The more Bohai listened, the more sympathetic he felt towards his adopted senior brother. He was about to sit down when Wang Yong suddenly stood up from the bed and walked to the closet to change, saying. "Okay, that's enough chatting for now. Get out of my room, I need to change."
Bohai "...."
Wang Yong who had just removed his shirt grabbed the belt on his trousers but turned around suddenly to check if he was still there. "What, are you are still here? Do you want us to share a hot bath together?"
The cynical smile on his lips broke Bohai out of his trance, bringing him back to reality with red stained cheeks. He became flustered. "No, I am leaving! I am leaving!"
Wang Yong was speechless at the speed the boy exited the room. He decided to ignore it and start preparing for school. He glanced at the mirror with a smirk, his eyes glittering with self satisfaction.
A few minutes later, he was there in the room tying his shoe lace when his mother entered the room with a sour expression. Half of her hair was let loose to conceal the side of her face, falling on the pink silk robe she was wearing. She hissed. "Why are you still here dilly dallying? Don't you know that you and your brother are meant to be in school by now? Even if you don't, your brother still has important things to do..."
Bohai smiled with laughing eyes as he faced his mother, silently mocking her condition. He patted his knee, wiping away imaginary dust. "I am already done, Mother. You don't have yo worry. Your face..."
Fan Qiuyue felt rage boiling in her blood when she unconsciously recalled how last night's events ended up with a loud and painful slap across her face, leaving it bruised and swollen throughout the night. She was already grateful that she did not receive a beating but that was only because her husband was afraid that Wang Yong would notice it. This annoying pest of a son was quickly becoming the source of conflict between her and her husband. "Who are you to think you can comment on my appearance?! Why don't you hide in a corner and mind your own business? I am warning you, if I don't see you in the living room in three minutes, I won't let you go you hear me?!"
Wang Yong chuckled when he saw her slam the door with her left hand covering one of her cheeks. He picked up his bag and hung it on his shoulder before he looked at the mirror again. After that, he left the room. Unknown to him, Mingli appeared standing near the window holding a rose in his hand. He muttered. "That bad brother of mine, he didn't even spare an effort to look for me. I won't talk to him!"
But Wang Yong had just come into the living room, his father and adopted brother waiting for him. He greeted his father. "Good morning, Father."
Liu Zhiqiang wore a navy blue suit that accentuated his blue eyes that examined his son's appearance with happiness, silently acknowledging their striking appearance. "How was your night? Did you like your room? You were not uncomfortable here, were you?"
Wang Yong's dimple at the corner of his cheek caught his attention, tugging his heartstrings.
Yesterday, he had made up his mind that he would try his best to make up for his foolish mistakes of the past. He didn't know if Wang Yong would truly forgive him under his pleasant façade, but he would make sure that his son would never be bullied again!
Wang Yong was about to reply when his mother walked out the kitchen with two containers full of pastries. She gave him the red container with a bright smile. "Is there something wrong with your room, Yong'er? Tell me and I will change it for you immediately."
Her swift change in attitude amused him. He said. "No need, everything is to my liking. After all, it makes remember my baby brother, Mingli."
The room became so quiet, he could finally hear the red sparrows outside singing. His mother, Fan Qiuyue's face turned so pale it looked like she would pass out any minute.
"Oh Senior Brother, one of your friends cane to visit us this morning. He just went to the bathroom with Butler Fang." Bohai attempted to shift the conversation when he saw how distraught his mother was, avoiding Wang Yong's eyes guiltily. "Look, there he is."
Wang Yong's calm countenance changed to slight shock when he saw the visitor. "Kong Zhu, what are you doing here?"
Kong Zhu was a completely differentia person in the day, his spiky blond hair now changed to a slick hairstyle that made me look like a normal school boy. His uniform concealed all his tattoos and he had a charming smile on his face. "Wang, I came to visit you since I haven't seen you for so long! How are you doing?"
Wang Yong accepted his incoming high with a smile when he heard his mother ask. "How did you two meet? From the looks of your school uniform, you boys are in different schools."
"My family and I moved to another city so I changed my school. I have been looking for Wang all this time and I just heard about the death of his grandmother." He looked at Wang Yong intensely with tears forming in his eyes. "I am so sorry about the death of your grandmother. I even saw the viral video of you being bullied by a woman in your house!"
Wang Yong ".....". Since when did his senior brother's acting improve like this?
Fan Qiuyue was about to dir from embarrassment when her husband spoke up.
"Since all of you boys are students, how about I drop you off before I head to the hospital?"
Kong Zhu turned to him with a hesitant expression, ruffling his hair in fake embarrassment. "It's okay, Mr Liu. As I said, I live in another city."
"Don't worry, we still have time to drip you early." Wang Yong pointed to the clock that said 7:20 am. He said. "Let's drop Bohai off first then you and I can chat as we drop you off, dear friend."
His eyes and smile contrasted each other.
