CHAPTER SIXTEEN
"T-this is it?" Levi asked, now in the garden.
There was a central circle, made specially for dancing, of smooth stone tile. Surrounding it were large pink roses, of full bloom. "Wow! It's so pretty! I heard this is part of your land, Levi?" I asked, twirling in a circle. My dress puffed out, flying and dancing over the flowers. Levi was watching me, as if scared I would fly away.
"Their Cordelian roses. I had it built for you." Levi said softly, and I paused to look at the nameplate at the center of the floor.
Cordelia.
"Hey wait! This is my grave?" I said, instantly crouching to stare at it. I see why Levi looked nervous now. "Yes… I used to come here a lot." Levi said, not saying anything in protest as I sat down next to it. "whaaaaaat? Why'd you stop coming, then? did you forget me?" I said, tilting my head, and Levi shook his head. "It was too sad. I always blamed myself for your death."
….????????
"Uhm. You couldn't have stopped it. At least you didnt die with me, though! That would have been a shame." I said, running a finger over the carved nameplate. "But, Levi."
"Thanks for remembering me."
Levi smiled. "Now, let's dance! Don't step on my nameplate, though, because that's still Cordelia's body." I said, standing up, and I stepped up to Levi. Taking his hand, we started swirling. Eden had two left feet, and Levi was even worse. I laughed as I stepped on Levi's feet for the 20th time. Spinning just like we had back then. In endless circles. "Are you aiming for my feet, Cor?" Levi asked, and I spun again. Gracefully this time, I landed right in Levi's arms.
Hmmm. "I could get used to this. Don't you think?" I asked, smiling.
