Jian and Meng Shu has learned about the library which has been formed by the descendants of the people who entered the secret realm to complete the mission. The elder has informed them that they can go through the information to find more about the mission so without hesitation they both have started to work on it. 

It is taking longer for Meng Shu to read the book as she doesn't have the system but in Jian's case it is quite easy as all he has to do is pick up scroll or a book and the system would immediately scan the information and assimilate in his head.

So like this he is able to get the information at huge amount of speed as compared to Meng Shu but still he is not showing her that he has already learned multiple books. 

From Meng Shu's point of view it is looking like Jian is searching for a specific type of book but he is not able to find that's why he is just picking up multiple books and just looking at there titles before keeping them back.
