Omega suspended

The cold wind passed through the window and swung the dark curtains signaling the beginning of another day. Opening his clear eyes, the omega awakened from his new heat feeling whole body tremble with cold.

Looking around, Theodore was surprised at the environment he was in. It had taken a few simple minutes to remember being at Gabriel's house, where they had spent the nights together since Wednesday. Turning his head, the omega found the sleeping alpha heavy holding his hand, and a smile shone from his lips.

He remembered them splendidly the first time, though he lost consciousness soon after that. Probably the heat would reach its peak and Theodore would no longer control his instincts, but he was not bothered by it.

Not when he had Gabriel holding his hand keeping his fingers entwined.

From the moment he fell in love with that alpha, he had not imagined that they would arrive at that point. Sharing the bed, holding hands or even having such intimacy. In fact that was much better than any fantasy, since there was the joy of being real.

Taking the left-handed free to move away the brown strands of Gabriel's forehead, the blond decorated the features of his face. Like a magnet that attracts his other half, Theodore's hand rested on Gabriel's jaw, letting his thumb caress his cheek gently. Being able to be by his side, the looking man sleeping serenely without having to rush out was his place in the world.

That's where it should be.

The breast was filled with happiness, which barely fit in it. That omega wanted to scream against the pillow such happiness to have reached that point.

He did not do so only when Gabriel's eyes opened slowly, remaining paralysed from being caught about to celebrate an end of heat.

― Um... why are you awake, Theo?

That the heavens would be kind to his poor soul, Theodore would shiver at the sound of Gabriel's voice sounding hoarse and lazy. Suddenly he wanted to sleep longer and wake up again just to hear that voice again.

― I woke you up? Sorry, you can sleep again.

Gabriel rolled around on the bed stretching his arm to get the watch on the dresser next to the bed. Peeking at the hours, the alpha yawned and shrank back under the covers pulling at Theodore's waist.

― We still have time, relax.

― Your parents are coming... Holy shit, your parents are coming.

Theodore hurriedly sat on the bed about to throw the covers and run to the bathroom where he could get ready. But Gabriel's strong arm had held his waist pulling him to lie down again. This time with no gap space, with their bodies completely leaning against each other.

― Ten more minutes, it's warm in here.

Blushing stupidly, Theodore shrunk his arms not knowing what to do besides facing Gabriel close his eyes.

― All right... ten minutes then.

Gabriel smiled lazily and hid his face in the curvature of Theodore's neck. They were about to get some more sleep when Gabriel's phone rang on the dresser. The alpha had complained and rummaged trying to ignore the loud touch, but in the end stretched his arm to take the device and serve it.

― Hello.

― What is that voice? Were you sleeping?

Moving away from the phone, Gabriel peeked into the viewfinder reading his best friend's name, and then could sigh.

― Yes, but then...

― Are you free today?

Gabriel had looked at Theodore, who looked at him curious without the slightest drop of sleep. Messing up his blonde hair seeing him blush and smile, the alpha let out a low laugh,.

― Take the day off to rest, why?

― I need your help. I actually need to borrow some clothes.

― Clothes? My own?

― Yeah. Can you get it to school before we leave for another city?

Theodore could no longer hear the conversation when Gabriel got up from bed and out into the closet.

― You should wear a bigger number than mine, Milles. But I think I should have something here. No, it's okay! I'll be right there.

Noticing the final sentence of the call, Theodore sat on the bed watching the busybody with curiosity.

― Did something happen?

― It seems so. Today he has the qualifying match, and for some reason Milles borrowed clothes.

― I'll go along then, I can go home next.

― You trying to get away from me, huh?

Theodore paralysed at the same moment, turning to Gabriel who looked at him with a sneaky smile. In that bush there were rabbits, for sure. He was feeling impressively good next to the alpha, like they were lovers for a lifetime. Would something have happened in his heat and now did not remember?

― No... I... I just don't want to give your parents any trouble...

— Relax, Theo. Actually, it's good to come with me. ― Gabriel said going back to the closet picking up some clothes and checking the labels. ― Milles asked me to drive him to the captain's house.

