Chapter 17 All Devouring Energy Technique

Hearing what Junior brother Jin said, Wun Zhan thought about the rumors saying that the Sword Hall Master brought back a child to the academy when he went out. Although there were different reasons as to why the Sword Hall Master brought back the child, it was all forgotten after a few years. 

Thinking about it, Wun Zhan asked, "is junior brother Jin the one who was brought back by the Sword Master 5 years ago?"

"Yes, I am the one," Lu Jin answered.

"No wonder you will asked about the Sword Hall Master. But no one has seen or heard from him for over two years now. Some say he is in secluded cultivation, about to breakthrough into the Headmaster's rank, the sixth rank of Martial King Realm," Wun Zhan said as he looked at Lu Jin, he also said, "you should be careful, the sword master has not taken anybody from the outside world to the sect before, so people will want to see just how strong you are."

"I understand senior brother Zhan, thank you for your help," Lu Jin said as he went to his room.

"You won't have a peaceful stay if people figure out that the Sword Master brought you to the academy, junior brother Jin," Wun Zhan mumbled as he looked at Lu Jin climbing the stairs to his room.

Getting to the floor where his room was located, Lu Jin inserted his card in the lock before opening the door to his room. 

"Woah!" Lu Jin was amazed. This wasn't just a room, it was a complete house in a room. There was a rest room, a practice/training room, a bedroom, a room for visitors and a room for cultivation.

Everything one needed for cultivation was provided, and the quality of energy qi between the room and the outside world was really a different between the sun and a star.

Inhaling a little, Lu Jin could feel his body energy getting excited already.

Calming himself down, he muttered, "I have to get a good Mortal rank cultivation technique for my breakthrough and my cultivation throughout the xiantian realm."

"Is student Lu Jin here," someone called from outside.

Opening his door, Lu Jin saw a young man standing by the door, "is senior looking for me?"

"Take," senior brother said as he handed a ring over to Lu Jin

Taking the ring, Lu Jin asked, "senior, what is this ring for?"

"It's a storage ring. As the name implies, it is used for storing things. Well, non- living things, and your reward for the annual competition is in it. Do not try to open it now, only when you step into the xiantian realm can you open it and get your rewards," the senior brother said before leaving. 

"But what about my Lib....! Oh, it changed," Lu Jin said as he looked at his identity card now showing a level 2 for library.

"Time to take a look at the library. Getting a Mortal rank cultivation technique is a must, a couple of sword battle techniques and the history of Gu Gongy World," he said as he went outside, heading to the library.

The library was one of the four buildings. it was the second building after the xiantian realm cultivators building, having six floors, with the highest floor having the techniques of all the Academy's Hall Masters.

Entering the library, Lu Jin saw an elder reading a book by the corner of the library.

"This junior greets Elder....Su," seeing the name tag on the desk, Lu Jin knew it was the Elder's name.

"Where is your identity card, let me take a look," elder Su said, finally looking Lu Jin.

"Here it is," Lu Jin gave elder Su his identity card.

Seeing the card, elder Su said, "you can use the first floor and the second floor, but the third to six floor is prohibited. You have only three hours to choose your technique before being forced to leave. You can go."

He went back to reading his book after he was done speaking to Lu Jin.

Bowing, Lu Jin went into the Hall that said, floor one.

Seeing so many books, Lu Jin could not believe it, picking one, it was a core rank cultivation technique.

Lu Jin dropped it and picked another one, checking it out, it was still a core rank technique, "looks like only core rank techniques can be found here," he said as he went towards the stairs to the next floor.

"This is....," looking at bookshelf at a corner, he walked towards it. Picking up the biggest book with the cover having *History of Gu Gongy World,* he dropped it back before saying, "when I'm done with what I came for, I might browse through it."

Moving to the next floor, Lu Jin could see less books than that of the first floor.

This floor was divided into two, one for cultivation techniques and the other for battle techniques.

They were different types of cultivation techniques, going through the books one after the other, Lu Jin could see techniques that deals on attacks.

Using such techniques makes your attack to be 20% greater than your peers, some techniques deals on defense, it makes your defensive moves to be way stronger than normal and some deals on movement and agility.

Seeing all the attributes of the techniques, Lu Jin could not help but wish he could cultivate all of them, but that wass just wishful thinking.

In the academy, he learnt that trying to learn too many techniques at once during a limited amount of time does not make you as strong as someone who has learnt only one or two technique during that limited amount of time.

After going through all the cultivation techniques for over two hours, he picked two techniques that was really suitable for him as a sword cultivator and three that he thinks was really cool.

The two suitable techniques for Lu Jin were sword cultivating techniques and the other cool techniques he thought about were an attacking base technique, a defensive base technique and a movement base technique.

