The Dead Awakened

Henry remained in a dazed state, doing what he was asked without any question. He grabbed the Chemoian sword from where he had rested it next to his bed and quickly went down the stairs and outside.

"Marie," he called. "Why are you here?"

He heard his name off in the distance and he ran forward.

Once he made it to the edge of the small village, he saw a tall building, on the verge of collapse. It looked like it had faced flames before it was given up on and abandoned.

"Henry, I'm in here. It burns! Oh, it burns!" the princess shouted.

He didn't once question it and he ran into the crumbling structure.

The darkness was expansive and it was almost impossible to see despite the partial moonlight outside.

"I can't see," he said. "Where are you?"

There wasn't a response to him, only the pleas for help.
