"But! I promise I'll never ask Levi to do anything wrong or hard, or anything that could put him in danger! Or anything that I coudn't do myself! So." I protested, grabbing Levi's hand. "Don't do this. Please." I begged, looking at where the person's eyes were supposed to be.
"My, My. Chosen One, Do you think you can make up for it with that? Do you think you can make up for everything you've done? to us?" The person asked, spreading two hands wide to gesture at the room around her. "It is your fate to forever erase what was written on paper. Your soul is already so dark."
"So die." The fortune teller said, pulling a dagger out of her cloak. WHAT.
Then, my heart paused. Wait. It was time to pull out my trump card : acting like an innocent eight-year-old. "Omigod! You can see the color of my soul?!" I yelped, suddenly appearing next to the fortune teller and grabbing her skirt. The fortune teller was surprised into dropping her dagger. "What color is it?! Cyan?! I always wanted a cyan soul, if that makes sense - But, wait, no, you said it was dark? Then a dark teal? Or magenta? I always wanted magenta!" I said, enthusiastically, now brazenly kneeling in front of the fortune teller. "Seanae." The fortune teller suddenly said, and my head snapped up. "OH MY GOD. Say it again! Again again again!" I said, leaping to hug the fortune teller. In shock, the fortune teller tired to brush me off, but this eight-year-old's grip was not to be underestimated. "You have no idea how much I've suffered! Cordelia this, Cordelia that! The entire time, I wanted to yell, 'To hell with the sappy english name', but I couldn't even do that because I came up with it! So say it again!" I said, grabbing onto the fortune teller's hair and yanking on it. The fortune teller was now spinning about.
You might expect Levi to be gaping at me in shock and horror, but not this time.
"You don't deserve a second life! Do you think you can distract me with suck petty tactics?!" The fortune teller screeched, reaching for their dagger. But she couldn't find it, and her hand closed on empty air. Because it was already in the hands of someone else. "Yes, I think I can." I whispered into their ear, before leaping off as Levi lunged to plunge the dagger into her shoulder, and then her neck.
Checkmate. Levi wiped the dagger clean as the fortune teller fell.