― Nico's? ls he there?

— Something must have happened, I don't know. ― Raising his head again to the omega, Gabriel then opened a wide smile ― So, will you stay with me or run away from me?

Holding a pillow, the omega had thrown him towards the alpha.

― I said I wouldn't run.

That cold morning was well received by the couple. While Theodore was bathing and getting ready, Gabriel separated the clothes in a backpack. When it was half past six in the morning, the two boys had already left the house of the alpha to go down the street and to the house of Nicolas.

Shrunk in his sweatshirt, Theodore adjusted the cap on his head managing to scare the cold minimally. Through the deserted and silent streets, the omega felt Gabriel's warm hand intertwine his fingers. Turning to face him, he had not ceased to laugh with the broad smile of the alpha.

― You wanted to hold my hand that much?

― I wanted to. It tastes good.

― You held even while sleeping. ― Murmured the omega, kicking a pebble in his attempt to escape from Gabriel's charming eyes.

― Don't you feel this insane urge to want to stick together?

― No.

― Ah, that hurt. ― Laugh Gabriel shaking his hands together childishly. ― But I feel, so I will enjoy more time.

― You're all cheerful. Did something good happen during my heat?

The question was innocent, but Theodore had noticed the simple grip on his hand and the warm gaze that the alpha directed at him.

― It's a secret for now.

The seed of curiosity had been successfully planted, although Theodore did not question anything else. He had some flashes of memories of his heat, but nothing revealing to the point that it needed to be kept secret. In fact his mind was bombarded with touches, voices, pleasant sensations and the warmth that grew inside him. Only memories of the intimacy he had with Gabriel.

On the one hand, Theodore breathed relieved to see the brunette acting that way. He had found in the bath that he had not been bitten, although his skin contained dashing marks scattered across his back and belly.

The fear that their heat would cause a rupture in the relationship between them had dissipated when Gabriel again held his hand.

Things between them were not shaken, which was a relief.

When the boys finally arrived at Nicolas's house, Theodore had taken the initiative to give three knocks on the door until he saw Milles standing behind with messy hair.

― Oooh, good morning fugitive couple. ― Smile the alpha, arching the eyebrow for Theodore. ― Are you able to walk?

A backpack was thrown directly into the arms of the blonde alpha, who just laughed fun. Blinking a few times, the blonde turned back noting that Gabriel was slightly flushed even after throwing the backpack.

― You're talking too much already.

― Why are you here at Nico's house? ― Asked Theodore when entering the house, looking around without seeing his friend in the kitchen or living room. ― And where is he?

― In bed. Come in.

Stunned by Milles' familiarity with inviting him into a house he had frequented since childhood, Theodore looked at Gabriel who had wisely swung his shoulders. Stuck up the omega followed the athlete to the room, whose curtains were still closed.

Lying on the bed on his stomach was Nicolas hugging his pillow, trying to massage his back amid groans.

― Nico!

― Oh what a beauty, now I want to die.

Milles had let out a loud laugh swinging his backpack for the captain.

― I'd love to see your face in admitting what happened, but I have to pretend I don't care.

— Disappears your filthy pole! ― Nicolas screamed throwing the pillow against the bathroom door, closed in time. ― Aaah, my ass, what the fuck.

Rushing to his friend's side, Theodore had helped him sit listening to Nicolas's grumbles.

― But what happened? Were you fighting?

Nicolas faced Theodore, then Gabriel and then sighed defeated. Pulling the blankets over his body cowering in the cold, the omega had then recounted what had happened the night before. First about the discussion with Thunder and then, without much detail, the night he spent with Milles.

It would not be new that Nicolas and Milles came to relate sexually given that there was a bite between them. However it was surprising to see the omega admit with his face all reddish in shame. Theodore and Gabriel looked at each other in amazement, digesting the information and trying to get used to that level of intimacy between two people who at first hated each other.

― Wait, let me get this straight, so you can't walk straight today that has a departure?

