Chapter -1.7 ~ Ana's Birthday

It was heavily raining in the morning, Mom was making pancakes for us, especially for Ana, as it was her b'day, Granny was packing things, "Where are you going?", mom asked, "to vampire market", Granny answered, "why you have to go there ? it's not for you, also it's Ana's birthday party tonight", mom said. "I don't like party and all, I have to go", she said. "where is this vampire market, ohh does vampires go shopping there, is Granny a vampire ? ", Ana said excitedly. "Shut up, your Granny is not a vampire, eat your breakfast", mom said. "You girls can't mind your own business, and I have to go", Granny said. "Granny never cared for us, or even love us", Ana whispered in my ear, "Jane have you ever been to this vampire market? what it's like? Do vampires go there shopping ?", she asked me, "no it's a normal, it's just named so, and vampires don't even exists", said I. "I wonder, 'if we were vampires', how it would have been, as Aunt Julia was one". "Girls eat your breakfast", said mom. Mom wished Ana, and gave her a beautiful blue gown, with pink crystal all over it, "Your Dad and I was preparing for your birthday, he had bought it long ago", said mom. "Ohh I love it, thankyou mom", said Ana very excitedly. "How is it Granny?", Ana asked, "yeah it's good", she answered reluctantly.

Ana then went to her room and tried it on, she was looking very pretty, she then went into the basement to show it to uncle John. Mom was already there, "Be careful, do not stain it, you have to wear it in evening", mom said, and invited uncle John for the party. We all then went upstairs, mom was preparing to bake a cake, everyone else was preparing too for the evening party, "mom, when will Dad be with us again, I miss him", said Ana. Mom didn't answer, "you help your sister", said mom to Ana. "Have you invited people from the vampire market ?", I asked mom, "no they can't be hear, I mean even if I will ask them to, they won't come", she answered. "then can we take some food and cake for them", I asked again, "ofcourse you can", mom said, "can we take Ana also", I asked, "I have told you specifically to not tell Ana about these things, she is just a kid", she said annoyingly. Granny was talking to someone one phone, "I will be there tonight, I have to meet her, I don't care even she kills me, I want that property, money and power", "who are you talking? and you can't go there", mom said, Granny put off the phone, and said to mom, "I know what you are doing?", she said to mom annoyingly and then went into her room.

It was 6 in evening, some of guests arrived, few of our very close relatives and friends, everyone of them was asking about Dad, all of us has only one answer, "he has gone to Florida for his new novel", Ana came down wearing her same blue dress which mom has gifted, she was wearing that pink locket too, I ran to her, "you should take off that locket, if mom got to know, she will scold me", I said nervously, "why would she do that, did you stole it", she asked, "yes, yes, I did, please take it off", I said anxiously, she put the pendent of the locket inside her dress, but didn't take off, "come Ana let's cut the cake", mom said. Everyone gathered around, even Granny was there, Ana was happy to see her, there were two cakes on the table, someone has send Ana's favourite vanilla cake, she was so happy to see it, none of us knows who sent it, Ana then cut the cake, everyone asked what did she wished for, "I wished to become a vampire", she said strangely, everyone laughed at her, "ohh kid you are so funny", one of them said. Everyone then danced, ate, chit- chat, I was enjoying with my friends too, suddenly I saw Granny, she moved out of the house hastily, then I looked around for Ana, she was also not there, maybe she is in her room with her friends, so I searched for her, but I can't find Ana, then I stopped by mom's room and I was shocked with what I saw, I saw mom and uncle John making love, they were naked together in the bed, mom saw me, she was very embarrassed, but I ran away, at that time, I was so perplexed, I stood by the window looking out, I saw Aunt Julia in the backyard wearing same white hoody , as I her in the vampire market, suddenly a hand grabbed my shoulder, "I am so sorry, I was caught up by the emotions and fantasy", said mom, "we need to find Ana first, she is nowhere, I have searched the whole house, also I saw Granny going outside, and I saw Aunt Julia too in the backyard, wearing her same white hoody", I said everything in one go to mom, "what's going on? okk relax, first we have to find Ana, I told earlier also she is not Aunt Julia", mom said anxiously, "that vanilla cake is also missing since Ana is missing, despite no one ate it", said I. "I shall see on terrace, if she is with her friends", said mom and ran to the terrace. I ran outside and saw Granny across the street, she was not able to start her car, due to some glitch, I somehow managed to get into the trunk of the car, as it's lock was broken luckily, Granny then started the car, I don't know where she is going, as I can't see anything, after about half an hour, car stopped, I could feel her going out of the car, so I peeped, it was 'vampire market', she was talking to someone, I can't see his/her face due to that black hoody he/she was wearing, Granny gave him a ring, and came back, I hid back, she drove back home, Granny went in, then I did so, "where were you Jane? have you found Ana?", mom asked, before I could answer Granny did, "ohh Ana has gone with her friends, she asked me, I gave her the permission", "At this hour, in middle of her own birthday party", mom asked, "I can't find you, she asked me, so I gave her the permission, she will be back by morning, by the way where were you Renie ?" said Granny. I can see embarassment on mom's face, no one answered, guests left, we also went to sleep, I haven't seen uncle John since I had seen him with mom, maybe he left then. Mom then came to my room, "I am sorry Jane, you would be thinking how bad your mom is", she said will tears in her eyes, "I don't have anything to explain, will you ever forgive me?", she asked, I didnt know what to say at that moment, but I asked, "Do you love uncle John?", "No it was just a slip of moment, I only love Jacob", "you know Jane there are certain you don't know, it is one of those, for now I can only say that I have done this for Jacob, and I can't explain you much", she then left and I don't know when I slept thinking all this.

It was 5 in the morning, there was someone at the door, before I could come downstairs to open the door, Granny opened it, it was Ana, she looks fine, she came and gave a letter to Granny by stealth, and ran upstairs, she saw me but didn't say anything and ran to her room, and locked it from inside.

Uncle John came, he behaved so normal with me as if nothing happened, he showed all of us his completed work, and asked mom to go with him to Florida to buy some stuff, as there was his friend who owns a huge upholstery showroom, "it would take 2 days, to buy stuff, pack up the things and bring them all over here, so we will stay there for 2 days", uncle John said, "I will think about it", said mom, mom and me then went upstairs, "should I go with him?", mom asked me, I didn't answer, "if you want you can come with us", she asked again, "no I trust you, you can go with him", I replied, "ohh my daughter, you are a big girl now, I will come back as soon as possible, remember we are doing this all for your father", said mom, "how come this be for Dad, nevertheless it is betraying him", I said to myself. Mom then went into her room, I walked behind her to ask about Ana, but I saw her packing those things which she bought from vampire market, no clothes and nothing else, but only those colorful solutions, oils and lockets. I didn't talk to her.

I went into the room I saw Ana she was sleeping, I woke her up, "Where were you Ana?", I asked, "Aunt Julia took me with her, she is very nice, she is still alive, you know that cake, she sent it for me", said Ana excitedly, "but Granny brought me back", said Ana annoyed with Granny. "You should not go with her, she is a vampire", said I, "does mom knew?", I asked again, "Aunt Julia wants me to be with her forever", said Ana, "we should tell mom about this", said I, "how come she is alive?", asked Ana. We then told everything to mom, "I told you mom, she is alive", said I, "first tell me, did you ate the cake?", mom asked Ana, "please tell me that you haven't, please..." mom said with dread.
