Straightening his white coat, he cleared his throat, "Don't you know how to knock before walking into someone's office?"
"I'm sorry doctor, it was a mistake, I promise it won't repeat itself again." The nurse anxiously remarked.
"Drop the report on the desk and get out."
Without saying anything, she placed the files on his desk and ran out within one second.
Looking at Chung-Cha, "I'm–"
Cutting him off, she snapped, "One more word from you and am gonna quit my job and fly back to Victoria." Without waiting for him to say anything, she walked out of his office.
Running his fingers through his hair, he sat on the couch and took a deep breath. After some few seconds, he curled his lips upwards and chuckled.

Night
Los Angeles
Sebastian's place
When the dark room greeted her, she placed her hand on her chest and took a deep breath of relief. "Thank goodness he is asleep."
Peeking through the dark room, she placed her hands on the wall and carefully tiptoed towards the stairs.
An unexpected ray of the sudden lights startled her. "Welcome home mom."
Cursing herself for not being careful enough, Petra awkwardly grinned and turned around. "Hi son,"
"Hi mom," Placing the MacBook Pro on the table, Sebastian stood up and tuckled his hands into his pockets, "Mom, you of all people should know how much I hate lies."
Petra gulped in nervousness, she could see the discomfort in her son's face.
Raising his brows, "You know I'm always straight and forward in everything I do, so why did you chose to lie to Nelly and I about your absence?"
"Sebastian, I was held up in traffic. The entire place was so tied up. I had to wait for the jam to ease before making a move."
"But that's the same route Donald took on his way home."
"Donald and Tasha are back?" Without waiting for his reply, she inquired, "How are they doing? How are their parents? Are there babies on the way yet?–"
Cutting her off, he took a deep breath and patted her shoulder, "Calm down mom, breath, okay? Too many questions at a time, how do I answer them in one goal?"
Pausing for a while, he added, "I don't know if Tasha is pregnant yet because she didn't share it with us. But that doesn't answer my question."
"Well umm–I went to see a friend and ended up falling in a very deep conversation which made me arrive late." Cupping his cheeks, she apologized, "Am sorry I had to lie dear,"
"Mom you got Nelly and I worried. We thought something bad might had happened to you." He frowned.
"Nothing is going to happen to me, stop talking nonsense, okay?" Placing her bag on the couch, she sat down and started taking her shoes off.
"Seb, is mom back–Oh here she is." Walking down the stairs, Nelly hugged her from behind, "Mom you would have at least called."
Patting her head, she smiled, "I'm sorry honey, I bumped into a longtime friend today and we ended up chatting for hours."
Looking at Sebastian, Nelly complained, "Seb, has the pizza arrived yet?"
"Pizza?" Petra scrunched her brows and snapped at Nelly, "Why didn't you cook something for dinner?"
"Really? Like seriously you want her to roast down the kitchen?" Shaking his head, Sebastian remarked, "Mom I've already ordered something for us."
Sitting beside her, Nelly caressed her hair, "So tell me, who's that longtime friend you bumped into today?"
Knocking her head, she snapped, "What are you so curious about? Infact what are you doing here? You're engaged and you should probably be with your fiancé."
"Yeah you're right, I'm supposed to be with Calvin but I promise to return home by weekend, remember?" When Petra helplessly shook her head, she added, "Perhaps he is not in town right now."
"At his parents' place?"
"No, he went for a business appointment, but he'll be back tomorrow night." Placing her head on her shoulder, she pouted her lips, "Mom I wanna eat something light."
"Stop acting baby and jerk your head off mom's shoulder."
"Why do I always think that you're the most jealous brother on earth."
"Stop calling me that." He frowned.
When she stuck her tongue out, he frowned deeper, "Mom, Nelly is pissing me off and I'm gonna take it for granted."
Letting out a chuckle, Petra smiled, "You two have started playing like toddlers. At least give me some breathing space."
Ding Dong! The bell rang.
"Okay I got it," Nelly hopped towards the door and hopped in after few seconds with three big cartons of pepperoni pizzas and three big bottle of diet cokes. "Oh boy, let the diggings begin." Handing one to Sebastian, she took one and gave the last one to Petra.
Placing his meal on the table, Sebastian wasn't concern about food, his attention drew towards what he was earlier doing.
Grabbing the bunch of files, he frowned as he searches for something important.
"Seb, its dinner time, everything other things have to wait for later."
