I communicated with Arielle as often as I could on the tablet she had given me. She assured me that the visitor’s visa would be coming soon, and that she would send it by overnight courier. She asked me how things were at the restaurant, and if I was eating right, getting enough sleep. I assured her that things couldn’t be better, that I liked this job better than the one at the hotel because I actually felt valued. She told me she missed me, and that she loved me. I would stare at the pictures she had sent long after our Skype sessions were over, touching her face on the screen, yearning to smell her, touch her once again, feel her arms wrapped around me, our bodies pressed against each other, our passions rising.
