Chapter One: The contract

Khloe looked at the man she's been dating for two years,tears welling up in her eyes she sniffed back in her running nose gosh she hated how her feelings have been messed up by him.She was absolutely aware of the circumstances that gave way to their relationship surely not the best ones she admitted to herself.

"Take this and put yourself back together,you're not a kid Khloe stop making me do awkward things." Dale said stretching a white handkerchief he has taken out from his breast pocket as he glared at her.He wasn't one to get agitated easily but this woman brought out the beast in him.

He recalled where this all started,his grandfather had pushed him to the wall back then unless how on earth would he have gone to the extreme and to prove a point???

"Can we postpone this please? I don't want to end it just yet just for a while okay Dale this is too quick you didn't even wait for me to get prepared I beg youuuuuu" she pleaded shamelessly sobbing her heart out trying as much as possible not to be loud.She gazed at him intently while collecting the handkerchief hoping he would see the desperation in her eyes,the more realistic part of her warned her vehemently not to expect anything from this arrogant,heartless CEO.

"We planned this already I played my role right and you did yours already now it's time for you to end this relationship game as stated in the contract I only hope the job is done before sunset." He explained finality ringing in his tone he eyed her dismissively with no hint of emotion rising from his seat he adjusted his tie grabbing his suitcase,the door creaked open his secretary standing at the other end of the door hurriedly accepts the suitcase from Dale with the latter almost flinging it at him.

She just sat there like she was in a trance her mind racing,her heart screaming out in pain he had really ended it? he told her to the face did he not? But she wouldn't let him treat her like this how could he date and break up with her at his own convenience as if she was a puppet he played her she thought regrettably.How could someone's sincerity be taken for granted because of a piece of paper.

"Before it slips my mind lock the door properly after seeing yourself out and I don't want your father calling me "son-in-law" at today's dinner party." He added as he stopped halfway to the door only turning his head sideways to make certain she heard his baritone voice loud and clear,satisfied he walked out of his spacious living room without waiting for her response heading downstairs his phone buzzed picking it up.

"Hello Mr Cyph I'm on the way to a conference meeting by the board members.I want everything to be accurate no mistakes." He ended his phone call increasing his strides while his manager struggled to keep up with his pace as he had to be ahead.Apart from completely abandoning a fragile petite immature girl crying her eyes out in his apartment,he'd done pretty much worse things he presumed.He has always been practical and straightforward all his life that he felt no one could make him irrational because of petty emotions.Emotions were the most irritable kind of feelings any human could harbor to control their lives.It was a terrible weakness,which he found unsettling and would betray his personality.

"Wayne is the Director also attending this meeting?" He threw at his secretary who had already gotten to the car as he opened it swiftly

"I don't know Sir." Wayne replied almost immediately he was well aware that this man hated delayed replies,it was his bad luck that he found himself working for a perfectionist.He never tolerated mistakes

"Next time you say "I'll find out" instead of that,you seem to be slacking these days." He retorted idly not glancing at his secretary as he entered the car.

"Yes Sir I'll be more cautious from now on." Wayne answered as he closed the car hurrying to the driver's seat he sighed "that was close"

Gazing at the contract like it was her first time of ever sighting it,she shouldn't have signed this silly piece of paper.Her feelings were much more grave than he thought,she knew he wasn't a fan of relationships he only brought up the idea of a contract because he needed to use her for the company's image.Her heart shattered the more as she realized he wasn't pressurized at least when his grandfather blackmailed him with a fake illness two years ago to get a woman and settle down before he passed on to his ancestors.Her phone vibrated distractingly bringing her sanity back to the present

"Hello daddy hello ..." She didn't know how it happened even though she tried as much as possible to control herself,the moment she heard her father's worried voice she bursted into tears.

"What's wrong with my princess ? Who offended you?" Her father's inquisitive voice rang out on the other end of the phone with pure concern.

Having left his house few hours ago she checked the wall clock in her bedroom remembering his statement "before sunset" she concurred that this was the right time to spit everything out.

"Daddy I have to tell you about something important can you drop by at my apartment before the dinner party?" She revealed sobbing and she quietens her voice to speak more audibly.

Her father replied...
