Chapter 50. Rey 4: Bustrich

Standing fifty meters away from him was an ostrich...or was it a bull??? Maybe it was a... It was actually difficult to name it. It actually was a misfit.Saying that it was an ostrich was a rash conclusion. Saying that it was a bull was also a rash conclusion.

The beast was three meters tall and its body was two while meters counting it's raised tail. The creature appear to be like an ostrich. It had two legs and and the body and neck of an ostrich. It's two legs were like those of a bull standing one meter tall each.

It was a wonder how those legs were able to support it. On its rear was a tail exactly like that of a bull. Its neck was as long as an ostrich's and reached almost a meter long but was fat than that of an ostrich. Its head was a shocking reality for it was that of a bull with a single horn between its head.

That may not be as shocking but its body was covered with feathers. Around the horn were feathers and one feather grew as long as the horn. The head was a bulls but it appeared slightly ugly. Its legs were covered with both hoves and scale. Its eyes were black.

Rey looked at it and wondered. Where was he supposed to place it. It was obviously like an ostrich for one could see the small wings... Also the head was that of a bull...What to call it? Bustrich? He did not know what to think about this.

Could this be called the results of beastiality? Of course not for the maternal parents were both beasts. Probably a bull and an ostrich. Or maybe it was a rape case. His eyes widened with a suden realization. So even beast had insatiable lust? But this led to his second dilemma. Was the ostrich the raper or the rapee?

Both were possibilities... Rey was already imagining the ostich climbing a cow... That could not be the case the case though. The cow would run away... His second imagination was with the ostrich being mutilated. It actually made some sense.

He could already imagine the bull raising its front legs and placing them on the ostrich's back. He could almost imagine the process and the scene itself was already funny for before he could even finish his thoughts he was already laughing.

He suddenly forgot about his anger. If one saw him, they would thing he had heard the joke of his life. But the bustrich itself had already qualified to be the joke of his life. He could feel his ribs crack as he almost dropped on his back.

He did not even realize the angry stares from the bustrich. He was staring at it and he could not even tell if it was angry or neutral. Its features never changed and only its eyes appeared to change appearing as narrow slits. Its ears kept twitching.

Its gaze could send chills but Rey who was so caught up in his laughter that he could not even realize it. It was then another thought struck him.

"Does it lay eggs or does it get milked?" Rey also realized that he had just assumed it gender.

But he broke out to another fresh laughter as another thought processed. No matter its gender, no creature can afford to open its legs for it... Rey laughed as he corrected his biased thought. Could beasts even open their legs? They would just stand and get the act done or lay on the ground.

Thinking to this point, no beast could stand its legs or lay for it to have the act. He could only pity it but he could not control his laughter. The beast must be in much need for the act and it could even end up as it's father and rape another beast or whatever the act could be called.

His thoughts wandered off again. What other beast misfit could be formed? His thoughts did not seem to end. He was now thinking of something else. Was it born or wasit laid as an egg? It must have been abandoned at birth or laying day.

As he calmed down, his thoughts turned to pity as he imagined the beast going through trauma after being born or breaking the shell and not finding it's parents.

After he was calm, he did not even bother to check the cultivation level of the beast. He laced the sword with red fire and charged at it and he laughed savagely when he realized that it was not running like all beasts he had encountered.

Rey saw the bustrich look at him with disdain. He was glad that it's ugly head did not also come with brains just like a normal ostrich which had bigger eyes than the brain.

He was closing in the distance and he held the sword with both hands. It was pointing to the ground and holding it at his left hip. He appeared to be infront of the sword as it followed behind. Thirty meters from the bull and it still did not move.

Twenty meters but the bull did not move. Ten... Five... He was five meters as he raised his sword and slashed diagonally to the right aiming at its fat neck. He felt the sword break into two at contact as he lost balance and fell on the ground.

Panic struck him as he sat on his butt. He appeared like an ant cowering before a giant. He instinctively crawled back and in that moment of fear, he assesed the cultivation of the bustrich and he felt the world collapse on him.