― Are you talking too loud to fuck with me, Theo?

― Maybe...

― Then go fuck yourself. ― Complained omega turning cheek.

— I understand you guys being in on this, but why did you fight with Thunder? ― Asked Gabriel to pull the chair next to the computer table of Nicolas and can sit. ― You are very strange lately.

― That worm steps on my callus whenever he can.

— Tell the things right, your sorehead. ― Fought Milles adjusting the sweatpants that Gabriel had lent him when leaving the bathroom. ― The couple was busy in the flower garden, they won't understand if you're growling.

― Theo calls the police, I'll commit murder right away.

— Calm down, I'm going crazy already. ― It interfered Theodore, trying his best not to laugh at the strange, fascinating intimacy between those two ― What happened while I was away?

And then it was Milles who told about the rumours, the new chapter published, the photo posted in the community and the heated discussion between Nicolas and Thunder. The blond omega remembered his conversation with Lilian earlier in the week about Sadie also being in heat, but the shock was still great. Even though he was aware that it would yield rumours for the school, Theodore had accepted Gabriel's proposal.

He didn't regret it, of course.

However, his friend had quarrelled with someone because of him. Or in part. Theodore's fingers closed in a trembling fist. Going back to school would be more difficult than he imagined. He should have thought better before agreeing to stay with Gabriel.

— Listen, you can stop thinking shit. ― Nicolas said, having trouble getting up to stand in front of his friend. ― This fight says more about me than you, Theo.

― But...

― He only used your name to get it because it was in the bank last week. It's not you, it's me. Okay?

Sighing low, Theodore agreed with his head. Although the guilt did not spread so easily.

― All right, so while we're here, let's follow the class at the gym.

― Are you sure? If people see you two together, they'll say you're dating.

Gabriel had held Theodore's hand and opened his smiling knight.

― All right, we're in this together. Right, Theo?

― If by you is alright.

― Now leak from my room that I want to change. ― Grumbled Nicolas leaning on the closet while trying to go to the bathroom.

While waiting for Nicolas to finish dressing up, Theodore kept thinking about the little bomb that was on his feet. If Sadie had been in heat and had gone to school at the same time as him, then surely a part of the school would take Gabriel as its partner.

And then, all of a sudden, he would show up with Theodore. Wouldn't that be the same thing as telling everyone they were together? Even if the blond wanted not to care, there was a shadow that brought back memories the last time he returned from his heat. The day your world collapsed.

Didn't want to lose Gabriel at all. Not when they were getting along so well.

Taking a deep breath, the omega felt Gabriel's hands over his shoulder and a seal on top of his head. Leaning enough to meet with the eyes of the alpha, he found that feeling so warm and comforting. A clear message that he shouldn't think of anything absurd, or blame yourself or anything like that.

― I can walk alone, look!

― Did I pull you up to walk this way? I'll help you.

― I said I can walk alone!

Theodore and Gabriel turned to the hallway where they saw a pillow being thrown through the door. They would definitely need to get used to Nicolas and Milles together.

― That way we'll arrive tomorrow.

― Nico walks soon, we didn't even have breakfast.

The two boys heard some whispers, but in the end Milles had left the room carrying the captain on his back.

― Keep your mouth shut ― Growled the omega by pointing at the other couple.

Theodore and Gabriel cleverly pressed their lips in denial, sealing the secret of what they had seen there. Leaving Nicolas's house, the four soon arrived at school and went to the gym.

The feeling of stepping into school on Saturday was very strange, especially when they saw a bus stopped in the courtyard near the gym. They did not have many students other than those belonging to the school team, and yet Theodore was anxious when his presence was noticed by the players.

Prying eyes and whispering would be enough for the omega to lower its head and shrug its shoulders. Even stopping walking, Theodore turns Milles carry Nicolas without caring to be the center of attention.

He had a lot to learn from them, which was already fascinating.

― Didn't get on the bus yet why? ― Complained Nicolas to one of the players, pretending not to be great things being on the back of a Mckenzie.

