Facing a situation where he is forced to adhere to the rules of this domain. Ray had no choice but to fight the group of Hunters while nervously glancing at the unconscious Asia.
Ray isn't completely oblivious to the situation. With a glance, information filled his mind and he could understand what was done to Asia.
Due to her connection to him, her bond is used against him to pull him into this place and this spatial transference ritual was sustained by her blood. Which means, the longer he takes to defeat the Hunters, the more blood is drained from her until she dies.
However, Ray wanted to go all out and obliterate everything in his path. His power is restrained. He had no clue to the rules or limit of this restraint. But the moment he reaches the limit, the pale red moon will glow and disable his power. Which is incredibly annoying.
"What's the matter? Not so strong anymore? Hahaha!" A knightly Hunter wielding a katana drenched in blood, mocked Ray while aggressively pressing with his attacks.
Annoyed, Ray dodged the flurry of attacks and formed an orb of reddish black energy in his palm. A recent addition to his power he obtained after devouring Sirzech. But unfortunately, the pale red moon glowed again before the orb of Power of Destruction became snuffed and sealed away.
Just as Ray was about to click his tongue from annoyance, he felt his instinct flared and rolled to the side humiliatingly on the ground to dodge a powerful slam that would hit him if he didn't dodge.
A sword stuck to a fucking massive slab of stone just hit the spot he was on a moment ago and before he could even voice his anger. Another attack, this time from that Hunter that disguised as Serina. She attacked with her dual blade, slashing and stabbing rapidly as Ray dodged again and again while trying out his power one after another that faced the same outcome as before. They all are sealed away.
Forced to weave around five relentless Hunters that are eager to carve him out, Ray suddenly heard a whisper at the back of his mind.
'Stop using your abilities, they wouldn't work. This space suppresses and restricts all shape and form of power aside from those that mirror the Hunter's. Your only choice is to wield a weapon and fight.'
Given such clues by this unknown voice. Ray tried to conjure a weapon. But it triggers the restriction again. Ray wanted to shout about this blatant fake information. But the voice quickly shut him up.
'The Hunters obviously can't conjure weapons. Thus this outcome should be natural.' The voice spoke with clear disappointment.
"Then what should I do?" Ray growled in frustration as he took several dozen bullets from a Hunter that wielded his Gatling Gun like a melee weapon while also shooting it whenever possible.
The voice turned silent as if he was shocked that Ray hadn't figured out on his own.
'Certain Hunters that took the Path of Beasthood can transform part of their body into weapons.'
Hearing this clue, it's obvious which ability the voice is trying to point out. But it does raise the question on who the voice is for knowing that much about himself. However, this is not the time to think about unrelated stuff.
Ray dodged another volley of Quicksilver bullets and several other weapons coming for him and landed on the bottom of the hill looking up at the five Hunters barely breaking a sweat while the one that kidnapped Asia stared at him with a smug look on his face knowing Ray had no way to retaliate with the restriction imposed on him.
Or so they thought.
Seeing Ray stood still, looking hopeless and his head hung low. The knightly Hunter advanced excitedly with his blood drenched katana seeking to draw more blood which excites him.
When the knightly Hunter got into range and slashed at Ray. His blade dug deep and blood poured out wildly like a broken high pressure pipe as blood sprayed out and formed a mist.
When he tried to retract his blade, he found it oddly stucked and tried to yank his blade out from Ray's body only to find it held in place firmly. When he saw how the open wound had already sealed and fused the blade along the wound. He knew something was off.
But his realization came a little too late when he saw his opponent's body suddenly started to twitching wildly before something burst out his back and impaled the knightly Hunter and push him up into the air before slammed him into the pile of gravestones on the edge of the hill, kicking up a cloud of dust.
Ray lifts his head up to reveal the glowing red irises surrounded by black in his eyes.
Moment ago, he became temporarily immobilized because his body is rapidly producing RC cells which modify and strengthen his physical body. Once there are enough RC cells produced, it starts to produce a Kagune.
The Kagune that was first to be made was a spine shaped Rinkaku that is black in colour with metallic glint to it and red pulsing veins and eyes along its length.
Ray did not need to move it himself. They moved on their own as if they had a mind of its own as it angrily pierced the knightly Hunter that dared to hurt him.
"Hinami?" Ray mumbles while stroking the black spine-like limbs that tried to rub his face.
