There is a small town, and it's surrounded by snow.
Around the town, there are what could be described as sentry guards, and they are surrounded by snow.
And there are even some buildings like warehouses and so on, and they are…
You know how it goes.
But let's focus on a certain hall displaying many trophies, where few elders were being informed about a visitor. Normally, they would not even bat an eye - there are always people going in and out.
But this time, it seems there is some sort of entirely new race.
"So you are telling me, it's some type of fairies, like… those green little things flying in the grass in the west?"
"Yes, something like that. Let me repeat, this one called itself 'little human', so it must be some new type."
Two elders were particularly curious about this.
But as in every discussion, there are also those silent types, who would think long before-hand of what they want to say, and let it leave their mouth at a time they consider being appropriate:
"I think it must be this… halfling. You know, those creatures from legends."
"But shouldn't halflings be even smaller?"
"But fairies are even smaller, right?!"
"So it is probably a halfling. And if not a halfling, it must be a fairy. That's it, what more do we need to resolve?"
It was those decisive words of the chief that ended the debate.
He was unlike the other giants - he was clever. Which was a rare trait among them. Much more rare than the ability to regenerate easily their bodies, which almost everyone could do.
"The lord speaks wisely. Let's give the half-halfling and half-fairy as a wedding gift to Trobi when our daughter marries next month."
"It can tell interesting stories and eats less than the cats we got around, right? Humpf, let's do it like that."
Meanwhile, a certain 'little human', who was seen as a type of fairy by some, was obviously unaware of that discussion.
But he was aware of the cats they spoke of. Those white tigers with black streaks and glowing, light blue eyes, with the size of 'cars'.
I hope the readers of my diary are more clever than the giants and obviously have figured that it's me.
I am now sitting atop of one of those cats, concluding a story:
"And so the son, Luke, confronted the black mage. He wielded his blue magic sword skillfully and used his enormous battle spirit to continue fighting, even though he was not as strong."
"Whoah…"
"Yeah, battle spirit."
Exactly. The reason this chapter is more childish is because my main role was to tell stories to children at this time.
"But the evil mage was cunning. He knew he could not bring Luke to despair in fight. He knew that Luke, with all his willpower, is invincible. So he waited till the fight pauses a little and only then told him few shocking words…"
"Luke… I am your father!"
The children were staring with their mouths agape. They are a really grateful listeners and have no idea what a movie is.
So I am presenting all those stories as the real thing.
Which is a lie.
You wouldn't believe it, perhaps; but I am a person who actually never lies. One can taste a great peace of mind like that. It's just that I ran out of wisdom how to explain the truth just now, and thus had to lower my standards.
Let me also let you know some other thing. It took two days after my stay in the village:
<Cold Resistance (level 2)>
<Passive skill>
<Your body became even more accustomed to the cold around you. You have higher endurance in freezing environments.>
And…
and…
If this was an anime, there would be the scene where the protagonist is holding his head proudly, real high, with his nose almost touching the clouds above him!
The scene of a level-up!
Double level-up!!
<Congratulations! You overcame the miseries of finding your first shelter in this world, resolving your hunger and the freezing cold.>
<Level-up! Your level is now 1.>
<Due to completing the conditions early, you resolved the quest 'Survive for 10 days' already.>
<Level-up! Your level is now 2.>
<Please remember to assign your new skillpoints.>
Huhuhu…