Holding the broken half of the sword, he swallowed. He looked at the bustrich with pleading eyes. The bustrich all this time had not noticed him. It had poor eyesight. It had realized about him when he attacked it and broke his sword.

It was now staring at him and its features turned. One could actually tell that it was now angry. A mere ant trying to fight it? It was going to trample over it to death.

Rey was now shivering. How had he ventured this deep? He saw the bustrich's angry stare and he again crawled back. He had foolishly attacked a beast three levels above him and he had successfully managed to anger it.

He was now regretting everything. Was it not his anger that caused him to destroy the core of the deer. It was this same anger that now appeared to have led to his downfall. He had to calm down and think. There was not even a single chance for a fair fight. His sword had not even survived the first attack and he had laced it with red fire.

He also knew one thing. He could not outrun it. Having successfully angered it, there was no way it was going to let him go. But he also realized something. It not only had poor eyesight it also had poor memory. He could tell that if its lost his visage it would forget that he existed. He could feel its piercing gaze on him.

The bustrich remembered it was supposed to fight the ant and instantly kicked it. The ant flew and slammed on a tree with its back. It bellowed and charged at it.

If one saw it run they would die laughing especially Rey who had forced his body to sit up. He could feel his body in pain but he did not know whether to laugh or cry. The bustrich ran and one could think that it would fall head first any time.

It ran its body slanting forward like it had been tripped and it was running to try to regain its balance. But it never fell as it reached Rey. Rey at first did not understand its intention but as he did, he just rolled sideways as the bustrich slammed its head into the tree.

The tree shook and leaves fell on the ground. In an instance, it forgot that it had been in the middle of a fight as it stared at the falling dry brown leaves. Rey saw his moment to run. Ignoring his paining back, he stood up and started running.

The beast had poor vision and memory but its hearing was superb. It heard his steps and it looked at its escaping prey. Rey was just ten meters away when he had its bellow.

"Damn beast! Can't you just forget about me already?" Rey asked and he could hear the beast's steps behind him.

It only took six steps while he took three and it was already on his heel. He felt something on his back and he could feel the ground disappear. He could also feel it getting further.

As he processed his thoughts, he stopped moving his legs when he realized that the bustrich was raising him with its horn. He was about to burn his shirt again when the bustrich came to an abrupt stop.

He knew that it had stopped but he was still moving. He could also see the tree moving behind him. If he rated his speed, it awas almost 18 meters per second. He had no control of his body as he was thrown almost fifty meters away.

He had not dropped his sword yet. Also, he realized that he had lost one shoe. He fell on the ground with his face first and slid like ten centimeters with his face still on the ground.

He did not need to look to know that the bustrich was coming at him with a terrific speed.

He felt his nerves go numb as he struggled to move his body. Also, he could not breath with his face in the ground. He took almost five seconds before he could lift his head and catch his breath. His fave appeared to be covered with both dirt and grass. The bustrich was almost ten meters away from him. He knew that if it caught him he would suffer again.

The beast was yet to use an element but brute force was all it could think of. Maybe it had forgotten it had an affinity for a certain element.

Before Rey could even roll and face the sky, the bustrich had already reached him and it leapt into the air.

"Bye Alaric, bye Aurora, goodbye cruel world," Rey said his last words as bustrich was mid air ready to pounce on him.

The beast was almost three tonnes. There was no way he could survive such an attack. 'I can't die yet. I must get strong and defy the heavens. I must learn to cook,' Rey grit his teeth as he rolled few meters away from where it landed. It caused as small crater almost thirty centimeters deep.

For an instance, it forgot hetting carried away by its own crash. This was exactly what Rey had been waiting for. Ignoring all pain he stood up and took five pills swallowing them immediately. He knew that they would not heal him immediately but they helped get rid of the pain and he was going to escape.

"Am coming Alaric," he said taking a deep breath in. Had he not taken the pills, he could not dare take in such amount of air or his chest would hurt like being pierced with a thousand needles.
