CHAPTER FIFTEEN
The funniest part was that it only took a few minutes. The stuff I had tried to hide for so long was all out in a few minutes. Levi was still on the floor, but sitting cross-legged now. Meanwhile, my tongue was getting sore. Everything. Even though I wasn't that original Cordelia.
Levi was still seated on the floor. "So Zal remembered me from the past. Now, my question is, do you?" Back to the question that Bog had asked me a while ago. Levi looked up.
"No, I can't. Why?" Levi asked, and I laughed, slapping a palm on my forehead. "Nothing! Nothing at all! You'd just be disappointed in me if you found out what happened in the last life, that's all. The original Cordelia was quite the pushover." I said, still giggling. Levi smiled. "But, actually, I have something more to say. Dude! Are you crazy? You literally confessed in front of me!" I said, now erupting into a new wave of giggles and flopping onto the bed. Levi turned bright red. "t-that was-" he shuttered, and I continued laughing like a maniac. "That was a plot twist! Ps, I like you too, but now's not the time. I didn't expect that at all. Like that other plot twist about you being a traitor." I said, laughing. Levi's head snapped up. "Too?" He echoed, and I winked. "But still. This first. Why'd you join that douchebag of an emperor?"
"Ah. I did it… for you. After the war, I was put into jail for a while, but after I escaped repeatedly using the curse to melt the bricks away, the emperor said… If I worked for him, I'd get to see you again."
"You suffered through ten years of that (retracted cursing) for me?" I said, in disbelief. Levi laughed nervously. "Sorry if it sounds like an excuse." "Oh, it's fine. I believe you. But that means he didn't know his daughter got possessed…" "Obviously. I guess he didnt know that I've finally found you again."
"But… Uhm… now we're both under that contract…" I said awkwardly, scratching my head. Levi and me both fell silent.
"Ah, its fine! At least we've got each other now ~ we can continue going in circles around that pigslop. Also because, if we team up, I think people will be scared of double-crossing us…." I said, rubbing my chin.
Ah. We were going to need some luck for this. But I shoved that thought out of my mind. "Hey, Levi. The garden is empty today, and those music guys are constantly playing classical music. Want to take a second shot at stepping on each other's shoes?"
