The Wedding Invitation

(Anna)

I met my mum's swollen face when I stepped into the sitting room. Did she cry this much in a few minutes? I became powerless seeing them in that situation. I could see they were apologetic about it.

"We are sorry, my angel," My dad spoke up and that was it. I allowed the tears to roll out. They both encircled their arms around me and hugged me tightly.

"The Next Day"

It was Monday and I decided to resume school. I already settled my differences with Derek and I am sure he is going to clear all the rumors he started about me.

I got to school earlier than usual today. There was nobody in the class except me. "Finally, I will be sitting in the front seat," I said, putting my bag on one of the front seats. I heard a clap behind me as I was about to sit down and I turned to see who it was.

I scowled and rolled my eyes when I saw it was Chloe and her minions. How can I forget I still have a problem to deal with?

"Our runaway lifesaver is here again," Chloe said and her minions laughed. My last encounter with Derek has taught me a good lesson and I have vowed not to exchange words with anyone in the school again since all the kids are all from wealthy and powerful families.

Without responding, I carried my bag and was about to excuse them. I wasn't looking at the floor and was unaware of the leg one of Chloe's minions has placed on the way to make me slip.

I took the first step, my leg slipped and I fell to the hard floor. My butt hit the floor hard and I let out a groan and they laughed.

"See her ugly face," Chloe said, pointing at me enthusiastically. At that moment, I wished I had some powers so I can teach them a lesson they would never forget but it was a wish that can never come true. I struggled up and shrugged the dirt off my skirt. I was walking out of the class when a bucket of ice was poured onto my body.

My body became stiff as I stared at them. They weren't feeling bad or remorseful and that was the height of it. I pulled one of her minions closer and grabbed her hair angrily, I was pulling it with all my strength, and hearing her scream made me happy.

I can swear I heard a howl from Chloe as she jumped on me. It was as if she was working with a force. A force pushed me toward the wall and I hit my head on the wall. I fell to the floor and lose consciousness.

(Chloe)

It was an exciting sight to see Anna being embarrassed by my minions. My wolf has been roaring since the day she stepped into the school. I knew it was a way to warn me against her but my hatred for her increased the day she challenged the man I can kill anybody for. I have vowed to make her drop out of school by herself.

Before I could discern what was going on, she had already pulled one of my girls by her hair and she was pulling with all her energy. I was furious and I jumped on her with my wolf strength, pushing her against the wall she hit her head and lose consciousness.

I feel like shifting and pouncing on her but I couldn't do that here in the school. I don't want to scare the girls away. We looked at her for the last time and left the class one after the other.

(Anna)

I opened my eyes slowly and studied my environment. I realized I was in the school sick bay. I tried to stand up but the heavy headache sent my head back to the pillow. "Hey! Don't stand up," I heard a familiar voice caution. I looked up and saw Derek standing beside the bed. What is he doing here?" I thought inwardly and closed my eyes to suppress the pains I was feeling in my head.

"I found you unconscious by the entrance of the class. It looked like you hit your head on the wall. What happened?" He asked and I hissed, turning my back on him. What does he expect? He made it easy for the kids to bully me. He was the root of everything that was happening.

"Thanks for bringing me here. You can go back now," I said without turning to face him. He sighed and left the bay without pestering me. I turned and sat on the bed when I was sure he had left, carried the tea he made, and drank it.

Derek rushed to the class but couldn't find Leah in the class. He was about to leave when he heard Chloe's minions whispering about what ensued between them. Though they were far enough and he wouldn't hear them if he was a human but he was a demon. A demon with sharp hearing skills.

Derek tightened his fist and whisked towards them. "Where is Chloe?" He asked, emitting cold.

Chloe's minions were terrified at the coldness he was emitting and they pointed at the auditorium with shaky fingers.

Derek darted toward the auditorium and met Chloe practicing her singing skills. Chloe stopped singing when she heard footsteps and turned to see who was coming.

She only saw a flash before she was pinned to the wall. She was scared and she roared angrily.

Derek's face darkened and horns began to appear in his head. His face became scary and his fingernails shifted into claws.

"Why did you do that?" He asked, pinning her tightly. He dug one of his nails into her shoulder and blood splashed out of it. She was terrified but didn't understand what he was saying.

"What are you talking about?" She asked, biting her lower lip to endure the pain but it was impossible. A hot tear fell from her eyes.

"Why did you touch my wife? How dare you hurt her?" He asked, his demon voice echoing in the hall.

"Your wife?" She repeated, squeezing her face and trying to remember who she touched. Her squeezed face altered into surprise when she finally thought of Anna.

"What!" She said and anger surged within her. She pushed him away with her werewolf strength and shifted into a werewolf. She was ready to attack him.

She roared and jumped on him but Derek was fast. He transformed invisible and held her wolf by the neck. She groan and struggled. The more she struggled, the more it became tighter.

Derek threw her against the wall and became visible again. He shifted to his human form. Chloe groaned and shifted to her human shape. Her lips were swollen.

Derek took steps towards her. Her heart raced at every step he took. He stopped in front of her and bent to her level.

"Touch a strand of her hair again and lose your life," Derek warned and strode towards the entrance. He stopped and reminded her, "Oh! Tell your alpha he should prepare for my arrival," He footed away. Chloe's sudden wicked chuckle stopped him and he turned, furrowing his brows.

"What do you think the innocent baby will do when she discovers her husband-to-be is a devil?" She asked, an evil smirk plastered on her face. She had nothing to lose after all. It will be to her advantage because she will be able to marry him if Anna leaves him.

Like a twinkle, Derek moved closer to her and clenched her shirt, pulling her face closer to his. Chloe moaned and swung her body, she wanted to release herself from his callous grip. "Try shit with me once and regret ever doing that. I will make sure I wipe away your pack from the surface of the earth," He threatened, stood up, and dusted an unseen dust out of his hands. He arranged his wrinkled shirt and his dangerous countenance changed into an innocent one. He had a cute smile that was making him look like a young boy who was naive about the world's evilness.

"See ya another time," He said and trotted out, leaping like a schoolboy. Anyone who saw him won't think he was qualified to be a king of the demon kingdom.

Chloe's eyes were as red as fireballs as she watched him leave. Her lips were trembling from anger. She groaned and hit the ground. Her inner wolf was also howling. She had never been defeated easily the way Derek did and her inner wolf blamed Anna for it.

"Make sure you kill Anna," Her inner wolf, Janette howled.

I left the clinic after making sure I was okay. I headed to the cafeteria. I got myself some spring rolls and a soft drink, look for a place to sit, and took my seat. I haven't swallowed the first bite when I heard noises behind me. I raised my head and realized they were all staring at something behind me. I stood up ad turned to see what.

It was Derek. Everyone knows him as the school's cute boy. Literally, every female wants to have him as theirs. I hissed and sat back.

"Excuse me, everyone," He said, using the school's microphone. The cafeteria became silent and everyone anticipated what he was about to say.

"Anna and I are inviting you to our wedding which will be taking place next week Saturday. Be there," He said simply, dropped the microphone, and left the cafeteria. I couldn't believe my ears. He didn't discuss my wedding with me and he announced it? Even I, the bride didn't know my wedding day is so close.

All eyes in the cafeteria were fixed on me and I became nervous. I know many girls already took me as their enemy since he chose me. I stood up embarrassingly and left the cafeteria, hurriedly.
