evil lurking around fiercely and when it shall strike it shall strike fiercely.
Now I must let you know the truth, the strange deaths that happened before your birth, years ago even before my birth. There was a major attack on humanity where it seemed like these demons were back on earth, and the world recorded a lot of death. It wasn't just a war for humans, they couldn't win.
The plague from the jungle had inflicted an old man, he had such great art in sorcery and when he was bitten by an alpha wolf he became much more stronger than any human on earth, and he became the first werewolf, when he was in rage he could leave a trail of slaughtered wolves and beheaded humans. He had married from a priest's family and had given birth to Derek. During the early pregnancy of his wife, he had infected a lot of people, turning them to wolves, that was how the werewolves began dominating humanity. The early werewolves had a major problem which was the quest of power.
And they splitted so fast, and we had different packs, the Domino pack, the Flamers pack, the regent pack and the superior of them all was the Zhǔquán de pack, which stood for sovereign. And the Zhǔquán de pack was headed by Alpha Derek. He was a full breed wolf and as such his powers were superior. Other packs reported to him most at times, and he was the most dreaded Alpha, they reported to him the newest packs, the fast growing packs and packs which could stand as a threat, this was done with a selfish motive which was to have Derek help secure their own pack whenever trouble arises.
It was rumored that Derek had also learnt the art of sorcery, making him a demonic wolf like his father. His transition into a wolf was more outrageous than any and seeing him transform could send scorpion stings into any man.
After his eighteenth birthday he had started spreading, conquering nearby packs and attaining more territory to himself. On the full moon night he had assassinated his father and had become the alpha. And he was much more deadly than his father. After the first attack on his territory by the Elite pack which led to the death of his mother, in rage he had attacked the Elite pack killing as many as he could lay his claws on, news reached him days later that the survivors of the Elite pack were trying to rebuild their pack and Derek had ordered that they get destroyed for good and the Domino pack headed by his uncle's son went immediately to kill every remaining members of the pack. The regent pack had rebelled against the Zhǔquán de pack and it marked the second infliction on humanity.
It was later rumored that before the Imperials fought the werewolves, that Derek had impregnated a lady, my father couldn't trace the lady. The imperials had locked the werewolves and it was binded together with the portal that kept the demons away. And if any of the seal binding any of the portal was broken, it would b disastrous because both portals would be open because they were bonded together.
It's believed that his child is somewhere building up the pack and waiting for the right time to strike humanity.
Eugene my son, the world's safety is left in your hands. I never prayed for this day but no before our creation the Sovereign Father had written down the role each of us will play. Never forget my words today Eugene.
Tell me what you desire, my son Eugene? Whatever you say to me I would grant.
"Nothing father. Tomorrow I shall speak to you." Eugene had said, looking at me sternly.
I stood up, and gave a quick look at the mirror which hung close to the window, "Surely he shall witness the second coming of the demons and werewolves. I pray he conquers." I had said within myself as I left for my room.
