The heir was supposed to be me

.I'm Kim Su-Jin, as a younger son. I was always the favorite between my brother and me, as the favorite, my father made me the heir of his power. I was excited about it, I thought my brother would be proud of me but instead, his eyes were filled with hatred whenever he look at me. I thought it's gonna pass by, so each day, I would invite my brother to come out and play, but got rejected instead, every time we would eat together, he would pick a seat beside the one next to me. Every day I yearn for a brother's love, the one where my brother would get mad if someone hurts me, the one where my brother would help me with my studies, but I didn't get all of those. One day, my brother snapped at me, "Will you stop it?!" he shouted at me, it was the first time that I heard him shout, and it was the time when my brother, whom I look up to, pushed me out of his life.

As I was about to enter my room, my brother came up to me and gave me a glass of water, 'What's this? Is my brother not finally mad anymore?!' my eyes shine. So, I happily took the glass of water and drank it. But when I was done, my brother laughs at me, hysterically. "Is something wrong, brother?" the next thing I knew, I was knocked out. The last thing I saw is my brother, smirking down at me. It was the most terrifying scene I have ever seen. "You are a fool..." he mumbled.

I finally woke up, panting, heavily sweating. My mother, who was holding my hand suddenly hugs me tightly. "Mother...?" my voice was groggy, I had wished that all of that was a terrifying nightmare. "My baby, are you okay?" my mom asks me, as I saw a single tear running down her eyes. I wiped her tear and said, "I'm alright, Mother" I smiled, my mother then continue to hug me. Right! The transferring Ritual was supposed to be today. "Mother, what about the ritual?" I noticed that my mother flinched.

[Did something happen?]

"Mother, is there something wrong?" I ask, "My dear since you were bedridden, your father's power was transferred to your older brother" with those words, I couldn't hear anything. My vision started to get blurry

[What? Why? I was just..bedridden. Is that why my brother gave me a drink? So that he would take over?]

I couldn't believe it, my brother got my father's power that was supposed to be mine. The power I had dreamt for, the power I would pray every night for, was taken with just a single dumb move of mine. "Su-jin! Su-jin!" my mother called for me, "Mother, where is brother?" I looked up at her, as tears started to form in my eyes. My mother could only look at me with pity and started to help me get up.

[Was the poison that venomous?]

Finally, I and my mother arrived where would my brother and father supposed to be. I heard them laughing.

[Are they on good terms already? How long was I out?]

My mother opened the door, their heads turned towards me, I don't know why but I flinched. Ever since 'that happened I couldn't look at my brother's eyes anymore.

"Su-jin! You're finally awake!" my father approached me with pure joy, but I stopped him

"Why..?" I mumbled, "Su-jin? Is something wrong?" My father crouched down to get the same eye level as mine. "Why did you do that?!" I shouted as I sobbed. "I had wished and prayed every night for your power, and you suddenly decided to give it to brother?!" "Su-jin, I did it for you. You were bedridden"

I know, I know he has a point but, I longed for that power. Instead, my brother got to have it. I was annoyed at the sight of my father trying to explain. I walked out and slammed the door.

I cried, falls on my knees, and started to sob. "That was supposed to be mine. Why?!" I tightly grabbed my hair. I flinched when I heard a crunch. "My dear brother of mine" I'm scared. I'm scared, the voice I use to be amazed at was long gone, now it was a pure, dark, terrifying voice. He called out for me, he crouched down and grabbed my chin, forcing me to look at him. "This power was meant to be mine, Su-jin. Now that our parents are trying to find a way to take this power out of me. I will end them" My eyes widened in fear. "Why..?" I finally spoke, "because I hate you" he smaller me to the ground, causing me to get a small wound on my arm. "What I said is true, I will end your beloved parents"

The next thing I knew, I was sobbing, and sobbing, kneeling in front of my brother. Father and Mother's body was stabbed many times, "Didn't I tell you? I would do it. So I did it"

[Why? Why only kill them?]

Every day, my life was a never-ending nightmare. I swore to myself that I would get revenge and take my brother's life. I'll do it, I'll do anything to achieve it.
