Potential Investment to Basic Level

Dante was gazing at his status screen with a widened gaze. He was surprised to have received this much experience and biomass. It was a lot compared to before, and this was a situation where he lost most of his potential profits.

If they didn't manage to escape, how much would he gain?

Such a simple thought started plaguing his mind. And it wasn't an unfounded thought.

Even though he lost most of the Gigantis Kryftis during their wild escape, he still profited a lot from devouring. Besides, it also gave him some extra experience which he could use to increase his attributes to the basic level.

'I wanted to save as much as experience I gained. But that isn't possible in the this circumstances. A lot of my attributes are below one. I should at least increase my speed and agility making my stamina conversion efficiency better than before.'

Dante knew that he needed to gain the basic level of his attributes. Saving a long-term investment wouldn't be useful if he couldn't pass the hurdle before him.

So with this in mind, he sighed to himself while turning his gaze to Roshan.

Roshan stood idly, calmly waiting for the next orders to be given. Dante furrowed his eyebrows as, despite having a lot of scratches, Roshan seemed to be not bothered by it. The scratches might have been considered normal and fortunate by the minion.

But he himself wasn't willing for such scratches to stay on his minion.

He didn't know the biology of the monsters within this world. Though there was one thing, he was sure of. Infections start with little scratches.

"I need to take care of my only minion. I wouldn't want it to fall in an illness while being within the dark forest."

"Besides, I might be able to evolve it into something better."

While Dante was planning to save most of his experience, there was no need to do the same for biomass. The biomass was the currency for his minions, and he only had one before him.

An upgrade was needed. Otherwise, if a strong monster appeared out of nowhere.

They might get defeated and killed.

'I don't want to get eaten, so while increasing my attributes to the basic level. I should evolve Roshan into becoming a better monster.'

This was the thought process trapped within his head. And without hesitation or delay, he went along with such a thought and gazed at his status screen once again.

The edges of his lips rose before calmly uttering at the system.

"Spend thirty experience to increase speed, agility, instinct, and charm to the average level."

There was no need to increase strength, endurance, intellect, and spirit. He planned to increase all of them through training after having most of them reach the average level.

Anyhow, as he uttered such words, a notification screen emerged before him.

Upon the emergence of the notification screen, Dante's body shone with a familiar radiant silver light. It enveloped every inch of his body as he felt a warm feeling deep within his heart. He immediately closed his eyelids and felt a lot of things.

He could feel his body expanding, strengthening, and heightening.

It was a strange feeling of euphoria, and it was none other than the advancement of his attributes.

Dante never thought that the increase of attributes would be this warm and relaxing. He thought it would be painful, but instead, he felt tranquil. It might become addicting if such a thing happened over and over again.

A short while later, the radiant silver light slowly faded into the darkness as the reformation of Dante's body concluded.

Roshan kept staring at him while tilting both of its eyeballs in confusion. It never thought that its master would shine with a brilliant light and turn into someone different.

Dante then opened his eyelids and surveyed his body. He was still fat like before, but he could feel that some of his fatness had become toned down. He was like clay, slowly molding into the body he wanted to have.

"This would mean that I am a sculptor of my body, and the one that would feel the pain of change."

He smiled to himself as he began stretching his body. He was relaxed, and he felt the power he had never thought of feeling before.

Dante was a bit taller than the proto-attribute increase version, and his appearance became a bit sharper than before. But even then, he was still fat.

Though, that didn't bother him that much since he had finally gained an attribute comparable to that of an average human.

It was a dozen times better than his former attributes.

"That felt good."

"But now, it's your turn, Roshan."

Dante smirked to himself while staring at Roshan, who kept tilting its two eyeballs in confusion. He walked near the minion and stood before it.

Directly staring at its eyes, Dante said with a sly smile. "I want you to evolve and become a better version of yourself. It would probably be expensive, but it will be worth it."

For some reason, Roshan felt a bad feeling within its heart. It was as if its master was staring at it like a young girl staring at a doll. With this in mind, Roshan slowly backed away while Dante chuckled.

"You can never escape my grasps."

"So why don't we take a look at the price of your evolution."

He uttered as a new screen materialized before him.

The new digital screen questioned Dante about what he wanted Roshan to become. Now that he had thought about it, he didn't expect that much from evolution. He thought it would be straightforward as long as he paid for it.

It looks like he was wrong.

He needed to choose what or how his minion evolved.

Which was quite an intriguing feature to have.

'What do I want Roshan to become?'

'This is a world with no land, yet shrouded with hundreds of millions of flying islands. For the long term, it would be better for Roshan to have the ability to fly. Like a dragon in my former world.'

'A dragon…'

A realization emerged within Dante's face as a weird expression slowly formed on it. There was nothing stopping him from creating his favorite monsters, correct? Instead of thinking about ideas and wasting hours on creating original monsters, what about he borrows some monsters from the mythology of his old world.

"Hehehe, can't believe I never thought of this until now."

Dante quietly chuckled to himself while mumbling such words. He was someone with the memories of his old world, so why didn't he use it for his own gain? What's stopping him from recreating everything from his former world?

"The more I think about it. The more the path before me clears up and the mist surrounding it dissipates."

"At any rate, I pick the evolution to be akin that of a serpentine dragon in the eastern mythologies. Take some reference from my memories, if needed."

Looking at the cost, Dante's eyes widened as he uttered with a shaken tone.

"W-What?"

"200 Biomass? Meaning that I would need two or more times of the biomass I have to reach the cost."

Dante felt like he was about to go through a heart attack.

Was this what parents would feel if their children wanted something expensive?
