Chapter 11 - They finally meet

Narrators POV

Kendy opened her eyes expecting to feel the pain of dog paws on her stomach, but instead it was the annoying sound of her alarm.

The girl did her morning routine, expecting her mom to be at work, but to her surprise, she was still in the house, making breakfast for herself. As if the teenagers mother would do anything for her daughter. Not even breakfast. Although, Kendy wasn't surprised. It was her emotionless mother after all.

As the teenager didn't want to spend a lot of time with her mother, she didn't make breakfast, just to avoid someone else that was in the kitchen.

She took her bag, that had some extra clothes and went out of the house, not even saying anything to her, supposed, guardian.

Her black outfit and mood matched with the gloomy looking sky. The alleyway trees also looked down. It was like the girls emotions were painted in the sky and trees. Like Mother Nature wanted to show that this is no day to be happy.

When Kendy reached her new school, half of the students were already there.

Everybody was standing outside, waiting for busses that will lead to the Wild forest.

Kendy went to stand near the schools entrance. And what she didn't expect was anyone to approach her, but to her surprise, someone did.

" Hi! Remember me? I'm the girl that sat next to you in one of the classes yesterday! Are you excited? Oh, I don't think you told me what was your MD. Could you please enlighten me? "

Alexia threw the questions at Kendys face unexpectedly.

" Uhh, uhm, Hi. "

Kendy said in a small and sad voice. But than remembered that she, probably, will be moving soon anyways.

" I'm sorry for what I am about to say, but I really don't need friends, so please, stop talking to me. "

Alexia was more than stunned at what she heard. It was unexpected, as she was one of the most charming women in the school. And it's not often she gets rejected.

" O...oh, okay. In that case, I hope you do well in the test. "

She went to he group of friends with a damaged pride.

It started to look like everybody was here, and the teachers divided all of the students into four school buses judging by their MD.

' And than there was an extra vehicle for...animals ' Kendy thought, as she was the last one getting on one of the last busses.

From what she heard the other students talking, this was a bus for students who have passive MD.

' I guess they know that I'm not much of a fighter. '

The ride there was pretty quiet, but it did have a lot of pretty students. Well, more than usual that is.

But what cached Kendys attention wasn't the amount of beautiful people on this bus, but a girl that she saw in her first PE lesson. The girl on the silver horse.

Kendy was sitting on the front of the bus, and the pretty girl sat somewhere in the middle.

She looked sad and lonely, while looking out of the window. The pretty girl had shoulder length, wavy and brown hair.

Kendy couldn't see what colour the pretty girls eyes were, but she assumed they were brown. And that's when she realised she was staring.

Kendys POV

' Why am I staring at her? What am I doing? What the heck is happening?

Okay. I was just looking at her, just so I could feel like there is tons and tons of more beautiful people out there than me.

But wow, look at her amazing style. I mean, she too is wearing all black, but still, she looks amazing. '

I felt the bus coming to a halt and than a teacher interrupting my stari...I mean my star..gazing. What? Stargazing? WHat am I smoking?

" So. As you all know this will be a test. This tests goal is for teachers to determine what and how good your MD is and for students to improve their team work and, of course, make new friends. All of the students will be divided into groups of three. The group division will be based on not power or friends, but on the knowledge of others. As in, a team consisting of students who have no idea who the other one is. Any questions? "

" Yes, Trantor. What is it you wanted to ask? "

The teacher asked one of the students that had his hand raised.

" How long will this test be? "

Trantor asked the question that, probably, everyone was wondering.

" Good question, but I don't have an exact answer. The longest test was 37 days and the shortest was 2 days, but the medium time for this test is, usually, around a week or two. So, if those were all of the questions, get out, don't forget your bag and go to the first bus teacher, Sir Biton, for the group list and than just survive in the Wild forest. Oh yeah, if anyone of the group is injured, all of the teachers will be here the whole time. Good luck! "

I took my backpack and went to the first bus teacher for my teams names. It looked like the first bus MD were some kind of hippies, I don't know, they looked like that, but hey! I'm not judging.

I had to wait in a line to get my groups list and it took me like an hour. When I finally got it, I was in a team with Olo Palstic and Patricha..Calaham. Oh my God! It is the girl whos thoughts I saw the other night. Okay, calm down.

Now, how do I find them if I don't know how they look like. Hmm, maybe I should ask the teacher, but...and than I saw the pretty girl and another student heading my way.

My heart started beating faster for some reason and I begun to get nervous.

Why is my body betraying me?

" Hi! I'm Olo Palstic and this is Patricha Calaham. We are a team! Oh, and by the way, my pronouns are they them, so don't call me she or him, kay? "

Olo looked a bit scared when they said Patricha Calaham, why is that, I don't know.

I'm also glad that I didn't snoop thru her thoughts, otherwise, I would feel AWFUL knowing what I shouldn't about her without her permission. Wait, It's not like I was planning on telling her that 'I saw everything' to her. Why am I worrying about such dumb things. Listen here, Brain, if you do not stop thinking about stupid things and making my body do stupid reactions to certain people, I will...I will...pf. Just stop.

" Oh, Hi! I have no idea how you guys knew how I looked like, but my name, as you probably know, is Kendy Saile. Nice to meet both of you. "

As I finished saying, Patricha left. I was confused. Maybe I said something that offended her?

" Where is Patricha going? " I asked Olo.

" Oh, she's just went for her SA. "

These people with the non English words again.

" Sorry, after what? " I asked, trying to sound like I didn't hear what they said, not trying to sound like I didn't know what they were talking about and maybe they would explain in more detail.

" For her SA...You do know what a SA is, right? "

Crap! They got me.

" Ohh. No, It's okay. I can explain, but we should get moving or this student sea will separate our team. "

We started moving in Patrichas direction while Olo was explaining to me what is a SA.

" So, a SA means Summoned Animal. Every human that has MD can get one at an unspecific age. We summon them when we feel that we are at some kind of danger, physical or mental doesn't matter. So, while we are at this dangerous situation, we do this ritual in our heads and this ritual comes to us like an instincts. Also, there isn't a single ritual that is the same and until we are at this danger, we have no idea what the words are to this ritual. Did I explain that understandable? "

They asked me and I just nodded, thinking of what kind pf danger had Patricha been in to have summoned her SA.
