"Do you know what you both did?" a woman asked as she sternly looked at Aenys and Daemon.
The woman appeared to be in her early fifties, with large strands of her hair turned snow white.
She had a high forehead and cheekbones, while her blue eyes gave her grandsons a stern look.
Alyssane narrowed her eyes as she turned to Daemon and asked, "Daemon, why did you hit your brother?"
Daemon gritted his teeth as he seethed in anger, "He hit me first!" he yelled.
Alysanne raised an eyebrow at this; she turned to Aenys and asked, "Aenys, why did you hit him?"
Aenys's eyes glinted as he looked back at his grandmother; he suppressed the urge to grin as he answered, "He took away my book and threatened to tear it!"
Daemon's eyes widened as he understood that he had to say something, "I asked him what he was reading! And he ignored and insulted me!" he yelled as he glared back at his brother.
"He called me weak!" Aenys accused back.
Alysanne's mouth twitched as she looked at her two grandsons, who were accusing each other, "Enough!"
The siblings became quiet when they heard their grandmother; they both loved her, respected her, and did not want to anger her.
Alysanne turned to Aenys and ordered, "Aenys, apologise to Daemon."
Aenys's eyes widened in disbelief while a smirk bloomed on Daemon's face.
"But—-"
"No buts!" Alysanne exclaimed, "By the gods, I am tired of the two of you!" she said in anger.
"He is your elder brother, Aenys!" she reprimanded, "Now apologize!"
Aenys bit his lip in frustration; he was about to turn to Daemon when Alyssane continued, "And you, what are you laughing at!?"
Aenys looked at his brother, who was gawking at their grandmother in surprise, 'Heh! How does that feel, dipshit!?'
But Alyssane wasn't done yet, "He is your younger brother, Daemon!"
Looking at the siblings both, she said, "Apologise to each other. And if I ever hear you fight again…!" she warned, making them both gulp in fear.
""I apologize, grandmother."" They both said at the same time.
Alysanne's eye twitched when she noticed how the siblings apologised to her and not to each other, 'Brats! Why do you hate each other so much?' she worried inwardly.
SIGH
Alyssane sighed as she walked toward them; she kneeled in front of the siblings and gave each a kiss on the forehead and said, "my sweet boys, we are family. And family doesn't fight with each other, okay?"
'You are saying that to a man who is going to kill his own nephew!' Aenys mumbled inwardly as he eyed Daemon, who was sulking.
"Now," Alyssane murmured, grabbing the siblings' attention, "no more fighting, okay?"
She asked softly, but she knew, 'They will fight again,' after all, this wasn't the first time she had asked them not to fight.
The siblings nodded their heads at their grandmother, acknowledging her words for the day.
Alysanne chatted with them for a while before sending them off.
…..
Haaah! I should have seen that coming.
I mean I could have pressed more, but that would sadden grandmother.
There are a few people I like in my new family: my grandmother, who is gentle and loving but can also be stern.
My mother, who is fierce as a warrior.
My aunts, Maegelle, who is a septa. She had returned to the Keep after my aunt, Daella died.
Aunt Maegelle is a kind woman who was sent to be a septa by Grandmother—which, by the way, is one of the things with which I disagree.
She died with greyscale, which she got while taking care of the patients. Of course, I plan to change that.
And lastly, the one I like the most, the one whom I want to be my future wife, my youngest aunt, Gael Targaryen.
…..
Aenys was walking through the halls of the Keep. His brother and he went separate ways after exiting their grandmother's quarters.
Currently, Aenys has just finished his inner monologue when a voice called out, "Aenys!"
There was a hint of worry in that voice, which was followed by quick footsteps.
Aenys looked up, recognising the voice; his altered and bruised face lit up when he saw a seven-year-old girl running toward him.
The girl had silver-gold hair just like him; she had pale skin and her constitution was a bit frail.
"Aenys, what happened!?" Gael asked as her purple eyes darted around his bruised face.
'So cute!' Aenys exclaimed as he looked at her worried face, his lips curled into a grin as he answered, "I fought with Daemon."
"And you are happy about that?" Another voice came from behind Gael.
It was a woman who was dressed in nun's clothes; her expression, which used to be gentle and bright, winced when she looked at her nephew.
"Aunt Maegelle!" Aenys exclaimed as his grin widened.
"You look like a beggar at flea bottom, nephew." She commented.
Which was indeed true, Aenys's clothes were dirtied, and a bruised face and a missing tooth did not help him.
"Sister!" Gael said as she turned towards the septa. She pursed her lips in worry as she turned to Aenys.
"Does it hurt?" she asked as she gently caressed his bloodied cheek.
HISS
Aenys hissed in pain while he squinted his eyes, "It hurts, Aunt." He winced as he clutched Gael's hand.
'So soft…' he commented inwardly, Gael is the youngest daughter of Alyssane. She is a gentle and innocent soul who was seduced by a traveling bard.
She got pregnant with his child but birthed a stillborn. The incident hurt her deeply as she, out of grief, drowned herself in Blackwater Bay.
'I promise you, my lovely aunt,' Aenys mumbled inwardly as he looked at Gael with love and affection, 'I will protect you and make you the happiest person in the world!'
Gael, noticing her nephew's looks, blushed slightly. Which didn't go unnoticed by Maegelle.
AHEM
Maegelle cleared her throat, grabbing the attention of the two. "Aenys, come with me. I will check if you've got any internal injuries."
