New Weapons

Kayden stood outside the shop and walked off towards the Adventurers Guild, He remembered Hale mentioned he could buy things there and was hoping to get some camping equipment. With money so low he couldnt expect to stay at Inns all the time and he wasnt particularly wanting to spend all his nights in those hunter inns. Who knows how long it was since the bedsheets were washed..

Kayden entered the guild and saw a lot of people inside, it seemed like a common place for adventurers to visit. A young lady stood at the front desk and looked up "Hello there, do you need anything?"

"Yes, I am an adventurer and I would like to purchase some items." Kayden said, he looked around but couldnt see Hale

The young lady looked at him for a moment "...Are you wanting to buy some clothes and armour?"

Kayden almost forgot he hadnt changed his clothes yet and he probably looked a bit strange shook his head "No, I want to use my money to buy some camping equipment''

She nodded "Alright, then I might have something for you, come with me"

With a smile the lady led Kayden down a hallway and to a storage room, Kayden recognised this place it was near where he had come out of. ''Is this a storage facility?''

The young lady smiled "We keep some extra gear here, if someone comes in asking for something specific we will pull it for them.''

Kayden nodded and looked at the items, there was a rolled up sleeping futon, a tarpe that could be hung up or nailed into the ground and some cooking equipment "Ill just take the futon and the tarpe, What do I owe you for these?"

"These are relatively cheap it comes to about 30 silvers and 15 coppers" She replied as she handed over the items.

"Ok, thanks" Kayden said

He left the storage room and went back to the main guild room, he wanted to start raising his rank so he would need to accept quests from the guild boards, because he was only F rank he was limited to quests for D-F, once he enters into D rank he can take on C-D quests, then can take on B-C quests when rank C, after that is A rank quests for this you need to become A rank or at least be B rank in a party with A rankers. S class and S+ were too far away for Kayden to think about at this point.

He walked over to the board and saw quest listings, Kayden wanted to take a listing that was close by to Irella for now. He happened to come across one E listed request. There was much information around it other than Local Farm, eaten crops possible vermin problem. So Kayden decided to accept this quest.

He got the details from the girl at the front desk then headed back outside. He figured he should go to the local farmer tomorrow morning as it was getting late now. He returned to the hunters inn on the outskirts of Irella, he could camp but decided to stay there for another night and while he was at it take some of the books and look through the junk for anything useful.

He took the books that he had read before on magic and on this worlds races, including the myths and legends that involved a little information on vampires, he decided to study these as and when he got time. He found out from Gemini that most of the stuff left here was from travellers its common for there to be hunters inns scattered around, if people dont want things they can leave them there, other people can pick up stuff and leave something in its place.

Among the clutter he found some cleaning tools for weapons along with some used blade polish so he decided to clean up the weapons he got today.

''Gemini, can you appraise these tools?'' Kayden washed and changed into new clothes and laid out the weapons on the floor, he took a cloth and wiped off the dirt and smudges on the blades.

Gemini started to inspect each tool, she started from the whip. Consisting of a handle and cord, the fine cord has material covering it which is slightly frayed. The handle features an intricate design of the runes and gemstone. The whip is exceptionally light. It has a silver sheen when viewed under the right circumstances from the woven metal inside the core.

''Its pretty old and has a bloody origin. It has magic properties to it, one that if you can use dark magic it can transform into magically-formed shadow when its power is activated. Secondly, it has the ability of Splitter which allows the whip to be split into multiple clones.'' Gemini felt she was being used less as a all magical companion and more as an item that was only used when convenient.

Kayden folded his arms and leaned against the side of the bed ''So it has multiple purpose.. bloody origin I can only guess it has something to do with Vampires,'' Kayden thought about what Gemini said.

''The daggers are the same in their origin. It can be used by hand or controlled with air magic. its also imbued with poison but is immune to the user once paired. There is currently no owner, pairing can be made. Once paired it will be transformed into a normal tattoo when not in use, and summoned at will.'' Gemini's voice sounded like she was happy that her job was done, she didn't say anything else until Kayden spoke again.

''And this thing?'' Kayden asked pointing to the handle piece

Gemini looked at it for a moment, then back at him excitedly ''Its a shape-shifting tool!''

''What does it mean?'

Gemini looked at him, if rocks had eyes she would have rolled them ''Shapeshifting, its a type of magic which allows the wielder to change their appearance, or the environment around them. Its very rare and powerful magic.''

Kayden raised an eyebrow

''To be exact this weapon can shift between this and a scythe'' Gemini went on ''I cant see much apart from that the scythe will morph into something suitable for the users race.''

Kayden nodded, he didnt think he would be skilled in wielding a scyth at this point and asked how does he pair with the dagger. Gemini confirmed that it required the user to cut into their skin with it, they wont be able to unpair until the users death. Kayden took the dagger and cut into the inside of the forearm where it slowly dissapated into his skin leaving a runic pattern that was present on the handle.

After sorting through the items he got today, Kayden lay down for another nights sleep.
