Derek and Anna became sworn enemies the first day they met. Derek did all he could to make Anna beg for his mercy and ended up getting married to her. "I love you," Anna confessed, but Derek brought out divorce papers instead. "The marriage is over," Derek muttered and dropped the papers on the bed. He turned to walk out, but Anna held his clothes and threw him a questioning look. "Why?" She asked with a shaky voice. "We are worlds apart. We are not from the same world," Derek said, looking into her eyes unblinkingly. "What do you mean?" "I am a demon," He confessed and Anna let go of his clothes. What will her next action be? Please save my mother.

(Derek)

There is something weird about Anna. She is getting more interesting the more she is provoked. She agreed to beg for my mercy but strangely, I was sad.

I was sad because I might not be able to provoke her again if she apologized.

Her tiny voice kept sending goosebumps over my body as she apologized but I pretended to be busy with my phone. She hit the table and stood up, ready to allow her surging anger to burst. I was also ready for her explosion.

"I wasn't paying attention to your apology. Apologize again," I said, trying to look for her trouble. She threw me a deadly glance and stood up while scoffing. I smirked inwardly. That was what I want. I don't want her to apologize. My life has not been boring ever since I met her. Watching her escape from my bait will make me a fool.

"Oh! You can't do that anymore?" I added, creasing my brows curiously. I stood up and walked around the house. I opened the room one after the other. I was actually looking for her room. I wanted to see what her room looks like. The third room I opened was her room.

As expected, almost everything in the room has a pink color. She only looked fierce. She still has the traits of a woman.

I did all I could to provoke her but it wasn't working. I felt she wanted to stop me but her father stopped her. I guess they don't want to be on my bad side again. Seeing all my plans weren't working, I sat on the dining chair to buy more time for myself. I needed to think about what to do. She must not escape from my grasp so easily.

An intriguing idea crept into my mind as I stared at the jug of water on the table. "You don't have to beg me. No! I don't want your apology anymore. I want something else," I said, poured myself a glass of water, and drank all in a go. This water is a stroke of good luck.

"Marry me," I said, and everywhere went silent. The sound of the tiniest object could be heard if it fell. Anna's father wiped an imaginative sweat from his forehead.

Anna's mother felt dizzy and fell on the couch, unconsciously. She was staring at the space and was looking dumbfounded.

Anna stood up and walked towards me slowly. She stood in front of me and Jo bent her head closer to me. "What did you just say?" She asked and my lips curled into a devilish smile. My eyes were shouting mischievousness and I was sure she could see it.

"Marry me," I repeated and she laughed hysterically. She held her stomach which was hurting due to laughter and sat on the dining chair beside me.

"You must be mad," She shouted. She stood up and ran to the door. She opened the door widely.

"Get out!" She commanded. Her veins were popping out due to the rate of her anger. I chuckled inwardly and opened my mouth to talk but nothing was coming out.

"I said you should get your fucking ass up and take your filthy legs out of my house," She said, removing her slippers from her legs and throwing them at me. I stood up and left the room unhurriedly. She hissed and slammed the door behind me. She sat on the floor and hugged her legs tightly. The tears she was deterring from falling streamed down.

Her parents looked at each other and went to their room. They were aware she needed some time alone.

(Anna)

I thought I heard wrong when Derek asked me to marry him. I asked him to repeat what he said and he did. My ears were fine. He actually asked me to marry him.

He might be the son of a billionaire and a university genius but he is nothing but a psychopath to me. How can I get married to a psychopath? A man who almost ruin my family and me?

I will never forgive myself if I mistakenly get married to him.

I slammed the door behind him and fell to the floor. I hugged my legs and allow the tears that were threatening to fall stream down freely. I needed to pour out my frustration. Meeting Derek was a huge mistake, talking to him or challenging him is an unforgivable sin. If I had known, I wouldn't have tried to save that girl. My parents left the room and allow me to have some time to myself.

I cried my eyes out and drowse off.

"Kpaaaakk kpaaakk," I heard a bang on the door, forcing me to open my eyes. I stood up and realized I had slept by the entrance. Another bang came but this was louder this time. "Hey! Who is....," I tried to talk while opening but halted when I saw the mob of people in front of our house. They were the same people that left a while ago but their faces were more vicious.

They looked like they were ready to murder anybody who tries to stop them. I was terrified looking at their faces. "Mom! Dad!" I shouted with my eyes still fixed on them.

"What is it?" Mum and Dad hurried out and almost fainted when they saw the furious faces. Derek must have done something again. I wondered what is wrong this time.

"You and your family have decided to ruin us. The government is here with bulldozers and they are ready to destroy the houses," The village head let out furiously.

I underestimated Derek. He is more than the bastard I thought he is. He is already here with bulldozers when he just left our house a few minutes ago.

The mob started throwing stones before we could defend ourselves with words. We bowed our heads and were about to dash in when one of the mob caught my mother's hand and he pulled her closer to them. "Ah!" My mum screamed and fell to the floor. She broke her ankle. I stopped running and turned to run over to the mob but my father held my hand, stopping me from going closer. I wanted to protest but he shook his head.

"They are angry. You are their target. If you go to their midst now, they are going to hurt you without delay and they might even kill you. I am sure your mother wouldn't want you to come too. She knows the danger involve," Dad said and I glanced at my mother. Tears were teeming down her face.

"Don't come closer, Anna. They will hurt you. They are going insane," My mother cried out. I was transfixed on that spot, looking helpless and pathetic. My mom is in danger and I couldn't think of the right thing to do to save her. I have only one option left and that is getting married to Derek.

"I will get married to you, Derek. Please, save my mother. I promise to get married to you," I shouted. Tears were flowing freely down my face. My nose was covered with mucus.
