Being a Werewolf

Jason's POV

I wrapped my arms around Kitty giving her a hug. I guess I should call her Katie now. "You said your friends call you...'Katie'," I asked. Katie nodded and looked up at me. I began to hesitate. I had to tell her before she left tomorrow. "So how do I say this? Umm, you can't leave."

Katie simply giggled. "Jason, as much as you want me to, I can't stay here. You know I have to go home." Oh *bleep* this is gonna be complicated. "Katie, look in the mirror, your eyes are glowing, you have ears and a sexy tail, you're a werewolf." I felt my ears lay against my head. Katie is mad! Very mad! I cannot look at that face anymore. Well, at least she'll be safe from society. But Katie will never talk to me.

The next day...

This feeling...what do the humans call it? Sadness? Is this what I am feeling? I walked to the kitchen, my ears were still drooped, and I looked into the fridge. Low on food. Looks like I need to go hunting again. Maybe I'll ask Katie to come and I can show her how to be a werewolf! But then, she probably won't be any happier.

"Umm, hey Kate-lyn," Katelyn looked at me with a cold glare. I get it okay? "Uhh, so, if you want to leave, well, for a while...heheh I mean you are a werewolf now and obviously everyone will try to kill you now. But-" "Just tell me," she growled. "You can come hunting with me when it gets dark," I said almost nervously, "And besides, it's much nicer at that time of day." Katelyn perked her ears. So I guess that caught her attention. Umm, "Oh hey, look at that car over there! It's so... Red."

Katelyn's POV

I gently smiled. Ok Jason you win. I really can't help but smile when he does that. Jason's face suddenly filled with fear. "Not now," he whimpered. "What did you do," I asked. Jason glared at me, not answering. I twitched my ear, I could hear footsteps coming near. "What did you do," I asked again. The sound of someone knocking on the door, made Jason flinch. "So, I'm kind of in debt with another werewolf..." "Really?"

"And now he's mad that I haven't paid him back," he said nervously. I palmed my face.

But, maybe I can help out...

"What do you owe him?"

"...Some food."

"Really?"

"This one time I told him that if he could create a diversion, I would hunt something for him."

There was knocking on the door once more. "Jason! I know you're in there," a voice shouted. "No I'm not," Jason shouted back. "Don't make me kick down the door," they shouted again. I looked at Jason. "Well, are you gonna open the door?" Jason sighed. "Fine."

Jason's POV

With my ears dropped, I walked slowly to the door and reluctantly opened it. I looked at the werewolf in front of me with a cheesy smile. "Hi!" "Hello, Jason," said Luke. Luke looked at Katelyn, and perked his ears and then said quiet "That's a cute female--" I quickly snarled. "She's mine! Back off!" "Okay, okay," Luke said calmly, "Sorry. But anyway, you know why I'm here. So give it to me." "I don't have much, but I'll go get it." I walked to the fridge, sighing as I opened it.

May as well give him the rest. I took the rest of the meat from my fridge and gave it to Luke. "Are you happy now," I asked. Luke wagged his tail. "Yup." Luke walked away and I closed my door. My stomach starts growling. But I just gave away all my food.

"Why does he get to walk out in broad daylight," Katelyn asks. "Because he's protected by, well, other humans. Other humans that like him," I replied. "Are you saying that nobody likes you," Katelyn asks. "Pretty much," I said, sighing. "I like you," Katelyn said quietly. My ears tilted as I looked at her, slightly confused.

"Uhh, well, I mean, I like having you around," Katelyn said awkwardly, "I mean, you can be really funny actually. I mean no, that's not-" I gently tapped her tail and in an instant she jumped back and barked, sounding like a chihuahua. Cute. But also scary.