When the Gatling Gun wielding Hunter sprayed another volley of bullets, the petal shaped Koukaku hastily deployed despite not having enough RC cells yet to fully manifest. Four raw flesh-like Koukaku petals form a protective shield covering Ray as bullets impact the petals.
It stopped some bullets but without its metallic carapace outer layer, the defence it offered was subpar at best and soon breached. But the Rinkaku limbs already extend themselves and shoot toward the Gatling Gun wielding Hunter to impale him too but another Hunter nearby wielding a green glowing greatsword cleaved the Rinkaku limbs right at the connecting joints were it was the weakest and severed the limbs, causing them to recoiled and retracted back.
"It's alright, Hinami. It's not your fault." Ray cooed with a faint smile while stroking the limb that was regenerating.
Ray then extended his right arm forward before two fully formed petals on his right shoulder wrapped his outstretched right arm before they melted into red viscose liquid that quickly reformed into the shape of armor enveloping his entire right arm and extended out as a sharp and long single edged blade.
The Hunters look physically unnerved by the transformation that Ray did. His appearance and form look very intimidating which made them immediately lose confidence in winning the battle.
With his body leaning slightly forward, Ray dashed towards the four Hunters with the Rinkaku limbs providing him with extra momentum and lift as he jumped up high when nearing the group.
The Hunter wielding the glowing green greatsword made a slash that launched an arc of energy slash at Ray who is mid air. But the two petal on the left wrap his body partially, blocking the attack while the four spine-like limbs lashed out at the Hunters, breaking their organized formation and revealing the target Ray was aiming at.
The trinket holding Hunter become flustered when he was revealed from hiding behind his teammates holding a small bell to support the Hunters with healing when it's not enough time to self administer Blood Vial.
Ray pointed his right arm forward and cut the Hunter from the top of his head down to his hip, cleaving the Hunter in twain as he struggle pointlessly trying to swap his weapon only to not made it in time.
Seeing one of them had fell, the remaining four Hunters become even more tense and ferocious in their attacks.
The Hunter in crow feathered suit lunge forward with both blade bare out like a serpent's fang to stab him which was block by a sweeping strike of one of the Rinkaku limbs.
The Gatling Gun wielding Hunter lay down suppresive fire with his Gatling Gun until he clicks sounded hollow which indicates his ammo ran dry. He panicked to drop off the Gatling Gun to swap to his Kirkhammer's Sword but he is a step too late and unlucky that Ray struck the moment he tried to swap his weapon which temporarily left him empty handed and Ray savagely cleave him apart horizontally from the chest with his sword arm as blood sprayed out, raining down on the flowers that dyed them red.
Two was killed within a minute and only three remain.
Thankfully for the Hunters, the two killed are the weaker ones of their group and not relied upon that only added to be cannon fodder. However, seeing them two get folded that easily by Ray made the remaining three feel nervous.
Even if death in the Dream isn't the end and only a temporary death. The revival is not free and the patron of the Dream will demand tribute for their revival. As such, none is eager to die either.
"What's the matter? Don't tell me this is all that you got after dragging me into this place." Ray stood relaxed and the petal blocked another sneaky shot from the Hunter in the crow feathered suit that clicked her tongue in frustration.
Without any sign, Ray suddenly turned into a blur moving at immense speed and clashed against the Hunter with the green glowing greatsword with immense strength that left the Hunter with his arms turned numb as he grit his teeth to block the attack.
With his greatsword locked against Ray's sword arm, the Rinkaku limbs lashed out and simultaneously stabbed the Hunter.
The Hunter's eyes widened as he couldn't dodge the simultaneous attack from four directions that cut off all possible routes of escape. But the knightly Hunter swooped in and pulled the Hunter away and swifty parried two of the limbs while his body twisted to dodge the other two limbs that narrowly grazed his left shoulder, tearing a great part of its armor. Then the Crow-like Hunter took the opportunity to attack Ray when he was distracted, attacking his right shoulder that lost its petals protection when turned into his sword arm from behind with her poison laced blade.
Facing this incredible display of teamwork of his enemies, Ray remains calm and his face shows a smirk despite blades carving his body open.
"Gotcha."
The Koukaku petals on his left shoulder suddenly morphed into white kaleidoscopic coloured crystal feathered wings that rained down javelin-like crystal feather and pinned down the Crow-like Hunter before the sword arm of Ray stabbed her stomach and disemboweled her in a single stroke.
"It… can… transform?!" The Crow-like Hunter muttered in shock before she fades away, signalling her death.
