Chapter 19 : The Despair Of The Demon Lord

Wang Qian looked around him, trying to find a way to escape from the royal guards. But the guards didn't want to give him a chance, they walked slowly towards him with their spears pointing him, ready to pierce him if he attacked them. 

'I need to think of a way fast...what skill can I use? My swordsmanship is unusable right now, [ MAGIC CONDENSATION ] is also out... That's right! There's [ MAGIC PRESSURE ], I can use it to make them unmovable for a few seconds before escaping.' Wang Qian thought.

He then used [ MAGIC PRESSURE ] on the guards. His plan worked perfectly as the guards were unable to move under the intense pressure on their shoulders. Wang Qian then ran out of the encirclement of the guards as he left the corner and quickly find a place to hide in the villagers house.

After Wang Qian left, the pressure on the royal guards shoulder also slowly disappeared. They gave up on chasing Wang Qian for now so as to request for reinforcement from the royal palace in apprehending him. They then return to where the villagers currently are. The villagers didn't dare to go back to their houses, afraid that the demon lord might appear in front of them and kill them in they did so. 

As they stayed there without doing anything, some villagers started to talk about Wang Qian's act of killing the hero.

"Hey, do you think that Wang Qian might be the demon lord" someone said.

"You jest, if he really is the demon lord, then why would he be so kind to us? Moreover, he doesn't have the type of scary aura around him like in the legends" another person replied 

The rest of the villagers who were listening also denied the possibility of him being the demon lord. It was at this time that the royal guards returned. The villagers immediately knew that they failed to capture Wang Qian after not seeing him with them.

Just then, the captain started shouting towards the villagers.

"VILLAGERS OF THE GODDESS'S HOME, THE CRIMINAL THAT KILLED THE HERO HAS ESCAPED ,WE SUSPECT THAT HE MIGHT BE THE DEMON LORD. THE ROYAL PALACE WILL NOW START TO PREPARE FOR BATTLE AGAINST THE DEMON LORD. WHOEVER CAN PROVIDE INFORMATION ABOUT HIM WILL BE REWARDED HANDSOMELY BY THE ROYAL PALACE AND HIS MAJESTY"

The villagers then started talking among themselves until a guy suddenly said : "He isn't the demon lord, sir. Wang Qian is just a normal kind teenager." 

The others also started shouting things like "He's right, sir" , "We won't give any information about Wang Qian to you guys" and many more. The captain was enraged and gave a command to his subordinates : "SLAUGTHER ALL OF THEM! SINCE THEY WANTED TO PROTECT THE DEMON LORD, THEY MIGHT AS WELL DIE HELPING THE DEMON LORD!!"

The villagers the entered panic mode after hearing what the captain said, but some brave people grab their farming tools and started attacking the royal guards. Seeing so, the rest followed and this made the guards forced to retreat out of the village.

On the other side, after hiding in one of the villagers for around 10 minutes, Wang Qian immediately got out and ran towards the forest, deciding to recover at the cave first before coming back here. When he reached the waterfall, the entrance to the cave was already opened. He entered the cave quickly and sat down and started meditating.

Thanks to the skill [ HIGH-SPEED REGENERATION ] and [ HIGH-SPEED MAGIC REGENERATION ], the minor injuries from the battle against the plot recovered quickly and his mana also started to recover at a fast pace. If this continues, Wang Qian will probably recover in 3-4 hours. Realizing this, he placed all of his focus in recovering.

Back at the village, the villagers quickly dispersed after forcing the royal guards out of the village and went back to their houses. They went to bed as soon as they finish dinner as what happened today was something they never imagined doing so before. All of them entered the dream land quickly with a smile on their faces, feeling proud at the fact on forcing the guards to retreat and defending what they think is correct. But what they didn't knew was, the royal palace already receive news of what happened at the village through some special means, and the reinforcement sent is already at the perimeter of the village.

After arriving, all the soldiers started surrounding the village from outside. All of them were holding arrows that are imbued with fire that seems to be made out of magic. They pulled the string and hold onto it and aimed on the area above the village.

"FIRE" the captain from just now shouted towards rest of the soldiers.

The soldiers released the string as the arrow flew out before dropping on the roof. Due to the houses in the village being made out of wood and other materials from the forest, the roof quickly caught on fire before the whole house started burning. Some villagers managed to woke up in time and brought their families out of the house, while some who were unfortunate died in their sleep due to lack of oxygen. Till death, they were still having a smile on their face.

After letting the village to burn for a while, the captain then ordered the soldiers to enter the village and kill everyone they see. The soldiers followed command and started killing the villagers who managed to escape from getting burned. At this moment, the soldiers and the royal guards were like the scythe of the god of death, claiming the lives of the villagers mercilessly. The village soon turned into a manifestation of hell.

Wang Qian opened his eyes and assessed his current state. His mana was filled back to the brim while his strength recovered fully. He then quickly left the cave and ran at full speed towards the village, wanting to know what happened he left. When he exited the forest, the first thing that entered his eyes was the giant dome of flame. 

"SH*T" Wang Qian then continued to ran at full speed towards the village. When he entered the village, the only thing he could see was the bodies of the villagers who was kind to him, helping him despite not knowing much about him. He continue to walk slowly in the village, starting to regret his choice of coming too this village 

"If only I didn't come to this village, you guys wouldn't have died because me" he said. Just then he faintly heard the sound of a girl crying. He then ran over quickly to where the cry came from, only to see the head of the village, being pinned to the ground by a wooden pillar on fire. 

"VILLAGE HEAD!!" Wang Qian shouted as he ran towards him. Next to him was his daughter, Bai Lian ( white lily ). 

"DON'T WORRY VILLAGE HEAD, I'LL SAVE YOU!!" Wang Qian said. Next to him, Bai Lian was crying while saying :" Don't leave me dad! I don't want you to leave like mother!" 

He then pushed away the wooden pillar, and went ahead to check the village head's injuries. Just then, the soldiers from royal palace started to say something out loud.

"VILLAGERS WHO ARE STILL ALIVE, YOU ALL WILL BE SPARED FOR NOW. IF YOU ALL WANT TO CONTINUE LIVING, SURRENDER TOWARDS US AND GIVE US INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEMON LORD. YOU ALL HAVE 3 DAYS TO COME OUT AND SURRENDER YOURSELF BEFORE WE COME BACK AND MASSACRE THE REST OF YOU"

"THOSE DAMN SOLDIERS, HOLD ON. I'LL DEFINETELY SAVE YOU!!" Wang Qian said to the village head. Suddenly, the village head placed his hands on Wang Qian's 

"Bring my daughter away with you, I'm pretty sure that all of them are mostly dead already. If you feel regret for coming here and think that this is all your fault. Then, bring her away to safety"

"BUT I HAVEN'T SAVE " " There's no need for you to do so, I myself know that I'm going to die soon. Xiao Bai, listen to papa. Follow Wang Qian and leave the village."

"But.. I don't wanna leave you. I can't lose you too!" " If you don't go now, papa will really leave you forever, so run away with him now." The village head then turned his eyes towards Wang Qian

"After you bring my daughter away from here, I hope you can be her father in my stead." "BUT !"

"There's not much time, bring her away from here now. And , you don't need to feel sad. We helped you voluntarily, so it isn't your fault anymore. Go and live your life.... happily from .... now.... on..." the village head said before closing his eyes as he continued to place his hands on Wang Qian's.

Holding back his tears, he immediately carried Bai Lian and ran towards the forest.

"PAPA!!!" Bai Lian shouted.

It was on this day, that the new demon lord experienced despair , the type of despair of being helpless.
