A Million Needles

Xander went back to the main mansion and as soon as he entered his room he went straight to the bathroom and turned on the shower, as he stood right under the shower and water was dripping from his head to wet the rest of his body, his jaw ticked and he clenched his fists while thinking about Katherine, the girl he met one year ago.

Just like Katherine, Xander Ling was not able to forget or get Katherine out of his mind, her confession stirred so many feelings in him, the feelings that he thought he was incapable of having. He had been watching her during that one year and he had been helping her achieve her dreams and goals from behind the scenes, many times some people who didn't like her had tried to harm her but they never succeeded because Xander was watching her back and so he always dealt with them without her knowledge.

Xander didn't know when it happened or how it happened but all he knew was that he had fallen in love with the girl that he first met in Hong Kong, he had fallen in love with the girl who seemed to be strong, courageous, smart, brave yet innocent, stupid and naive at the same time, he had fallen in love with the girl who believed that he was a good man even after seeing him sentence the scums that kidnapped her to a torturous death, he had fallen in love with the girl who was courageous enough to confess her feelings to him and even told him that he was her first love.

"That bastard!" Xander cursed Tom through his gritted teeth. He was sure that Tom had everything to do with the kidnapping of Katherine but then seeing how the man was adamant on not speaking even going through so much torture Xander knew that there was more to this, Xander knew very well how to break people and Tom is nothing special, he would get to the bottom of this.

Xander regretted ever allowing him to get close to Katherine, he remembered the photos that his men brought to him when Katherine and Tom first met, as much as he was protective of her he did not want to deprive her of having friends and having her own people. Xander didn't show himself to Katherine during the one year period because he wanted to give her time and space to achieve her dreams and goals independently, he didn't want to be a hindrance to her success.

Xander was planning to woo her first and then propose to her after two years but now that she's missing he deeply regret waiting for her and keeping his distance from her.

When he got out of the shower he wore a robe and then took his phone and dialed his assistant's line, as soon as Mr Chen picked up the call he heard his boss say "put a tail on that bastard and report every single thing that he does and every single person that he meets, also i want a full in-depth background check on him as soon as possible." having said that Xander cut the call and lied down on the bed and a frustrated sigh left his mouth.

Five days later, Katherine woke up feeling her head throbbing in pain, she slowly opened her eyes and saw that she was in what seemed to be an underground basement, her eyes quickly snapped to her left side when she heard some movements coming from there, Katherine was baffled to see that she wasn't the only one there. She saw that there were six young women with her in the basement and they looked equally as shocked and scared as she was.

A few minutes later the door was suddenly pushed open by a huge scary looking woman, she didn't bother saying anything to them as she made her way towards one of the girls and dragged her outside, while some of the girls were scared to death of what was going to happen to them, Katherine and two other girls tried to move and help the girl that was screaming while being dragged out by the scary looking woman but they couldn't move much because they didn't have any strength in their bodies, it's like they were drugged to keep them from trying to to escape.

One after the other the huge scary woman took the girls out until Katherine was the only one left in the basement, she noted that it was after about two or three hours each that the woman would come to take the girls. It was already late at night when Katherine heard the open, she had already started to doze off because her body was growing weaker and weaker as time passes.

And just like everybody else Katherine was dragged out by the woman and she didn't even try to fight her because she knew it was useless. As they walked in the large hallway she noticed that the entire place was painted in black and there were many identical looking closed large doors in the hallway with nothing to separate them from each other but their numbers.

When they reached the last door the woman pressed her thumb on the door and the door automatically opened and Katherine was pushed inside. She had to close her eyes for a few seconds before they adjusted to the light because the room was brightly lit. Another scary looking woman who was bigger than the previous one stood in front of Katherine and then handed her a set of clothing and asked her to change in to it, she was taken to a side of the room that had a partition on and the woman stood on the other side of the screen.

Katherine began to change and she noticed that it was a white bra, white panties, white spaghetti strap crop top that stopped right above her belly button and white shorts that stopped at her mid thigh. She was not okay wearing this minimal clothing but then Katherine wasn't okay with any of this, she decided to be obedient for now until she sees a chance to escape from this place.

When she was done changing she stepped out of the screen and the woman dragged her to a door that was carefully hidden in the room and as soon as it opened the woman pushed her in and the door locked itself automatically.

If Katherine wasn't kidnapped she would have been in awe at what she saw, there were more than ten cool looking scientists and they were all women, the entire room was painted white and it was brightly lit, she saw so many machines and other scientific things that she wasn't familiar with.

The place looked like a hospital and a scientific experimental lab, she saw a bunch of chemicals there.

A petite looking woman came to Katherine and guided her to the bed, she made her lie down on her back and Katherine was scared, she thought they were going to remove one of her kidneys, she started to struggle to free herself but the doctors held her down and handcuffed both her hands at either side of the bed and then did the same to her legs as well.

"Who are you? What are you doing to me? Where are the other girls?" asked the scared Katherine.

"You don't need to know who we are, but we are going to make you something so special that the world has never seen before but it all depends on if you survive this first procedure because for the past thirty years none of the women we have injected survived, but our boss is rich and stubborn hence this experiment continued, thousands of women have died in the process but you don't have to worry because we will bury you in a really expensive coffin and your family will anonymously receive compensation so your sacrifice will not go to waste. " The woman who seemed to be the eldest and in charge said to Katherine.

Katherine's face went even paler than she already was, she was mortified realizing that she was going to die just like that, tears rolled down from her cheeks before she felt the woman inject her with something, and she froze.

For ten minutes nothing happened and she thought she had passed the test but her happiness was short lived when she felt a pain like she had never felt before in her entire life, it was as if she was thrown in a fire that was burning her body in and out and she felt like a million needles were digging in to her entire body at the same time.

"AHHHHHHHHH" Katherine screamed at the top of her lungs. She didn't know that such pain could exist in this world, nobody could survive this pain and she was sure that she would not be able to survive it either, she was sure that she was going to die that day.
