Adventurer City Lunalemiere

"City of adventurers, finally here"

It's been a month since I start my journey from the eastern continent to this city. One of the biggest adventure cities to be an adventurer. Five years, I've been waiting for this moment for so long. The monster teacher finally gave me his consent.

The city is surrounded by a large wall with three gates on the north, east, and south that connect with the outside. All buildings are neatly arranged with a fountain in the downtown area. In some areas of the city, you can also see merchants selling their wares.

Children play with their friends with wooden swords, adventurers in light armor, and even heavy armor. There are many types of people in town. Lots of them are barbarian-like and wield weapons. Despite that, there are few fights. Some argue but their argument never seems to turn into a fight.

After walking around for a bit, I stopped in front of a building. It is enormous compared to other buildings around it. Its structure was quite simple, if it were in the capital from the front it looked similar to a merchant's guild.

Since this city was one of the largest adventurers' cities, naturally their guild building was suitable. That's what I thought as I walked inside the building.

I looked around the building while strolling. The closest place near the gate was some sort of bar and food court, many adventurers were seen eating, drinking, and chatting with each other.

I was expecting their stares when I entered the guild, but they ignored me, maybe this is normal for them, so they don't care about foreign faces. At the far entrance, there seems to be a receptionist, and on the east end side is a wall full of requests, I guess that's where to check which quest to take.

"Good afternoon, sir. Can I help you?"

Without noticing, I walked towards the reception desk and was stopped by staff.

"I want to register as an adventurer"

"Do you know what an adventurer is sir? I can explain it to you if you don't know beforehand"

I guess she's right, five years is a long time. The explanation of what an adventurer was might have been different since then. After all, there was no such thing as adventurers in the eastern empire.

"Yes, please explain," I replied to the receptionist.

"Okay,"

She has short blue hair and blue eyes. She is about 165 cm tall and has a slender build. Wearing a blue skirt and top that matches her hair color. She had sharp eyes and gave off this big sister impression whenever she spoke.

The staff explained that adventurers were a form of profession. The client will submit a request to the union and the guild will make it in written form which will later be displayed on the request board in the guild. Adventurers who see the request, as long as it has a sufficient ranking according to the type of request can take it and carry it out. Depending on the type of request, failure to execute the request may result in a fine or even a rank down. You also need to pass both written and practical tests before being registered as an adventurer.

"Is my explanation clear sir?" Ask the receptionist to make sure.

"Yes, I want to register as an adventurer"

"Okay, please wait"

she took a paper from the side table and asked me to fill it out. From what I can see, it's likely a registration form.

Name: Rean

Class: -

Age: 20

Origin: Eastern Empire

The origin here is not my true origin. But I'm not lying because I'm from there. I gave the paper form back to her after filling it out. it surprised her a bit when she read it, but somehow I can guess why.

"Are you perhaps..?"

she didn't continue but from her reaction, I could tell what she wanted to say.

"Yes, that's true. But don't worry, I'm good with a sword. I can guarantee that"

I hold my Katana on my left waist with a confident smile.

If so then we will prepare for the test. The first test will be a knowledge test and after that, there will be a practical test. If you pass everything with a minimum score, we will recognize you as an adventurer and we will have your ID ready within one day.

After a detailed explanation of the exam, she went to the back to prepare for the exam.

Finished with the preparations, she asked me to come with her to an empty room in the corner of the room. There she gave me all the question papers, and I had to answer them within the time limit.

The questions were mostly about medicinal plants, basic group combat, and monster hunting so I had no trouble answering them. When I was five years old, I memorized almost all the books in the palace.

After completing all the questions. I gave it to the staff. It doesn't take long for her to check the answers I wrote.

"a perfect score. It's rare for new adventurers to get a perfect score"

She said rare, that means there are adventurers here who got perfect scores before that right? As expected of one of the greatest cities of adventurers, it seems like a lot of extraordinary people have gathered here.

"Please follow me to the next practice exam location. Mr. Rean"

For the next test she took me to a large area, as she walked she explained that the next test was to test individual fighting ability.

"Just wanted to make sure. Your specialty is swords right?"

I nodded in response to the staff's question.

The reason she asked about it was that I didn't have a class. Being classless doesn't mean being useless. Some people in the past raised their names as nobles, knights, and adventurers who didn't even have a class so it was quite normal for people who didn't have a class to do anything.

The only difference is, being classless means you have to put more effort into what you want to do.

For example, people who have warriors, knights, and any class suitable for swords can master sword techniques a hundred times easier than people without a class.

There are also several grades in each class, from C to S. Class S is only available for heroes and sages while warriors and knights are at rank B. There are also upgrades from both such as the paladin class which is A rank.

For more details, an example of a sword technique can be taken, mastery techniques for grade B classes are ten times easier than grade C classes while grade A classes are ten times easier than grade B classes, and so on.

So a classless person like me for example in swordsmanship needs to practice at least thousands of times to reach the same level as a grade A class at the same level of training as them. It's a bit difficult, but that's just how this world is, sometimes I want to kick a god's butt because of this system he created.

Because most people train their abilities according to their class, so for those who don't have a class like me, it's only natural to ask what field I train in.

Carmilla, the guild staff then explained the practice exam that I had to take which was to fight again with three battle dolls.

Battle dolls were objects made from various types of elements such as iron, steel, etc. into whatever shape the user desired, and then combined with a magic circle, which would be moved according to the user's logic. The battle puppets I'm facing right now look like they're made of steel two of them are in the shape of a human with a wooden sword and one of them is in the shape of a tiger with a wooden knife in its mouth.

The goal of this test is to see if I can beat the battle dummies or if at least I can demonstrate excellent tactics in 1 vs 3 combat.

Carmilla left after explaining that. she was replaced by a bald man who had just entered. He has a great body. Most of the muscles should be warrior class I think. He was only wearing light armor so most of his upper body was visible. Maybe this is the real tester and Carmilla is just a surrogate.

*

"Five years, it's good to know you've come this far"

Carmilla whispered because she was already far away from Rean.

*

"Okay, on my signal, we will start the test"

I just gave the bald examiner a nod yes.
