1: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.

The alarm clock buzzed loudly beside Lu Zhi's ear. Feeling like a gong that was being hit repeatedly was placed right beside her head. She sluggishly pulled herself out of her bed and dragged herself to her closet. The words, first day of school moaned ghastly in Lu Zhi's head. Summer was uneventful and school was just going to be hell. She picked out an old, worn out flannel and a black plaited skirt, a white shirt and a pair of white socks and black shoes to wear. Not rushing at all, she struggled to put the raggedy clothes on. They smelt like horrendous lies and rumors. She combed her hair and held it up in a ponytail. Her school bag was just a few metres away from her but she felt like dying, she pulled it with her left leg and placed all the books she needed in it.

Outside her bedroom window, the city was boisterous filled with all types of morning activities with the sun shining brightly through her curtains.

Lu Zhi looked at herself for the last time as she turned around to see if her old uniform still fit her well, she smiled amiably exposing her eggshell white teeth and finally spoke out " Wish me well, today!"
