Getting closer.

Alec watched Gwen sleep. It was already coming to noon but she was still sound asleep. She looked so peaceful , like she was in a paradise of her own. Alec just hoped he didn't exhaust her completely because of last night . After all , she was still injured , but he just couldn't stop himself . They'd made love over and over again. Just the thought of it made him smile.

Gwen's eyes fluttered before opening completely. Alec was leaning on his side with his hand supporting his head. He had already had a bath and was in a white vest and grey sweatpants. He made casual wear seem like red carpet material. His eyes glided over Gwen and a dirty smile graced his fine face then Gwen suddenly realized the cool breeze hitting her back. She was uncovered from her waist up . She quickly scrambled for the bed sheets and covered herself.

" Pervert!" She mumbled under the covers. Alec chuckled and his arm around her sheet covered body.

" I've seen everything already so there's no point hiding . " His hand pressed on her waist making her squirm.

" Mr. Reinster, aren't you ashamed to be harassing a patient? " Gwen lowered the sheet just enough for her hazel eyes to peer out. Alec pulled her closer . Her eyes always took all his attention . They were so big , beautiful and the fact that they were hazel made her look like an angel or a mystic nymph. Her hair was a mess and her head was still dressed. She looked adorable.

" Well I happen to have knowledge of some very helpful ways to take care of this patient." He licked his lips and Gwen's mind exploded. Was it normal to get turned on so fast? She turned her back to him. Alec rested his chin in between her neck and shoulder. " Why did you turn ? Do you prefer it from the back ? "

Gwen's ears twitched when his lips bit them. She jumped out of the bed still wrapped in the bedsheets. " I'll go take a shower!" She yelled as she ran into the bathroom.

Leo stood outside Gwen's house for a long while before gathering the courage to ring the doorbell. He'd been thinking a lot lately. He didn't want to lose Gwen because of his love for her. He'd rather have her as a friend than as nothing at all. He was so lost in thought that he didn't even notice the door opening.

" Leo? Leo?" Marylynne snapped her fingers in his face. He blinked confusedly and smiled.

" Hi Marylynne." He hugged her. She'd always been a second mother to him after he'd lost his mom when he was little. Gwen's family was his and his family was hers.

" It's been ages. Did you forget about me ?" She pinched his cheek. " Come on in."

When they were seated , she offered him her famous ginger tea. She knew it was his favourite and he loved the way she made it.

" I tried calling Gwen a couple of times but her phone wasn't going through so I decided to come here and check on her. " He put the tea cup on the table before him.

" She hasn't been home since the day before yesterday. I was worried until Bain called and said they had some work somewhere far. He said she'd lost her phone and she'd call when she got the chance."

Marylynne's words only made Leo worry. He knew Gwen's job could get dangerous . Why would Bain make up something like that ? He just hoped Gwen was okay. He had to meet Bain and get clean answers.

" You're not going anywhere , not in this state. " Alec held her hand to stop her from walking out the door. Gwen sighed.

" I have to let Bain know that I'm alright and my mom must be sick with worry . " Gwen tried to explain to him.

" Call them . You don't have to leave and I'm quite sure Bain already made up something to calm your mom down . " Alec handed her a brand new phone. " Call them ."

Gwen tensed by the way Alec casually spoke about Bain. She had many questions from the moment she'd opened her eyes and realized that Alec had saved her . She wanted to ask how he found her and more importantly, how he saved her.

" You always have your way don't you ?" Gwen took the phone from him and dialed her mom's number. The phone was ringing and as it did she looked at it. The phone was brand new and it looked expensive, latest model.

" It's for you since you lost your old one. "

" I can get a new one by myself , Alec. So thanks , but no thanks. " She waved the phone in his face. " I'll return it after calling."

" It's a gift from me and you have to accept it .There are no other options. " He held her wrist and pulled her closer. " Otherwise, I'll make sure I break every other phone you touch ."

Gwen blinked a few times. " No need to get so murderous over a phone , okay." She smiled. " Okay, I'll take it bu-" Her mom answered the call , finally. She looked at Alec who still hadn't let go of her.

" Hello...who is this?"

" Uh...Mom , it's Gwen. " She ignored Alec and spoke to her mom.

" Are you okay? Bain told me you had some work some place far and that you'd lost your phone. Did you get a new one?"

" Yes , mom. I was just calling to let you know that I'm...I..." Alec started to kiss her neck and the words just seemed to get stuck. He was teasing her.

" Gwen , I didn't get that last part."

" I'm fine . " She tore away from Alec's grip. " I'll be home in two days or so." Before she was done, Alec snatched the phone from her .

" Hello , Marylynne , it's Alec . Gwen will be back by the weekend. Nice to hear from you . Bye." Just like that , he ended the call. Gwen's mouth was hanging open.

" Why did you say that? " Gwen poked him in the chest. " Today is a Monday. Do you expect me to stay with you for five whole days?"

" It's normal . Most girlfriends do stay with their boyfriends." Alec smirked. " Dont worry. I won't give you any chance to complain. " Alec put his hands in his pockets and ascended the stairs. Gwen just watched him and smiled. Yes , she'd had boyfriends before but she'd never stayed more than a day with any of them. Some how she felt happy to stay here with Alec...alone. Her trance was broken when Alec came down the stairs in a navy blue suit . His hair was neatly placed and he was adjusting his wrist watch. He looked ravishing and Gwen felt butterflies in her tummy.

" I've told you several times not to drool like that. Atleast learn how to do it in a decent manner. " He spoke without taking his attention away from his watch. This only made him look hotter and Gwen's eyes were stuck. He stood a few inches from her and crossed his arms .

" Let's go." His words confused her. Go where? She was in his oversized sweater and she was literally swimming in one of his sweat pants. There was ni way she'd go anywhere like this!

" Go where?"

" To work. I have to go to the office and I can't leave you here . "

" You can just go without me. I can manage just fine on my own." Gwen imitated him and crossed her arms.

" I have to keep an eye on you. I won't be calm unless you're close. " He held her arm and dragged her to the door. Gwen protested and sat on the floor. She made herself dead weight but Alec didn't budge. He sighed and carried her in his arms like a princess.

" Put me down! I can't go out in public dressed like this! " Gwen bickered.

" But I think you look cute. " Alec kissed her and shut her up.
