Eliminating Threats and Unleashing Chaos

To ensure everything went smoothly, I had to take out the two Blood Moon elders. I snuck up the mountain where the elders' residences are early in the morning before the wedding and entered their home. I'd observed the elders' morning routine many times and knew that the maids of Elder Bryce Tillerson prepared food and drink for his breakfast.

His breakfast would be prepared in the kitchen then set on the counter for another maid to collect and take to him right as he woke up. I waited for his breakfast to be finished and set on the counter before adding some Nebula Nectar to both the food and drink. I had to use Nebula Nectar since he was in the supreme attainment realm.

I followed the maid who picked up the food from the counter into the elder's room. The room was very large, containing a massive fireplace with a couch placed in front of it, the biggest bed I'd ever seen, and a beautiful round wood table with four chairs surrounding it.

The elder was buttoning his robe as the maid entered and put the plate and cup on the table then quietly left. I stood in the corner as he put the last button in place and sat down to eat. It took him a few bites to realize something was wrong. His eyes turned bloodshot and his face colored purple as he tried to rush to the door for help but collapsed halfway, his hands stretching out as he succumbed to the poison.

I devoured the body and the food on the plate, hoping everyone would think he left after he finished eating. The power boost from a supreme attainment was really nice, giving me more confidence in holding off the patriarch later until the poison took effect.

That was the second reason for killing the elders, getting more power to strengthen myself when I have to fight later. The first was to ensure they couldn't show up and cause any trouble or try to take revenge. Running from two supreme attainments would be a nightmare, especially since Luna was only peak astral refinement right now.

After completing my goal here, I left and headed to the other elder's home, Wallace something or other. He was kind of lazy, not participating in sect affairs and wouldn't wake up for at least another two hours. He wasn't the brightest, mainly serving the purpose of boosting the number of supreme attainment people in the sect. Apparently, the only reason he reached supreme attainment was that he had a high absorption rate of astral energy, and his family had lots of money to buy stones when he was a kid.

I couldn't poison his food as some of his staff would eat with him, so I'll have to kill him in his sleep before he has breakfast. For this, I prepared a needle coated in Nebula Nectar.

His house was silent; the staff would only wake up in an hour, and the elder would wake in two. I made my way to his room; it was set up in much the same way as the late Elder Bryce's. Silently walking up to his bed, I saw a fat naked man laying on his stomach, snoring away with the covers pushed off to the side. I so do not want to see this again, at least he isn't laying on his back though.

I thrust the needle into his heart and quickly stepped back; he woke with a start and tried to scratch his back where he found the needle and yanked it out pulling it around his face to examine it.

"Who dares?" He let out a strangled whisper as the poison took effect.

He crawled off the bed and collapsed to the floor with a thud that seemed to shake the whole room. I need to hurry up disposing of his corpse in case anyone comes to check the noise. Quickly activating the devour skill, I cleaned up the corpse and needle.

Just as I was leaving through the window, I heard knocking on the door. Hanging on the window sill, I pulled it closed, returning the room to the original state. I jumped down and left the mountain back to the main part of the sect.

A few hours later, the Twin Moon Sect arrived, as well as a few people from the Sun Sect. I took my place behind the patriarch's chair and sat down, waiting for the event to start. I was extremely nervous as there were some possibilities of things going wrong, mainly the elders being missing. I don't think that will be discovered in time, but I can't say for sure.

People started gathering in the seats positioned in front of the stage where the patriarch and matriarch would be seated.

I had thought about just beheading him since I can get so close, but the more I thought about it, I am 99% sure he's powerful enough to sense a sword coming through the air for his head. Shooting him with a crossbow has the same problem. As for strangling him, not only would I have to be super close to someone much more powerful than me to do it, I think he could probably break that thin wire even being Grade 5.

I waited patiently for everyone to make their entrance. After a while, the matriarch and patriarch took their seats. Thank fuck he sat down, another thing that could have gone wrong.

Kedron made a grand entrance wearing a robe that was extra flashy today and definitely not approved for wearing at the Blood Moon Sect. He came from off to the left of the stage and walked to the front and bowed to the patriarch before standing in front waiting for Luna.

