Leaving Home
" Get ready so we leave ".She tells me .I get out of bed and rush into the bathroom,I take a quick shower and throw on some high waisted jeans and a small black tube top, and a white Cardigan .I put on some light makeup and I apply lip gloss and I brush my hair into a messy bun. I make my bed and tidy up a bit then ,I take all my packed suitcases and bags downstairs to, find mom and jasmine ready and making breakfast .I sit down and get a plate and start eating ." we thought you'd never get up,so you have all your stuff packed because we have to leave after breakfast".she says." Yeah I think I have everything I need mom". I answer her ."Great " my mom replies."Don't be nervous mia ,its just like every other time when you started school ,except this time you'll be on your own and you'll be independent, like no one will be on your back to do stuff ".
Jasmine tells me ." I nod at her ,I finish my breakfast and we tidy up the kitchen and we get out the door .
"Do we have everything we need are we ready to leave". mom asks. " Yes". Me and jasmine reply at the same time . Mom locks the door and we get into the car ,and she starts it. Jasmine puts on music and we start jamming out to some Cardi B ."The songs you youngsters listen to these days ,back in the day we used to listen to some nice classic songs "she says." Your songs are all boring mom this is nor the 50's "Jasmine tells her and smiles and we both start laughing ."First of all its not the 50's ,its like the 80's ."How old do you think I am" ?."Do you really want me to answer that? " jas says and we all laugh .
**********////////////////////////////After approximately 2 hours of driving we each the campus of the University on New York. Everyone seemed to be going somewhere, and there were people in groups carrying their luggage's and bags."OK so we have arrived" mom says in a soft voice ." We get out the car then mom starts "I thought I was ready to let you go out in the world ,but now looking at you I don't think I am "Mom says in a shaky voice ."Mom I'm gonna be fine just, don't cry I'm still your daughter nothing will change". Look at you ,you are my baby love you so much mia ,I hope you know that " .I love you too mom " I tell her while giving her a bone crushing hug with a few tears going down my cheeks." Just don't go around messing with" ....."Mom okay ,its okay don't cry she'll be fine we have to go now ". Jasmine interrupts mom while she was about to say something about me messing around with boys and all that. " Okay fine ,bye sweetheart be sure to visit during the holidays ,I love you so much ".She says kissing me on the forehead ." Bye mom " I say .She gets into the car and waits for Jasmine."So I guess this is goodbye for now,be good and don't so anything I wouldn't. I love you sis " she says hugging me ."What wouldn't you do exactly ?" . " You know having sex with boys parties ,drugs and all that ". " But you have done all that jas "she tells me." Yes but I just don't want that for you ,you know you are my little sister and stuff and I love you don't forget that .She brings me into a momma bear like hug before I even respond ."I love you too jas I say " .She gets into the car and they wave at me and I wave back .Its time to do this ,I say to myself walking to the main office.
