Horrendously Mismatched

Maya was about a third of the way through the design plans Vincent had requested when the day of the fundraiser arrived. She wanted to get those done first before coming up with anything she was interested in having on the island herself. She still hadn't come up with any other buildings she would potentially want anyway.

She had never been to any sort of formal event before and didn't want to be embarrassed as the only underdone person there so she went to a salon to get her hair, makeup, and nails done earlier in the day. She wore a flannel shirt that could be easily unbuttoned and wouldn't affect her hair when she changed into her dress later.

Rather than going for a sleek look because her hair was already wavy, the stylist expertly gave her an updo that was meant to be partially curled and worked for her hair length. Her makeup was flawless as well, including the red lipstick she never would have dared to wear on her own.