Luna entered wearing the standard Twin Moon robe and stood in front of Kedron. Kedron licked his lips and looked her up and down. I felt burning rage boiling in my heart and had the urge to force milk and honey down his throat until he was spewing vomit and diarrhea everywhere, then tie him to a boat in the middle of a still lake and let the insects eat him alive over several weeks, but tamped it down so as not to ruin all the plans. This made it dawn that I cared about her at least a little and didn't want anyone else to touch her, I'd wondered before but now I'm sure.

Luna adjusted the band on her arm, the signal to say "I'm ready anytime now." I felt that familiar sensation of adrenaline in my veins as my blood heated. I placed one hand on my sword and another on the lever under the chair to release the poisonous blades into the patriarch's ass.

Alright, here goes, I thought, and pulled the lever. The patriarch roared as he shot up from his seat, clutching his ass and balls. Bingo, bullseye! Everyone looked terrified. I dropped my invisibility and closed the few feet of distance between the matriarch and me, counting on Luna to play her part and look terrified along with the crowd, shouldn't be that hard in reality, the guy is terrifying.

Swinging my sword at the neck of the stunned matriarch, I severed her head. So far so good. Before the head hit the ground, I grabbed it by the hair and yeeted it at the patriarch's head. So far it had been less than a second. Still clutching his balls, he dodged the flying head.

He looked at his chair with blades sticking up from the seat then in the direction the head had come from; he seemed to sense the blades were poisoned and drew his sword. I approached and swung my sword at him; he blocked it. Clang! The blades crashed into each other; I could feel both my arms vibrating.

"I'll kill you, brat!"

"You'll die anyway. May as well go now rather than later."

I jumped back, and he followed me swinging, so fast! I barely deflected it as he launched more attacks. I kept dodging and going further away from the place where Luna was to make room for her.

Slap! A slap could be heard as Luna slapped Kedron's cheek then her sword flew through the air, and a red line appeared on his neck as blood poured out. She kicked him in the balls and jumped behind the matriarch's chair away from him. He doubled over and vomited ugly with it spraying out his severed neck also.

I was distracted at that moment, and the patriarch's sword sliced across my stomach, leaving a big wound. I thought I was done for. I knew it happened but couldn't even feel it at the moment, realizing I could still move, I thanked my lucky stars as if it had gone much deeper I wouldn't be able to, and I'd be dead now.

Thankfully, his movements finally slowed to a point where I could dodge easily and take a recovery pill. He made one last desperate attempt but ultimately fell short before collapsing to the stage.

[Congratulations! You have completed your task. The reward has been delivered to the system inventory.]

I released my aura, mimicking a supreme attainment, not that any of the disciples could feel it but one of the Twin Moon elders, who as I suspected, just kept seated and observed the whole thing, would be able to and probably spread the word.

I crashed through the wooden wall behind the sect leader's seats, which I had modified to only be paper-thin. The only other way to escape would have been to go through the crowd, but I thought that could turn very bad very quickly. Luna followed through the hole, and I picked her up to start running.

The Twin Moon Sect elders were very slow to get moving and organize people to go after us. They very likely didn't actually care about anything but still had to maintain appearances. I could hear their shouts as we ran away, selecting a team to chase.

The Blood Moon disciples were in chaos without anyone to give instructions and many of them probably even cheering for us in their hearts for killing Kedron.

I entered one of the empty alchemy buildings where I had stored different color robes for each of us, as well as a hat for Luna to cover her visible hair.

I put Luna down in one room and went outside the doorway and started changing.

"Don't look!" She said from inside.

"I won't, just hurry."

It took about 30 seconds to change, and I grabbed the bottom of her hair and wound it up around my fingers, stuffing it under the hat. It was going to be all tangled later, but that was not a problem for now.

We exited through the back of the alchemy building where I picked her up again and struck off towards the forest. I wasn't carrying her because she couldn't run herself, but because her running was much slower than me even while carrying her. Also, I don't get physically tired due to the way my body now works with Kitty helping to adjust it with energy.

I ran down the mountain on one of the back paths instead of using the main stairs and headed into the forest. I headed in the direction that was opposite to the three sects. I still don't know how large the forest is, but I hope to reach the other side sometime so I went in a straight line.

Several chapters today.
