Becoming Queen of Lunia

The next morning, I slowly sat up in my bed and my hair covered my eyes. I heard my door open but didn't react to the sound nor footsteps approaching me. I felt a hand gently grab my arm.

"Princess... Time to get out of bed." Victoria spoke gently to me.

I am not a Princess...

"The maids have all made you breakfast...I know you're sad and everything, but please..get up and eat something." Victoria tried to drag me out of bed.

I am Risa...not this royal everyone keeps calling me...Where am I...Where..

"Where is my mother..?" I asked as I still didn't move.

"Your mother...Unfortunately...she's dead." Victoria looked at me sadly.

No...my mother is very well alive...I spend my Christmas with her...You're a liar...

"Princess please-"

"Get away from me!" I pushed Victoria away and glared at her. My eyes shined a bright gold as tears stream down my cheek. Victoria tried to walk towards me and I pushed her back again then grabbed the dagger that was resting on the nightstand beside me. "I don't know who the hell you are...but don't take another step or else I will kill you! Don't...Don't make me do it!"

"Your highness.." Victoria looked extremely hurt. "I know losing your parents is a heavy thing but please I am one of you...Your royal assistant..so please..."

Victoria took at step towards me then I instinctively tackled her and held the knife over her. She looked scared as I had the weight of my body on top of her. My eyes shined red and I grunted as I looked at her. I dropped the dagger and got off her. I sat against my bed and began to breathe heavily.

"What the fuck is going on..? Why am I here..? Why are you calling me Princess Stella...Please let this be a bad dream, I want to go back to my family.." I sobbed quietly.

Victoria sat up and looked at me. She stood up and walked to me then kneeled in front of me. She held my cheeks and made me look at her. She moved my hair from my eyes then wiped my tears.

"My Queen...Listen to me...this is not a bad dream, but I promise you...everything will get better. So just come with me...Allow us to put a crown on your head..allow us to call you Queen of Lunia." Victoria smiled softly at me.

Queen of Lunia...I am now...a queen. What does a Queen even do..? I had so many questions running across my mind.

I looked at Victoria then just nodded. I stood up and Victoria stood up as well. We walked out of the room and went into the dining room for breakfast. I looked around then saw how much different things were. Compared to my past life...this life seemed a lot better but I missed my old family.

"We lost a lot of great soldiers that day...Our castle is in the process of being rebuilt and better made. The Holy Order did a great deal of damage upon our humble abode. After they killed the previous queen...we have been training to strike down the Holy Order once and for all." Victoria explained.

"Holy Order..? Who are they..?" I asked as I ate a piece of my omelette.

"Hm? They are an organization working for the King of Uphelia. They are under King Zephyr's rule...the man who ordered them to kill us. Luckily some of us managed to drive them away. They were after something..but we don't know what. All we know is this won't be the last time they attack..." Victoria said then sat back in her chair and looked at the ceiling. "We have to become stronger..."

"As a queen...what should I do? I...I have no idea how to be a queen." I spoke as I had the fork in my mouth.

"Well firstly, royals don't eat like common folk. They are more dignified and sophisticated." Victoria watched me and let out a tiny giggle.

"Right.." I set the fork on the plate.

"Second..you must reassure the people that you are still alive...The kingdom is in need of a ruler. You are now the queen of this kingdom therefore your people are priority." Victoria nodded.

I nodded in response then stood up. I turned away then walked off.

"Ahem...the balcony is the other direction." Victoria pointed.

"Oh! Right...I knew that.." I walked the other direction.

I walked outside and saw the castle in shambles. I walked out on the balcony and felt my heart racing. I didn't know what I was going to say or do. I still stepped forwards and some people pointed at me.

"She's alive! Stella!" A woman cried out.

"Your highness!" A man called out to me.

I thumped my foot on the ground and blushed. The people began gathering to where I could see them. I looked at them and took a deep breath.

"I honestly don't know what I am doing! I have no idea what kind of state this kingdom is in or what I need to do to better it! I'm scared and confused, mostly confused! Everything is happening so quickly...but...I wanna learn! I'm stuck in this life!" I started and Victoria watched from inside, smiling. "I, Queen Stella, will find a way for us all to rebuild and take back what we lost!"

I am Risa though...I can't be someone I'm not...

"We will rebuild!"

Risa...Fine. I must accept this reality is my own.

"We will conquer!"

I've been reborn for this purpose. To rule...as a queen.

"We will destroy the ones who took our home away!"

I am no longer Risa Nakagami...I have to accept that.

"The Kingdom of Lunia...will be the strongest kingdom to ever exist! We will not back down!"

This is what they need to hear...I feel like I'm in a movie...everything still feels surreal, but I know in my heart they need a ruler. They need someone who will lead them. I was chosen...

"We may not become the strongest now...but we must if we want to live!" I said and my people began to cheer and roar.

"Long live the Queen.." Victoria smiled and closed her eyes.

A masked man sat on a roof and watched. He took off his mask and smiled. He stood up and grunted a little.

"Stella...You're still as fearless as ever. You always know what to say." The man said then vanished in a puff of black smoke.

Meanwhile at the Kingdom of Uphelia. A man sat on the throne and a knight walked into the throne room and the king looked at him.

"Milord...we have received news..The Princess of Lunia, Stella Bushi...she's still alive. She just was declared Queen of Lunia." The knight said.

"Ahh I see..." The king smirked and closed his eyes.

"What are your plans?" The knight asked.

"We are still attacking Lunia in three days. After the Holy Order attack, their manpower has weakened meaning they won't be strong enough to defend their part of land. We are assured victory." The king chuckled.

"Yes milord...I shall get the army prepared for battle." The knight saluted and walked away.

"Stella...You were lucky enough to even grasp onto life. Now I shall take it away from you and your kingdom. You only have three days...Show me what you're made of, Queen." The king laughed.
