Immortal Bond With You

Anna Green lived her life as a human without knowing the kind of power she possessed but everything changed the day she met Derek Hunter, a demon lord who was also living in the human world. Derek and Anna became sworn enemies the first day they met. Derek did all he could to make Anna beg for his mercy and ended up getting married to her. "I love you," Anna confessed, but Derek brought out divorce papers instead. "The marriage is over," Derek muttered and dropped the papers on the bed. He turned to walk out, but Anna held his clothes and threw him a questioning look. "Why?" She asked with a shaky voice. "We are worlds apart. We are not from the same world," Derek said, looking into her eyes unblinkingly. "What do you mean?" "I am a demon," He confessed and Anna let go of his clothes. What will her next action be? Will she continue to love him? What is going to happen when she discovers she is also a supernatural being?

Kubwa Village

Anna's mother raised her hand and slapped him hard on his face. "That is for not having some manners," Anna's mother said. Her eyes were filled with balls of fury.

Anna also held her face, she was surprised by her mom's action. Before she could say another word, another slap landed on his face, "that's for messing with my daughter,"

"Ah!," Anna flinched.

Derek Hunter stepped back and cleaned the blood on his lips. He was speechless and void of emotions. No one could know what he was thinking at the moment and that got Anna more scared. She has experienced his ruthlessness just because she pushed him into a pool. What would he do to someone who had slapped him?

"Mom! Please stop. You have to stop now," Anna pleaded, her voice was shaking and fear was written all over her face. She doesn't want to imagine the way their lives will be now. The man in front of them is a psycho. He will do anything to take his revenge on anyone who offends him and now her mother just slapped him. Not once but twice.

"When you see her next time. Run away," My mum said, jerked her hands, and walked away while she followed behind, turning every moment to look at him. This man is unpredictable.

"Mom! Why did you do that?" She asked as soon as they got home. Her father has finished packing.

"Why won't I do that? I can see the way he was trying to take advantage of the situation. I should have punched his lips," Her mom muttered, tightening her hands into fists.

"You shouldn't have. That man is a psycho. He can do worse," Anna let out and sat on the floor. She was tired. How did she get here? She should have minded her business that day instead of being entangled with Derek.

"Don't worry, Anna. We are only sent out of this city and not out of the world. Let's go and start a new life in my village," Her mother said, placing her head on the table and sobbing. Anna looked at her father and tears fell from her eyes too. She was the reason all these were happening to them.

(DEREK)

I got slapped by Anna's mother. It wasn't once but twice. I left the bus station after they were gone, hopped into the black Venza that was waiting for me and the chauffeur drove home.

I hopped out of the car immediately after we got home and headed to my bedroom. I met my parents in the living room but I wasn't in the mood to chat with any of them.

I switched on the lights in my room and flopped on the bed. My back was on the bed, I was facing the ceiling. The scene from earlier flashed in my eyes and I couldn't help but get more aggravated. I stood up, carried the lamp, and threw it to the wall. I will make sure I destroy Anna and her family. I will follow them wherever they go to. It is either they beg for my mercy or live a worthless life.

I brought out my phone and dialed a number, the receiver picked up the third ring. "Shsssh! Make sure you follow them till the end and don't forget to send me news about them," I said and hung up without waiting for the receiver's response. I threw the phone on the bed and my lips curled into a smirk. "The game is getting more interesting,"

Anna and her parents got to the train station very early and they were able to board the first train for the day. They got to her mother's village, "KUBWA VILLAGE" after spending 14 hours on the train. The family was sober throughout the journey. They reminisce about the lives they've spent in America and tears couldn't stop rolling out. They have to leave everything behind and start a new life in a village that is not yet civilized.

"It's okay, Anna. You don't have to cry. Families are meant to standby each other in times like this," Her mother said, hugging her from the back. Anna turned and hugged her tightly. She wept.

"I am sorry, mom," She said amidst tears. The duo cried their eyes out and continued the journey after crying.

Anna's grandmother's house was a three-bedroom duplex. It looked old outside but the interior still looked new.

Anna couldn't help complimenting the house as they walked in. "It seems like moving here isn't a bad decision after all," Anna exclaimed, dropping the bags she was carrying on the couch. She scrutinized the living room with her eyes.

"I will go and prepare dinner. Darling, show Anna her room so she can relax while I prepare dinner," Her mother said, footing towards the kitchen.

Anna's father showed her to her room before he also went to the master bedroom to take a hot bath. The journey to Kubwa village wasn't easy.

Anna slumped on the bed as soon as she got to her room. She sat up, closed her eyes, and inhaled the scent of the room. Her lips curled into a sweet smile. She checked the drawer and couldn't help humming her favorite song, "Halo" by Beyonce.

"Make sure you take your bath, Anna," Her mother shouted from the kitchen, jolting Anna out of her dreamland. She rushed into the bathroom, had a quick bath, and hopped out of the bathroom. She tied her hair in a ponytail, wore her yellow nighties and fluffy slippers, and headed to join her mother in the kitchen. Her mother was already done cooking dinner by the time she got there.

"Set the table, Anna. I will quickly take my bath and join you. Where is your father?" Her mother asked, looking around and Anna shook her shoulders.

"He might still be in the bedroom," Anna replied, arranging the plates on the dining table. Her mother nodded and went to the bedroom.

Her parents came to join her at the table after some minutes. They were both looking radiant like their lives have been always peaceful. They said their prayers before the meal and started digging into their food. The family ate silently.

"Mom! I love the way we eat like a family tonight. It's been a long we did that. America has been filled with hustling and bustling," Anna said excitedly. She packed the dishes and took them to the kitchen.

"Don't worry, my angel. We will do that often here," Her mother said.

Anna did the dishes and was about to go back to her room when she heard a knock on the door. She wanted to ignore it but didn't have a choice when the knock persisted. She sighed and headed toward the door and opened it.

"Ahhhh!" Anna screamed and slammed the door back. She was breathing heavily and was looking terrified. It looked like she had just seen a ghost.

What did she see?