― The coordinator is talking to the teacher in the gym. ― Was mumbling one of the first year boys.

Theodore had been able to hear from afar the bite of Nicolas's teeth. Probably your mother didn't know about the bite, or any other mess the son would have made. The blond could only pity the immense trouble that Nicolas would be when he got home.

― I think we have problems. ― Gabriel whispered to Theodore. ― Was the fight very ugly?

― I'm scared to death.

The door of the gym outside open from there the teacher and the coordinator. The look the woman had cast at Nicolas was enough for the omega to look away and get goose bumps.

― Come in, now. Everyone.

― Oh, Moss and Jones, I'm so relieved that you're here ― Was sighing at the teacher as he held both of them by the shoulders and pushed into the gym ― I'm gonna need you today, but first let's get into trouble, okay?

All the players gathered in the gym sitting on the floor looking scared to the figure of the coordinator. Only Nicolas had remained seated on his backpack, unable to face his own mother who was shooting him with her gaze.

— All right, looks like our school team must be forgetting that they're still students ― The woman started walking around with her arms crossed. ― I loved having to spend the night trying to find someone to come to school to fix the shower that broke in the locker room.

The players looked at each other amazed, and the guilty only pretended not to be with them. It was hard to contain the urge to look at Nicolas and Milles questioningly. What the hell did those two do to the point of breaking a shower? The coordinator had stopped walking and stood in front of the group, her presence being intimidating enough to silence the whispers.

— The Montreal school does not accept fights between students, you should already know that. I've been notified of what happened last night, and I'm amazed you think your teachers are stupid enough to be fooled by a bunch of teenagers. ― The eyes of the coordinator made the young people hold their breath. ― School is a place to acquire knowledge and culture, not to discuss personal issues. This you can do outside our gates.

— Boys are very serious what you did. Fight to the point of breaking vases or even break a shower... What if someone had seriously hurt?

― It seems that this has already happened, professor. ― Poking Boyle, staring at Nicolas.

The heavy sighing omega casting a icy gaze toward Boyle.

― You think Milles ripped that shit out of my ass? If he'd hit that thing on me, I wouldn't be here, you moron.

― So it was Milles who pulled the pipe?

― Wow, wow, it was not me. ― Protesting the alpha raising his hands in surrender. ― The vase was fine, but the shower was not me.

― With all due respect, but the captain has no height to break a shower ― a first-year boy had insisted.

― Theodore.... What the hell happened yesterday? ― Gabriel whispered as amazed as the blonde omega. ― Did they invade our school?

The omega did not know how to answer, was as stunned as his stay and the other boys of the team. The coach held a sheet reading the content.

— Some cabinets will have to be repositioned, as they were dented and some locks broke. The bench you were supposed to use to sit civilized was found in the middle of the corridor, not to mention the absurd amount of water that has spread... Oh my pocket... that'll eat my entire salary.

― All right, I can talk to my parents about it since it was me who caused this... mess. ― Calmed Milles scratching the neck.

— The problem isn't the covenant of materials, Mr. Mckenzie, could you fix the way you two relate? Team-mates who fight each other, where have you seen this? The faculty is making the greatest effort to improve the reputation of our school, and now you want to throw it all in the trash because of bullshit?

― Bullshit? Tsk.

The coordinator had cast her sharp gaze towards Nicolas, but had said nothing. Breathing deeply so as not to lose her composure, the woman reached out to the teacher who had handed the sheet to her.

— Very well. According to the reports of the Montreal team, those involved would be Thunder, Nicolas and Milles, proceed? ― Although nobody said it out loud, the boys on the team agreed with the head. ― Thunder and Mckenzie get the second warning this year, but Monday I want you both in my office to apply the proper punishments. Nicolas, your third warning.

Theodore widened his eyes to the other students when the coordinator lowered the sheet and stared at Nicolas. They knew very well what would come when they received the third warning. The question was that no student had come to that point.

At least not until then.

― Nicolas Howard, you will be suspended from all school and sports activities related to that school for a period of fifteen days from today.