"I will choose the All Devouring Energy technique. It is made up of 5 levels, each level gives 20% increase in attack, 2% increase in defence for each level and 2% increase in movement for each level," he said as he kept back the other four techniques.

"Hehe, this junior brother really has goods eyes to be able to choose that cultivation technique and gut too. But out of 10 cultivators, only 1 can cultivate that technique to the fourth level and out of 100 cultivators, only 1 can cultivate to the fifth level," Ao Daj said as he looked at Lu Jin as if looking at a retard.

"I thank senior brother for his advice, but I have already made my choice, " Lu Jin said courteously, not minding the way the senior looked at him.

"Hmph! You don't know the depth of a valley unless you fall into one," Ao Daj said as he continued searching through the books.

Moving towards the battle techniques, Lu Jin saw so many sword techniques. 90% of the techniques were related to sword. 75% of the sword techniques were focused on attack, 10% on movement (dodging and escaping) and 5% on defense.

An example of an attack focused technique was the rustle sword technique, having two attacking moves, one defensive move and one dodging move.

Going through the battle techniques, Lu Jin was astonished at the forms of attack he saw.

"I already have the rustle sword technique, I will search for techniques that will assist it," he said as he continued searching for a fitting sword technique.

After half an hour, Lu Jin chose two sword techniques, *Splatter Void* technique and *Half Moon* technique. The Splatter Void technique has three moves, Cleave Zone, Wormhole and Black hole.

The Cleave Zone move is an attacking move that uses the sides of the sword to cleave down your opponent.

The Wormhole move is also an attacking move that uses the tip of the sword to pierce through obstacles in your path.

And finally the Black hole move. It's a defensive move that forms a door using energy qi, which absorbs the attacks sent towards you. If the energy qi of the attack is 40% more powerful than the energy qi of the black hole move, then the black hole technique will be broken and the attack will continue towards you.

The other battle technique was Half Moon technique, having only two moves, the Mirror Cut move and Shadow Slash move.

The Mirror Cut move creates an illusion when used. It creates a second sword cut following along the real cut.

The Shadow Slash is more like an assassination attack. It is not strong in a frontal clash, but if used when the opponent is of guard, it is difficult to track the trajectory of the sword.

After taking the manuals of the techniques, Lu Jin used the remaining half an hour to read about the History of Gu Gongy World.

It was said that the Gu Gongy World was not always divided into a lower and a higher world.

It was after a devastating war amongst the top powers of humanity and the top powers of the demons. The war created a rift in the air, and terrifying battle intent could be seen flowing in it. 

It was also said that only a Martial Dominator and above could be able to cross the rift due to how strong their energy Qi was.

What caused the war was not recorded in the book, only the States, Sects, Academies, Clans, Cities and other influential forces and powers were recorded.

Moving towards the exit, Lu Jin came before elder Su's desk.

"Write down the names of the manuals you took," elder Su said while looking at Lu Jin.

Seeing the name of the manuals Lu Jin took, the battle techniques were alright, but the cultivation technique was something else.

"Are you sure that you want to cultivate that technique, it will be better to choose something else," elder Su said out of good intentions.

"I thank elder for his goodwill, but I want to cultivate this technique," Lu Jin insisted.

"Ok, you are free to come and change it before the end of tomorrow," elder Su said, knowing just how difficult the technique was.

"Ok," Lu Jin said.

Coming outside, Lu Jin saw Ao Daj with some other senior brothers.

Seeing the manual in Lu Jin's hand, Ao Daj said, "you sure like wasting time and overestimating yourself."

"Brother Daj, do you know him," a senior asked while looking at Lu Jin

"No, I just met him at the library. He chose the All Devouring Energy techniq....."

Not even letting Ao Daj to finish speaking, the senior said, "the technique that inorder to reach the fifth level, which is the perfection stage, is said to be as hard as standing on a thin rope with one foot."

"A blind man indeed fears nothing," another senior said.

Looking at how his senior were mocking him for choosing such technique, Lu Jin didn't blame them, he knows how difficult the technique is, but who doesn't have confident in themselves.

But he was different, he doesn't have blind confident in himself. He was able to comprehend a move in a mortal rank battle technique in three days and the second move under life threatening situation in five days.

"Let leave," Ao Daj said to his friends as they left.

Moving to his room, Lu Jin locked the door so as to not be disturbed.

Going to the cultivation room, he sat down to calm himself first before taking out the cultivation manual.

Reading the first level of the technique, Lu Jin started comprehending as he entered a meditative state.

After four(4) hours, voooom...., the energy qi in the cultivation room surged towards Lu Jin.

Feeling the amount of energy entering his body and meridians, Lu Jin initiated the process for tempering his body and meridians.

"Eh...," stopping the process and opening his eyes, Lu Jin could see the energy qi around him.

"What is going on? How come I didn't feel anything? Is this technique fake?" Lu Jin said to himself, feeling confused about was just happened.
