Chapter 45 : Leaving The City To Hide From The Royal Palace

Just as he was going to held Bai Lian's hands and walk to Hua Yue and check the situation there, the system sent him another message.

[ THE FOLLOWING SIDE QUEST WILL BE GIVEN TO THE HOST ]

[ DESCRIPTION : THE HOST HAS MANAGED TO FIGHT OFF THE FIRST BATCH OF ATTACK SENT BY THE ROYAL PALACE, BUT THE ROYAL PALACE ISN'T READY TO GIVE UP YET. THEY HAVE SENT ANOTHER ARMY TOWARDS THE HOST'S LOCATION. THE SOLDIERS SENT IS ESTIMATED TO HAVE 0.01% OF THE HOST STRENGTH. THE SYSTEM SUGGEST THE HOST TO HIDE FIRST AND INCREASE HOST'S STRENGTH TO THE LIMIT BEFORE FIGHTING THEM AGAIN ]

'Does this mean another army is on the way? Moreover, one that has a high chance of killing me?' he thought.

"What's happening, papa?" Bai Lian asked

"It's nothing, I'm just thinking of ways to fight against the coming army of the royal palace."

"Does that mean we're going to have another battle against the royal palace, my lord?" Hua Yue, who came to report, asked

"No, not we. From what I know, the coming army has soldiers who possess 0.01% of my strength. This means that it should only require 100 of them to threaten me, and it is definitely impossible for the royal palace to only send that much people over."

"Does this mean my lord will need to leave the City of Memories?" Hua Yue asked

"Yes, so that you guys will not get killed by the royal palace. The royal palace should only be able to track me. So if I leave, they will think that you guys have followed."

"I... see. I understand my lord, but let me at least send my lord and Princess Bai off."

"Don't worry, I won't leave right now. I still have thing that I need to pack up before leaving. Bring me to the injured first, Bai Lian will heal them."

"This way my lord." 

They then went to see the injured ones. The injured ones wanted to get up and greet Wang Qian, but he quickly made them lied back down. Bai Lian then went around using [ Healing ] on all of them, after doing so she came back to the side of Wang Qian.

"That'll be it for now. I'll be bringing Bai Lian back to the mansion first, we have to pack things up after all."

"Then I'll order someone to give my lord some delicacy so that my lord and Princess Bai can taste them while away from the city."

"Thanks a lot then. By the way Hua Yue, can you help establish a link with a general near this city? I'll head there after dealing with the incoming army."

"Replying to my lord, I do. This general is from the Home of Weapons. It is a city that supplies high quality weapons to the royal palace. The general's name is Tie Feng ( Metal Peak I guess ). He is supposedly the best blacksmith in the city a few years ago, but he suddenly became ill. I'm not sure if he is still the best now, but there's no doubt in his skill."

"I guess the reason he became ill might has something to do with the curse the believers of the cult got inflicted with from using the orb too much. Well, are you able to link me up with him now?"

"Yes, can my lord pass your hand to me?"

Wang Qian gave his hand to Hua Yue, she then placed hers on top of his. The next second, he felt that his mana started resonating with Hua Yue's, before connecting to a third party. He then heard a old man's sound in his mind.

'What is it, Hua Yue? Why did you contact me and connect me to whoever this person is?'

'It's been sometime, Uncle Tie. I contacted you because my lord wanted me to help him establishing the link with you.'

'Wait, does that mean this person is...'

'Yup, I'm the demon lord. Although not the one you know, Edric has passed away. I took over and became the new demon lord. You can call me Wang Qian.'

'Please forgive my earlier act of disrespect, my lord. I was feeling unwell causing my attitude to have changed.'

'It's okay. I'm not offended. Anyways, I'll be coming to your city after finishing the things on my side. The royal palace finally sent an army that could threaten me, to increase my chance of winning, I'll need to hide from the world for a few days or weeks. After that, I'll be coming to your city. When I do, I'll contact you again.'

'Understood. I'll wait for my lord to come.'

'That'll be it for now, since I've already establish a link with you, let's end this conversation here.'

'Okay.'

'Goodbye, Uncle Tie.'

The conversation then ended as Wang Qian spoke to Hua Yue.

"Thank you for your help just now. Well, I better get going now"

"Goodbye, my lord and Princess Bai. May we have the chance to meet again."

"Goodbye" Wang Qian and Bai Lian, who was on his shoulder, said before leaving.

Back at the mansion, Wang Qian is packing their stuff and clothes while Bai Lian is taking a bath. By the time he was done doing so, it was already his turn to take a bath. He then head in as he quickly took a bath. When he got out, Bai Lian was sitting on the sofa waiting for him. 

"Let's go, Bai Lian." he said while carrying the crate that was filled with their clothes.

"Okay."

The two exited the mansion and went to their carriage to place the crate. When they got there, they saw two guards who were putting on some crates onto Wang Qian's carriage. 

"What are you guys doing?" he asked

"Ah, Mr Wang Qian. The city lord asked us to put this crates on to your carriage, it is supposed to be filled with delicacy of our city. Mr Wang Qian can check the crates if the items we placed are correct."

"There's no need. Thank you for your hard work. I'll be taking my carriage now."

"Very well. Goodbye Mr Wang Qian."

Wang Qian then took the horse out of the pent as he tied it along the strings of the carriage. He and Bai Lian then got on the carriage as they drove it out of the mansion and towards the city gate. When he exited the city gate, he saw that his believers are still there. His believers all bowed to him after noticing him and Bai Lian. 

It was then Hua Yue ran over to him. Wang Qian stopped the carriage as he waited for her to reach. Hua Yue then asked him

"Has my lord received the delicacy?"

"Yup, it's in the back of the carriage. Thanks again for it"

"It's what I should do. Is my lord already leaving?"

"Yes, the place I'm looking for to hide might be a little difficult to find, so I'll need to start searching as early as possible."

"I see. May my lord and Princess Bai have a safe trip." Hua Yue said as she bowed down

"Goodbye, Hua Yue. I'll come back here and visit you guys after all of this has finished"

"Goodbye my lord and Princess Bai"

Wang Qian then continued to drove the carriage after saying their goodbyes. It was then that he thought of a very serious question.

"Hey system, where am I supposed to find a dimension that can hide me from the royal palace?"

[ REPLYING TO THE HOST : THE HOST JUST NEEDS TO FIND A PLACE WHERE THE SPACE IS 'FRAGILE' AND THROW A PUNCH TO OPEN UP A SPACE TEAR. THE REST CAN BE HANDLED BY THE PLOT'S BLESSING. ]

'So, you're telling me to just leave everything to luck? Moreover, where can I even find a place where the surrounding space is 'fragile'? And what does it mean by the space being 'fragile'? What a unreliable system' he complained

"So, where are we going now, papa?" Bai Lian asked

'Sh*t, how do I answer her? I can't just say that we are going to go around randomly before finding a suitable place, right?'

"Um, we're gonna go find a place where the surrounding space is 'fragile' and open a space tear there."

"And where can we find a place like that?" she asked again with her head tilted

Right now, Wang Qian is sweating profusely as even he doesn't know how to answer that question. He then gave up before saying

"We'll find one eventually."

"Okay" Bai Lian said. She then turned her head as she looked at the sunset with a smile on her face

Just like that, the two set on their journey again on their carriage....
