I Became Her

Blake needs to stretch his neck from left and right. After a minute, Daniella is finish. " The bed is wet from your sweats , it is better to sleep on the couch. " Blake said. " I can sleep in bed---" Daniella as stubborn as she is. " I said In th couch. " he pressed his words to tell her that he is serious.

Blake sit down at the end of the couch and tap his legs, signaling Daniella to make it as her pillow. She obey him quietly and put her head on his lap. She close her eyes and rest on his lap the whole night .

Daniella open her eyes and Blake is not there anymore. She stretch her arms and neck , then she remember Flora. She was suppose to walk through the door when it open and Flora comes inside bringing her breakfast. She have a smile seems like teasing her. "His higness said I should prepare soup for you." she is teasing her. Daniella roll her eyes. " What are you even thinking , you naughty one. " she said while pinching her maid's waistline.

" Where are you the whole night?! I did not sleep looking for you all over the place! " David with a big eyebags is complaining. Blake ignores his words and sit in front of his table. " Did you find anything ?" He was talking about the dead body of Ella. " It is a murder indeed , but not a poison." he said. Blake is confuse. " What do you mean? " he ask . "Can you give me first a cup of tea, I spend my night with a dead body for your sake. " He ask in a pouting way. Blake as a person who have a small patience as he is trying to calm himself beacause he knew he is the one who needs the result right now. " Cactus, bring us tea." he ordered. "Yes your higness..." he answered and went to the direction of the door. " Okay. The truth is , we don't know who is the killer yet so I don't know who to trust. It is better for us to keep this between us if we want to catch the killer. We need evidence first to prove that princess Layla is innocent. " David he said in a serious tone. " I found out that the reason she died is because she have injury in her head that cause blood clot that kills her on the spot. " David continues to explain. " But I saw personally with my own eyes that her dead body does not have any blood on it." Blake is confuse. " You see, if someone hit you with a stone with so much force and does not bleed outside, it is because it maybe bleeding inside. Which is not normal that is why it is dangerous. And can kill you in an instant. Also, I saw a cut on her head but it cannot be seen if you will not inspect it properly because of her thick long hair. " David said. " But how can you explain the poison that that it is in her mouth? " Blake ask again. " That is why , I told you . One person is not enough to do the trick. I have a hunch that those who killed concubine Ella might clean her a bit , it is possible that blood came out from her head but they just clean it properly for it not to be notice since they know that dead body was not supposed to be inspected. " David explain. " Then when she died and cleaned up , they poison the tea and put some in her mouth to make it looks like she died from poisoning. " Blake is imagining the scene according to their deduction.

Cactus is making tea when he heard one of the personal guard " See this golden earing ? I think this is my lucky charm. If I will sell it to the pawn shop ,It will cost a lot. " he said boasting. " Liar! Only the royals and some rich families can afford a true gold earring! Maybe only golden color hahahaha!" one jealous personal guard said. " I found it on that night ... behind the tree in the forest. " he said in a whispered way. " That night? ....Ah! You mean that night! .... The night that is not allowed to even remember!" then one personal guard said. " Shshshshs! , If Cactus will hear you , I am sure he will kill us for talking about that incident! " one personal guard said. Then they saw someone behind them , Cactus already heard them all. All of them get up of their chair and run away from the place. But Cactus get a hold of the personal guard who have the golden earring.

" Tell his highness what you saw in that forest behind the tree! " Cactus ordered while kicking the guy who have picked up the golden earring. " It is a golden earring, Your higness..." he put his hands on his pocket and get the golden earring. When Blake see it , he remembers that golden earring clearly. The back of Daniella wearing that pair of golden earrings. Of course that is the only pair of earrings in the world ,that only the crown princess can wear because it is an heirloom . It is a gift when they got married. He noticed that time that the earring really is beautiful when she was wearing it. It fits her. It is the first time he saw her wearing it and it makes him happy and proud inside.

" That night when the bombing happened, I saw it behind the big tree when I went to pee." The personal guard is shaking. " You peed in this earring? " Blake said while massaging his temple. Cactus kick the guy who is shaking and shove him out.

David is now sleeping in Blake's bed. " This is the evidence that we need to make her name clean. " Blake said.

