Because She's My Wife

Feeling that his wife had not returned from the bathroom, Sean went after her there but he was a little hesitant to enter it.

Until finally he heard the voices of Mirai and also Odelia from inside the bathroom.

"What on earth are they doing?" he muttered then chose to enter the bathroom area.

There he was shocked by the sight of Mirai grabbing Odelia's hair until the woman whimpered in pain. Of course this immediately ignited Sean's emotions.

When Mirai was about to slap Odelia, Sean immediately grabbed her wrist. Making Mirai gasp in surprise and turn to him.

"M-Mr. Osbert!"

"How dare you do this to my wife!"

He slapped Mirai hard on the cheek then pulled the woman out of the bathroom. Sean pushed her until she fell to the floor. George came over immediately and saw the red marks on his wife's face.

"Mr. Osbert, what is the meaning of this? Did you just slap my wife?" asked George asking Sean, who was holding Odelia out of the bathroom, for an explanation.

"Yes, I did. She hurt my wife in the bathroom by pulling her hair and almost slapped her if I hadn't come to stop her!" replied the man angrily.

With a gaze full of anger, Sean looked at Mirai. "Have you no shame at all. Hurting a pregnant woman like her? Odelia's pregnant and you did something bad to her!"

"I-it's just... All because she yelled at me. I was upset so I reflexively almost slapped her," Mirai replied fearfully.

The man then asked Odelia what had made Odelia yell at Mirai. Of course she explained everything, where Mirai called her a lowly whore woman and deliberately slept with Sean in order to get pregnant and get the wealthy that the man had.

"She said I was just using you using this baby," explained the ginger-haired woman.

Of course, after hearing this explanation, Sean was even more angry because it was clearly not like that. Odelia even refused to tell him about the baby.

Seeing that the situation was getting difficult, George tried to speak up. "Mr. Osbert, there seems to be a misunderstanding here. Mirai does sometimes misunderstand things, I admit that and we apologize," he said kindly, he didn't want anything to happen to the relationship between the two of them.

He forced Mirai to apologize, but from the look on the woman's face, she didn't even show an expression of regret at all. That created another problem for Sean.

"Enough, I don't want to hear anything more from you two. And don't you think that this won't affect our company relationship," he said and then turned to George.

"Come to my office at 9am tomorrow, if you don't come or send someone else to replace you. I will terminate our company cooperation," Sean continued in a threatening tone.

George and Mirai were surprised to find out, of course they didn't want the company's cooperation to be terminated just like that. Moreover, TechnOzone is very influential on their company. If the cooperation was broken, the funds that would come in could also be withdrawn and their company would go bankrupt.

"M-Mr. Osbert, please don't go that far! It's just a small misunderstanding, should it be involved in the company's affairs?"

"Yes, because she is my wife. She's the reason why I want to build my company to be better. For the future of my wife and our children. And that wife of yours, dares to hurt her! I won't forgive what happened today."

"Tomorrow, 9am in my office. You don't come, it's over!" Sean gave an ultimatum and then took Odelia away from the restaurant.

He invited Odelia to sit for a while on a park bench in front of a shop. The woman leaned against Sean's shoulder as she sighed. Thinking about what Mirai had said to her. Why did people always think so little of her?

"Are you feeling better?" asked Sean as he rubbed Odelia's head.

"Yes, I'm starting to feel better. It's just that, I feel confused, why do people always do this to me. It was my ex-mother-in-law and sister-in-law who did it, and now it's someone I don't even really know. Easily saying bad things about me," she said confused by the situation around her.

Sean knew clearly what had caused Odelia to be treated like that. However, he was not sure whether Odelia would listen to him or not.

"All because you're too friendly, Odelia. You're too weak and nice to them, that's why they take you for granted," he replied.

She turned to look at him in confusion, was being friendly the wrong thing? Of course Sean answered her with a no, but in an era like this, not everyone would return the favor someone else gave them.

"They just take advantage of it, thinking that people like you will always tolerate what they do until you finally get fed up with them. You being too friendly just shows that you're easy for them to step on because they think you can't fight back."

Sean told Odelia to try to learn that from Megan. When Megan was with them, the woman would show her true childlike nature. But when she was out, she would act a little arrogant, showing that she was not a woman to be underestimated.

"I see, so I have to choose who I can be friendly with. It looks nice, but that doesn't mean everyone can accept my kindness?"

"Exactly. And I want you to learn to do so, so that when you meet them again, you have something to show that you're not what they say you are. You're Odelia, a great and strong woman, my beautiful wife. Show them that you are better than all of them, my wife," Sean said as he kissed the back of her hand.

She nodded in understanding, what Sean was saying was true. Every time she tried to remain patient, being kind because she thought others would be the same was wrong.

Odelia had to be able to form a hard shell so that they wouldn't see what was inside and look down on her anymore.

"You don't need to be evil, just be able to speak the truth without caring about the feelings of those who have hurt you. Show that the Mistress of the Osbert Family is a woman of charisma and dignity that cannot be stepped on."

"I understand now, thank you Sean. Since being with you, I feel that my life has become much better. I feel a lot of changes in me, and I will try to be a good Mrs. Osbert for you," she replied.

Sean smiled as soon as he heard that, he kissed Odelia on the forehead and pulled her into his arms.

"That's my wife."
