Absence of Effort

Woman walked in gracefully, carrying the familiar set of drinks and cookies that are commonly offered to royalty in this region.

'Ahhh, thank god we prepared that beforehand. She really saved me!' Adam thought to himself.

"Welcome, Woman!" Adam lightly applauded. He had no idea what to say. His nervousness was leaking from his face, with drops of sweat starting to fall.

"I brought some refreshments, please feel free to take." She nudged toward The Creator.

"Ahh, thanks." He nonchalantly grabbed a drink and took a sip. His face instantly relaxed and his shoulders drooped.

'Well, at least he doesn't seem to be upset.'

'I need to spend more time focusing on him. This work has been tedious. I told the nearby kingdoms not to involve me in their useless politics, yet here I am filling out this paperwork.'

Adam watched as The Creator downed the rest of his drink.

"Ah- I take it you enjoyed the drink?" He lightly chuckled.

"Yes, thank you."

"Please, drink mine too. I am not thirsty," Adam offered.

"Really? Alright." The Creator took the other drink and enjoyed himself.
