Zombies VS The Useless Trio VS Ice Queen (3)

"So much for a team…" Tyson said as he also joined the others at the cabin.

They were already arguing again as Tyson entered the cabin, and a pillow was coming in his direction.

"What in the world is happening?"

"Nothing," Lynn said, "Just Sam throwing a rant because Viviane is going to stay in her room."

"Why should I share a room with her, Lynn? She may murder me with her ice shards while I'm sleeping!"

Lynn shrugged, "Not my fault that you sort of insulted her. This teaches you to not go insulting everyone. Especially someone who can summon ice."

"So, I should just have let her hurt you with her ice shards? Well, thanks. Self-note for the next time."

Tyson looked for Viviane but she was not in sight, "Hey, guys, where is Viviane?"

"In my room. Wait… our room," Sam sighed.

"She doesn't seem like someone who is going to really harm us, Sam. She somehow reminds me of a mother," Tyson said.

"A teen mom? Tyson, seriously, she barely looks as if she were in her 20s. I doubt she has been someone's mother," Lynn added.

Viviane's voice then came from upstairs, "Just for your information, I'm older than the three of you by… let's say a lot. So yeah, I've got all my rights to rant you like a mother. Also, Lynn, you are my bloody responsibility since it's what Merlin wished for."

"What exactly is your relationship with my grandfather?"

"Wait… Lynn, why is your grandfather's name Merlin? Is your family a fan of the Legend of King Arthur or what?" Tyson asked.

"Well… I'm not sure… maybe?"

"His family is not a fan of the Legend of King Arthur. His grandfather was Merlin himself," Viviane rolled her eyes.

Sam scoffed, "If Lynn's grandfather was Merlin then what would that make you? The Lady of the Lake?"

"You are definitely the smart one of the group."

"No way… this is insane. Do you know what tops up a zombie apocalypse? A woman who can conjure ice who calls herself the Lady of the Lake, and now Lynn's grandfather comes from a story?"

"Not any story, girl. Merlin is the greatest sorcerer of history. Also, I haven't called myself the Lady of the Lake. I prefer my given name, Viviane. The Lady of the Lake is just… different…"

Sam would have asked Viviane what she meant by that, but she remained stubborn with the fact that Merlin, the sorcerer, was Lynn's grandfather. "So what? He was not real. It's like saying when people say that Sherlock Holmes is the greatest detective in the world. No one would refute that. We, British, even got a museum in his honor, but that doesn't make him any more real than a fairytale," Sam said with certainty.

Viviane then crossed her arms and asked, "So, would you also call the zombies a fantasy? Because the last time I checked, zombies were something you saw in movies. I should have let you been bitten by one to see if you consider that a fairytale as well."

Viviane had left Sam speechless. This was the first time someone had been able to throw a good argument at her.

"Well… that's true, but how do you explain the whole Merlin thing? The zombies could have come from a virus, or I don't know what, but a character of a story how is it going to appear randomly in the real world?"

"Sam, I think that would be possible," Tyson interrupted, "What if we are in reality characters from a story. You know like in those superhero comics! Where there are alternate universes, variants of us! Oh… that would suddenly explain the zombies, Viviane's ice powers. We are the side characters of this story! I'm the comic relief, you are the female sidekick who is more powerful than the MC, Viviane is the mentor of the MC, and Lynn he is the MC!" Tyson was excited. He looked like a five-year-old kid very proud of his deduction.

"I… I think Tyson may be somewhat correct. I have been hiding something from all of you…" Lynn said in a very low voice, almost ashamed of the confession that he is almost going to say.

Viviane took a seat in the armchair in the living room, "Now, this is going to be interesting."

Sam and Tyson were still standing in the entrance hallway, and Lynn had been seated in the loveseat in the living room. He continued his confession, by standing up and facing his two friends if he could still call them that after they knew the truth.

"The truth is… is that I survived the zombie attack at my house in London, and could make a fire pit to burn the zombie that was here because… because…"

"Because what, Lynn?! Can you stop your rodeos?" Sam asked.

"Because I found a brush that was from my grandfather…."

"So… Are you going to say that you found out that you are a great artist and that zombies were so mesmerized by your art, that they let you pass by?"

Tyson was worried that the exchange between Sam and Lynn would turn into another fight. Meanwhile, Viviane was excited seeing the exchange of words between Lynn and Sam as if she were watching a movie at the cinema.

Lynn sighed and ignored Sam's snarky remark, "What I mean is that the brush has magic properties, and I can transform after using it. The brush also makes me able to summon a cannon fodder, or what you call a side character. The power, though, is limited. After transforming back, I cannot use my powers again for another 24 hours. Also, if I stay transformed too long, then I can be transported to a random story, like for… forever…"

Sam scoffed, "So, you want us, to believe that you are a magical girl? What should I call you? Pretty Magic Girl Lynn? I won't believe you till I see it…"

"I'm not a magical girl! Not every one that transforms is a magical girl!"

Tyson was the only one jumping in excitement, "Lynn, Lynn! The next time that we need to fight zombies can you please transform? That would be so sick! Imagine you and Viviane fighting the zombies with magic!"

Viviane just applauded and said, "See, was it so hard to confess your little secret to your friends?"

Lynn glared at Viviane, "This is all your fault…"

"Tsk… tsk… tsk… kid. That's where you are wrong."

Before Lynn or the others could ask Viviane what she meant, she headed outside and disappeared into the forest.

There was no inspiration for my other two stories today, so I wrote another chapter for this one. No new chapter tomorrow though.
