Chapter 2: The escape.

Liam was yet to get out when they heard hard bangs on the door

" It must be them. Hurry up and use the back door. " Said the old woman.

Liam bowed before them and then ran away with the baby. As soon as he was out the soldiers pushed the door open and stormed inside to find Aurora's body and the women.

The could see that she was just from labor.

" Where is the baby ? " The croup leader asked commandingly.

" We don't know..." Said the old woman.

" Hi...you think we are here for jokes ? " The leader asked and before the woman could say anything the leader removed his sword and cut her throat to death.

The other women screamed in fear on seeing this.

Tell us now !!! The leader yelled when they heard noise outside and rushed to find Liam who had ran a distance.

" Catch him !" The leader commanded.

Liam cradled Aria in his arms, her tiny form swaddled in a blanket.

He gazed down at her, his heart overflowing with love and wonder. She was so small, so fragile.

The Green Men's soldiers emerged from the shadows, their eyes glowing with an unnatural energy.

Liam's instincts kicked in, and he summoned the flames, feeling the familiar rush of heat and power.

"Get back!" Liam roared, his voice carrying above the crackling flames. "You'll never take her from me!"

The Green Men's soldiers stumbled backward, shielding their faces from the intense heat.

Liam took advantage of the reprieve, using his flames to clear a path.

Aria, sensing her father's tension, let out a tiny wail. Liam's heart skipped a beat as he adjusted his hold on her, shielding her from the heat.

The Green Men's leader, a towering figure with skin like bark, snarled, his eyes blazing with fury. "You'll burn for this, fire wielder!" he spat.

Liam's flames danced higher, casting flickering shadows across the surrounding trees. The air was thick with the scent of smoke and ozone.

"I'll burn the world to ashes before I let you harm her," Liam growled, his voice low and deadly.

The Green Men's soldiers, undaunted, launched a second wave of attacks. Liam stood firm, his flames a shield against the Green Men's powers. He held Aria close, protecting her from the chaos around them.

The battle raged on, the Green Men's soldiers relentless in their pursuit. Liam fought valiantly, his flames scorching the earth and sending the Green Men flying.

But the leader of the Green Men, his eyes blazing with hatred, proved to be a formidable foe.

He drew his bow, the arrow glinting in the firelight.

Liam, anticipating the attack, raised his flames to deflect the arrow. But the Green Men's leader was too cunning. He aimed not at Liam, but at Aria.

The arrow shot through the air, passing a hair's breadth from Aria's cheek.

Liam's heart stopped as he felt a warm trickle of blood on his arm. Aria's tiny form went rigid, her

The arrow continued its trajectory, striking Liam in the chest. He felt a searing pain as the arrowhead bit deep into his flesh.

But it was not just his own blood that flowed from the wound. Aria's blood, carried on the arrow's tip, mingled with his own. Liam's vision began to blur, his thoughts growing cloudy.

The Green Men's leader approached, his eyes gleaming with triumph. "You should have stayed out of this, fire wielder," he sneered.

Liam's flames flickered, dying down as his strength waned. He knew he had to protect Aria, but his body felt heavy, unresponsive.

As the darkness closed in, Liam's only thought was of Aria, and the future that lay ahead for her.

The Green Men's leader raised his foot to deliver the final blow, but before he could strike, a sudden gust of wind swept through the clearing.

The flames that had died down around Liam roared back to life, fueled by an unseen force.

The Green Men's soldiers stumbled backward, shielding their faces from the intense heat. But it wasn't just the flames that had changed – the very air around Liam and Aria seemed to vibrate with power.

"What's happening?" one of the soldiers whispered, his eyes wide with fear.

The Green Men's leader took a step back, his face pale.

"It can't be," he muttered. "Calebastar..."

The soldiers exchanged nervous glances. Calebastar was a legendary power, one that could control the very elements themselves – fire, ice, green, soil, and wind. It was said that whoever wielded Calebastar could conquer all the kingdoms.

But how was this possible? Liam was just a fire wielder, and Aria was just a newborn baby...

The power surrounding Liam and Aria grew stronger, the flames burning brighter and hotter. The Green Men's soldiers retreated, abandoning their leader.

As they fled, the Green Men's leader turned back to Liam and Aria, his eyes burning with a mixture of fear and awe.

"You have no idea what you possess," he whispered, before turning and disappearing into the trees.

Liam, still reeling from the sudden turn of events, looked down at Aria in his arms.

What was happening? Where was this power coming from?

' Could it be that you are the child the prophecy talks about ?'

Liam asked himself in disbelief.

The power had been brought because Aria's blood had entered Liam's but he didn't know that.