" Concubine Ella is dead?!" Daniella almost drop her tea in the morning for the news she received. " And you are the only suspect your highness." Flora is breathing unsteadily for running from the guard who are outside but stop when he saw her going inside the rooom. " That explained the arrest and the maids who attacked us that night. " she said while thinking, putting her index finger under her chin." And now we are not allowed to step out of our place because guards are outside, I just sneak and run fast just to get back in here! " Flora said. " It is Blake ! He ordered my house arrest ! How can I even defend myself now? He really wanted me dead! Worst case scenario is tomorrow he will come and order me to drink a poison ." Daniella is scared of the thought. " Your highness do you want me to send a letter to your father? I am sure one word from him and all this case would be forgotten. " Flora state her opinion. Daniella think hard and keep quiet. " King Sven loves his daughter very much and I have witnessed that with my own self. If he knew that her daughter is bullied in this kingdom he may come personally and kill innocent people that are not involve in this case just to get to the bottom of it ." She thought. " Why do I even care for innocent people?! Ugh! Staying for too long in this world makes me more attached!" Daniella continues to think. She is walking back and forth while thingking and Flora can only watch her waiting for her decision. " How can I even say that I am in the forest that night? I may be save from the one who framed me but Blake will kill me! " she thought. " If this is my end so be it. " Daniella said in her final decision. Flora tears started to flow from her eyes. " What is happening to you?" Daniella ask. " So this will be my end... I am happy as long as I am beside you , your highness..." Flora said while hugging Daniella.

"So she just accepted her fate to die? That it? " Blake ask Cactus. That morning Blake send him to check on Daniella because he was worried that she will send a letter to her father asking for help, he was planning to block that letter secretly but Cactus heard the conversation between Flora and Daniella because the door didn't close properly . Upon hearing her highness decision , he reported it to his highness. Cactus shoulders lift up and drop because of his highness reaction in disbelief. " She is worthy to save I guess..." Blake said." Plepare to go to the court room, I'm sure someone is excited to see the princess dead. " he said.

In the court where the important officials gathered are now noisy. The investigator who is incharge of the case is also there. Blake , the prince will be the judge of the case and is now quitely sitting in the middle. After a minute the court room open and with the rope on her hands, Daniella was push by the guard who is following her and from standing position, she was kneeling now because she lost her balance. Some officials pointed at her and said " You deserve it! " while others are whispering. Blake jaw tightened and close his eyes controlling him self. He cannot let the officials think that he is biased towards the case.

" And all the evidences are pointing in one person inside this court. It is her higness! " the investigator told all the facts that he has seen in the case. Then on the other hand a voice from the crowd can be heard "Then how can you explain this? " Cactus is holding a golden earring showing the audience and the investigator. " An accessory only for the women? " the investigator said. " We all know that the night when Concubine Ella died, his highness did not spend the whole night in her bed chamber because highness went back to his place . " Cactus started. " Yes. And? " the investigator is confuse. " Do you know whom his highness spend his night with? " Cactus is leaving a clue . " Wait , that golden earring ? If I am not mistaken is the earring that the queen are wearing before. I remember she said this is the only pair in the world because it is personally made by the first king king who ruled our kingdom. It is a token of love between the first king and queen who ruled our kingdom!" one of the officials said in disbelief. Cactus nodded not needing to explain all the details. " This accessory that only for women as you are saying and now belongs to one person in this court , and that is none other than her highness . Since it is an heirloom, only her has this accessory. " Cactus explained further. " And this accessory was found in his highness bed chamber in the morning after that night." Cactus said that made the people in the court room in disbelief and silent. The investigator who are proud is now looking down his graze. Daniella froze at her position wanting to melt. Her chastity is now rob. And the theif is Blake . When the investigator regain his posture " You mean that night? ... His highness and her highness were....uhm!" he said ." Since we are all knowledgeable about such things, well you are right." Cactus said. " You highness.... you made me do this... You knew all along that I don't have knowledge in such things. I am still a virgin ! " Cactus is crying inside.

" Your highness? Anything to explain? " one of the official said. " What is their to explain? You all wanted me to have an heir. I just did my best to do it. " He said in a casual way. The officials are now whispering . " Any questions regarding the case? " Blake question. The court room is silent that you can even hear the birds flapping outside. " Then I have a question, who killed Concubine Ella. The case is not over yet. " Blake ask the investigator. "I... I still will investigate further your highness..." the investigator bow his head. " It seems that the court is a joke to all you. Using the court room to judge and point fingers to someone. What great great show! " Blake said in dissappointment and anger. All bow down in unison. It is the first time that Daniella see Blake inside the court doing his job " Wow. He is shining. " she thought.
