Hidden Mission

Omari was in a daze when he heard the words of the commentator. The referees whistle sounded somewhere in between but he didn't really register it. He just stood there at the penalty spot in a daze.

He scored?

He won?

A torrent of emotions let themselves loose inside him at that moment. Regardless of the fact that the referee's whistle had sounded, he ran towards the corner flags and kicked it down.

He raised his fist into the air and shouted. He felt so psyched. His excitement sending goosebumps to the surface of his skin. An enigmatic smile plastered across his lips.

"Let's go!" He screamed at no one in particular. The match was already over and it wasn't as if there were people watching him in the first place. Still, he needed to vent his emotions.

At that point, all his teammates caught up to him. They jumped him and sent him stumbling forward. After a few more teammates reached him, he couldn't handle the weight and fell on the floor.

The manager and Steve didn't mind themselves and went to add themselves into the pile of teenage boys.

After the match, Omari was called aside by one of the match officials. He was handed the man of the man award.

Omari was excited again, but for another reason entirely. The excitement of the goal has faded somewhat but he was excited wo get a title. He didn't have any, and as such didn't know what a title meant.

He had a short interview and went back to meet a chaotic scene at the locker room. Everyone was happy and chattering. Even Steve and the manager joined in.

"Alright everyone, settle down!" The manager shouted. Everyone immediately kept quiet. "Even though it turned out well this time, we can't afford to be losing leads!"

The group of teenage boys immediately hung their head down.

"Normally, you all should be running laps around the field but I'm in a bit of a good mood so I'll let it go". The manager said. "Tomorrow, we'll work on defense all through".

As soon as he said this, everyone in the locker room let out a low groan. Even Omari didn't seem too thrilled with the declaration of the manager.

Everyone hated working on defense. Defense sucked. No one liked it.

After a few more words to the squad, the manager released all of them. They all changed to their normal clothes and went to their respective houses.

"How was the game champ?" Omari's dad asked as soon as he walked into the house. He sat comfortably on a sofa that was directly opposite the television. His hand held the remote and he was fiddling with it

Omari smiled and plopped down next to his dad on the couch. "It was alright".

"How many goals did you score this time". His dad laughed.

Whenever Omari did well in a match, he never made too much noise about it. He believed the less you talked about it, the better he felt. If he did badly on the other hand…

He'd have a lot of his five star performances to recall.

"Two". Omari said proudly. "And I scored the winner".

"Wow!" His dad exclaimed.

The two of them continued talking, eventually moving away from the subject at hand and going into European club competitions, from there they started talking about other sports before Omari retired to his room.

He freshened up and was about to fall asleep when he remembered the new skill and the title from the system. Filled with renewed excitement. He sat up and called out to the system.

"System?" Omari said. "What was that about the new skill".

Omari furrowed his brows when he saw the skill. 'Pinpoint finishing', judging from the name, it should affect his accuracy. Another thing that really made him concerned was the fact that that was the only skill that he had so far that was deemed unupgradable.

"What does the skill do system?" Omari asked.

|Pinpoint finishing: increases the accuracy of any shot taken from any distance by twenty percent. Note: does not affect any other factor regarding the shot such as power|

Omari digested the information given to him by the system. What the system said basically was that the accuracy of his shot was increased when he used the skill. The skill only increased the accuracy of his shot, so even if he made a shot and it was accurate, anything could get in the way.

In other words, the skill didn't promise him a guaranteed goal, other unforeseen factors could get in the way of the shot. (I'm just putting this out there for some people that would start complaining if Omari misses a shot while using this skill).

Omari's lips curled upward when he fell deeper into his sea of thoughts. If he used this new skill alongside the curled skill then the amount of goals that he would score would be astronomical!

The system immediately burst Omari's bubble. Still, the pinpoint finishing was still a very valuable skill to have. He could use it while taking penalty. It really took the pressure off of him when he knew that the ball was going to go wherever he wanted it to go.

"System, what about the new title".

Omari smiled when he saw the newt title that he had unlocked. He was pretty satisfied when he saw the title that he unlocked. He was about to ask about the title that he had unlocked when he heard the system.
