"Hello? Mrs. Cordelia?" The butler asked, confused. "I need to see the emperor and princess." I gasped, breathless, and the butler's face suddenly became solemn. Oh no. "They're not available at the moment." The butler said, and I slapped my palm on my head. "Idiot, if they're dead, just say it! I have divine power, I can heal them!" I said, shoving the butler aside and dashing down the hall. One left and one right. Follow the red carpet to the room with marble tiles. I threw open the door - to see 7 assassins and the bodies of what had to be the emperor and the princess.
Late. Too late to save anyone. I had failed. agan. Suddenly, a hand grabbed my mouth from behind and held a cloth to my nose. DONT. BREATHE. IT. IN. CORDELIA. But too late again, my head started spinning. More? My divine power surged through my arm, but an assassin just grabbed a curtain to whack at the flames at my arm.
I recognized someone else too. This person wasn't wearing assassin clothes. Eden was the daughter of the emperor and heir to the Ruthim empire.
"Cordelia!" Levi said, rushing down the hall. I saw why now. There was cold metal on my neck, and Eden was holding the blade. With a smile, she sneered at me. As if to say, You've lost. With a slash, blood splattered the ground.
"Cordelia!!"
