chapter 20: Chaos water

Hearing that there was an item inside the nine-floor divine pagoda that could aid him to achieve a breakthrough so quickly, Feng Li was both shocked and delighted.

Because he had spent so much of his effort and time trying to cultivate endlessly ever since he had mended his meridians by using immortal Shen Xi's blood. Thinking up to this point, he activated his heavenly indestructible divine physique and turned into a gust of wind and disappeared into the distance.

In the span of a few seconds, Feng Li appeared several kilometers away at the foot of the other side of the mountain. He looked at the mountain ahead of him, but he could not see anything out of the ordinary at all.

"Senior, I can't see anything here. What exactly am I after?".

"If it were something that you could easily find, would it even be considered extraordinary by this exalted? Close the distance between you and the mountain. Once you arrive at the edge of its floor, activate your immortal bloodline and touch the wall of the mountain." The mysterious voice said into Feng Li's ears.

"I will do as the senior instructs." Feng Li readily agreed and slowly walked up to the foot of the mountain, and on arrival, he fairly activated his immortal bloodline as ancient runes appeared on his hands as he touch the wall of the mountain.

Rumble!

A loud rumbling sound echoed as the earth around Feng Li shook violently, which caught him completely unprepared as he took five steps back in an attempt to secure himself from the unknown, as the seemingly impervious mountain began cracking and a cave appeared in front of him!

Looking at the two-meter-wide cave entrance in front of him, Feng Li could not help but be astounded. He kept staring at the wall entrance, gust of strong winds which could be heard flowing out of from the very depth of the cave moving out at a very high speed.

"Senior, what is behind this cave?" Feng Li could not hide his curiosity as he quickly asked out.

"Wouldn't it be more fun if you find out by yourself brat." The mysterious voice echoed once again. " Wait for a moment before you walk in." His voice echoed as it contained a sense of seriousness.

"Yes, senior, this junior will obey your words." Feng Li humbly agreed.

Feng Li stood just some inches away from the cave entrance as a gust of strong wind moving at what maybe the scientist from Earth would call a supersonic speed would have described back when Feng Li was still on Earth.

"Take ten steps into the cave entrance and halt there." The mysterious voice echoed in Feng Li's ears again.

Hearing this, Feng Li took ten steps slowly at a time until he arrived a few meters past the cave entrance and halted his movement. Just as he was about to open his mouth and ask for the next thing to do, the sides of the walls of the cave began shining with azure coloured runes as an azure smoke started flowing out from the wall, covering every inch of the area where Feng Li was standing

"Senior, what is this smoke?" Feng Li asked as his heart started pounding quickly in preparation to activate all his defenses at any moment should he face any unforeseen dangers.

"Quickly sit cross-legged and absorb as much of it as you can. It's too beneficial to your immortal bloodline, don't ask any further questions". The mysterious voice called out loudly.

Not wasting any seconds, Feng Li sat down cross-legged and closed his eyes. He released his heavenly soul as it began spinning faster, devouring the azure smoke at a visible speed. As the smoke entered his body, it changed into an azure colored liquid with a dense viscosity and flowed following the Qi path leading to his immortal core next to his dantian.

On reaching his immortal core, the core also begun rotating faster and faster while absorbing all the azure liquid within the qi paths. As it continued absorbing the azure liquid, the core begun changing its colour from red and becoming deep red with sparks of azure strands across its diameter.

After six hours all the azure smoke that had occupied the cave had been sucked dry by Feng Li. Checking his immortal core, Feng Li was left wide-mouthed as it was completely dark in colour and it had grown from the size of a maize seed to the size of a full-grown bean seed. Feeling satisfied, he slowly opened his eyes and breathed foul air out of his mouth.

"Brat, I must say that your level of talent is really so monstrous, it only took you 6 hours to fully absorb all the azure smoke. Back then, it took that brat Shen Xi a whole day to do that!" The mysterious voice said with a lot of satisfaction in his voice.

"It was just luck, senior, nothing more." Feng Li said with a smile on his face.

"Hmmmp." The mysterious voice only chuckled and did not say anything.

"Senior, now what do I do next?" Feng Li asked.

"Walk your way to the very end of this cave. There, you will find the item that will aid you in achieving your breakthrough to the soul transformation realm.

Hearing that the item that could aid him achieve a breakthrough was just at the end of the cave he was standing on, he could not hide his greed as he turned into a gust of wind and sped into the cave at a speed that could rival a fifth-level soul transformation master.

As he sped his way deep into the cave, he discovered that the width of the cave begun widening as so was the light becoming much brighter. Moving at his fastest speed, it took him some few minutes to arrive at the end of the cave. To his surprise, the only thing he could see was a large wall that signified that there was no way ahead of him.

Looking at the wall, a smile cracked on his face as he activated both his immortal bloodline and physique and punched forward to the wall with a strength that could rid of a peak fourth level soul transformation master.

Boom!

A large boom was heard as Feng Li was flung several tens of meters backward and hit a large wall. He spurted a large chunk of blood. Feng Li stood up as his divine physique activated and begun healing his injuries quickly and in the span of a few seconds he was back at his peak state once again.

Looking at cave wall in front of him, he couldn't help but laugh out loudly at himself. He walked slowly towards the wall and stood just some few inches away from it and shut his eyes. He slowly sunk his consciousness to the immortal core. Activating its, azure smoke begun flowing out from his hands as he suddenly opened his eyes and raised his hand to touch the cave wall.

The moment he touched the wall, runes began forming on the wall as it kept on spreading out, while deep cracks began forming. It did not take long for the wall to completely turn into powder in front of his own eyes.

Looking in front, Feng Li could help but be petrified. A small pond was up ahead of him, emitting a strong ancient aura. Just standing there, Feng Li could feel his energy surging.

"What you see in front of you is a pond containing the legendary chaos water." The mysterious voice resounded at this moment.

"Chaos water, I have never heard of it, senior." Feng Li asked.

"Long before the era of the immortals, there existed even stronger beings born out of nothing. During that era, there existed only two world surfaces. These world surfaces were the first entities to be born out of chaos itself. But there was a third entity that was born out of chaos, which was used by those powerful beings during that era. That's this pond you see in front of you." The mysterious voice slowly explained.

"You mean to say that I'm currently standing before an entity born out of that thing you call chaos. Well, is this chaos a woman or something?" Feng Li confusedly asked.

"When the time is ripe and you gain enough strength, you will know about all this. But right now, knowing so much will do you no good but instead cause you alot of harm." Said the mysterious voice.

"I will bear that in mind, senior." Feng Li said.

"Well senior what do I do with this pond of chaos water?" Feng Li asked in succession.

"Get undressed and get into the pond and cultivate. You will achieve a breakthrough in no time at all." The mysterious voice said.

Having heard this, Feng Li quickly undressed himself and walked into the pond and sat cross-legged and slowly closed his eyes and begun absorbing the chaos water.
